If I took 2700 Malaysian Ringit (just over 20,000 baht) - would that be ok?
It seems like I would loosing more money if I drew out ringit from the ATM, then changed it to USD here to change it into baht when I got to Thailand? -
Ok thanks again guys. Nervous and stressed at the moment ????

Hello
Does anyone know where I can buy Thai Baht in Kuala Lumpur with my card? Preferably close to the Petronas Building as thats where I'm staying
Thanks
-
If I'm Kuala Lumpur now, do you know if its possible to buy baht here? Back in the UK its hard to get baht on short notice from currency exchanges - a lot have to order it for you

Would it be better to show cash?
And yes, this is my second TV this year. Been in Thailand since 1st March.Last visit before that was 2 weeks December 2018

Hi,
Been for my new visa today. Back tomorrow to pick up passport. Providing all is ok and I fly back into Krabi, when I get to immigration am I likely to be asked for anything else (i.e proof of funds etc) or will they just check passport and stamp me in?
-
One of the required docs is flight confirmation to and from Thailand. I brought my gf to KL with me for a few days - so on the flight confirmation to Thailand (Krabi) it has her name on it as well. This will be my second Tourist Visa this year. Will having her name on the confirmation possibly create an issue or am I over thinking things? I booked a cheap flight for just me for end of July. Thanks again

Ok thanks.
Yes, my first visa was obtained at home. This is the first time I've done a "visa run". I.e leave just to get and come back. -
Hi Guys
Going KL in a few days for new tourist visa (second this year). What are my options if the worst happens and it gets refused. I will be leaving most of my stuff here etc. I have no reason to believe it will be refused, but you never know and I just want to have some info before hand. This my first time doing a "visa run" so a little unsure etc. Thanks

Hello
There's a section on the visa form that asks for details of my local guarantor. I don't have one - do I presume I just leave this blank - it isn't a requirement? Thanks

Ok cheers Joe, very helpful as always

Hi
Going to KL at the end of the month to get my second SETV for this year. Then planning on going home for a 3-4 weeks in August (back to the UK). Will I be able to get a 3rd SETV from there, and then come back to Thailand 1st of September?
Thanks

Hello - I'm going to KL to apply for a new single entry tourist visa. Will I have to show any financial info - bank statements etc - or is that not required?
Just want to clarify, thanks
-
Hi guys. At the end of May I will have been in Thailand 3 months on a SETV + extension. I want to stay longer and was planning on doing a visa run to Penang (as that's where a lot of these visa run companies take you).
Is this a safe option? I was in Thailand last December for 2 weeks, then returned 1st March and have been here since.
Are the visa run companies a good idea? Been quoted 5500 bht + 2000 for the new SETV for a 2 day run. How much cheaper will it be if I sort everything out myself?Any other advice welcomed. If you need more info happy to provide

Going to go down today. Can anyone tell me what the procedure is, how long it takes, what questions to expect etc? Thanks
-
Ok thanks,I'll probably go and get it sorted tomorrow then

Hello
To get my 30 day extension - can I just confirm, on Samui I'm going to;333 Maenam Road, Soi 1 Moo 1,
Tambon Maenam, Amphoe Koh Samui,
Suratthani 84330
Also, if my current visa runs out on the 29th, but I go say on the 26th - when the next 30 days start? Will it start on the day I went for the extension, or the day the current visa runs out?
Thanks guys -
British, 33, SEO freelancer, clients all UK based, working as I move around. No real savings but earn decent money monthly. Was last in Thailand December 2018. But I've got a brand new passport a few weeks ago, so no stamps etc. I am planning on travelling around Asia - but love Thailand. I was planning on going to Kuala Lumpur anyway - so might go there, see the sites etc and get a new SETV and come back if I really want to. How do I get a new SETV, where do I go etc? Thanks Tim!
-
Hi chaps, forgive me for asking a question that has no doubt been asked before.
Arrive Samui 1st March. Got a SETV for 60 days. If I decide I want to stay longer - how do I go about it? Where do I go, who do I see, what do I pay etc.
Thanks guys, all been a lot of help so far.

Hi guys, thanks for the advice.
I also enquired with Finnair. 2 different chat operators have told me two different things. First told me forward air travel was a requirement and their website has restrictions on booking one way tickets. I said no it didn't because I'd already booked a ticket. The second told me a ticket to leave the country was required - but it could be an overland ticket and not necessarily a plane ticket. I did tell both advisers about my Visa but they didn't even really acknowledge it.
So rather than take the risk at the airport (I hate check in anyway, can't be bothered with further potential complications) I've booked a £27 flight from BKK to Vietnam.
And thanks for the heads up about Bali. I've actually just got a brand new passport for this trip as my nearly 10 year old one was looking a bit worse for wear and I'm not planning on returning to the UK until Xmas. Thanks again guys - its a lot of help this forum, really appreciated! Can't wait to leave now, 15 days to go!

Hi guys. Due to fly on the 28th of this month. I'm leaving the UK for sometime - stopping on Samui for a couple of months before moving on somewhere else like Bali or the Philippines. I've got my Single Entry Tourist Visa and a one way ticket with Finnair to USM - with no on going travel booked so far. I was just going to see what I feel like doing closer to the time and go from there - but someone told me the airline may not board me without proof of onward travel? Any advice please.
-
Thanks for clarifying guys. So do I just get a tourist visa and do the 30 day visa runs?

Good morning/evening guys
I'm coming to Thailand in the next few months to spend an extended period of time in the country before moving on somewhere else.
I am currently employed by a UK company that only serves UK customers. It's an e-commerce business and I'm a website manager. I will be switching from being an employee to a self employed contractor for the time that I am abroad.
I am struggling to find any definitive advice on what my visa/work permit requirements are going to be? Can anyone help with this. Thanks
