Who on earth is going to be importing goods valued at B1? The reference to B1 was simply to explain that, currently, imports valued at less than B1500 (B1-1,500) are duty-free.
It was a hypothetical question, is that beyond your understanding?
Just to explain that to you:
A hypothetical question is one based on supposition, not facts. They are typically used to elicit opinions and beliefs about imagined situations or conditions that don't exist.

It is already illegal to sell weed with more than 0.2% THC, has been since it was decrim'd a couple of years ago. They were very clear about that. Those that invested heavily in bud that was illegal to sell for recreational use are now whining that they are going to lose money
It is already illegal to sell weed with more than 0.2% THC
No it is not, it is illegal to sell extracts with more than 0.2% THC but the flower/bud was not classed as an extract.
They were very clear about that.
No they were not, they were not clear on any of it, which is why nobody understands the current situation.

I received a note yesterday telling me that I have received a parcel and I need to pay 250 Baht tax and 240 Baht import duty at the main post office before I can get the goods
Only on goods shipped through the post office, most small goods are now shipped through private courier companies.

Will they tax the full cost (inc. freight) or just the value of the goods.
7% value-added tax (VAT) on imported goods valued at 1 baht and above
So if something is valued at 1 Baht, how are you supposed to pay the tax, are they also going to introduce 1 Satang coins or will they round it up to the lowest value coin available (25 Satang), which would mean that you are paying 25%?

Where was she coming from at 8.30 am ?, surely not a morning stroll.
Not that, that makes this crime right. She accepted a lift so must have been tired..... I'm not victim blaming but just asking.

Why not?
What time do you deem as acceptable for a morning stroll?

I get my gummy bears from 'Candy after dark'.
I'm not an expert on edibles but I am a long term smoker (over 20 years) and five of these magical bears will usually put me into a decent chill.
https://www.facebook.com/happyCandyAfterdark/
I order through 'line', great customer service and very quick delivery (couple of days to Samutprakarn).

I recently bought 3 of these, one for each TV in the house.
They are fully set up, so you just have to plug & play.
They come with a bracket for the TV, so they are very discrete.
All you need to add is a wireless keyboard and mouse.
BTW, I'm very happy with the performance/speed/quality.

Three former Bhumjaithai MPs banned from contesting elections for life
In Thai terms 'for life' could mean until the next bunch of crooks take the reign, install there own high court judges and overturn the ban.
I'm giving it 2 years maximum

Can't the police just arrest the first Burmese labourers that they find?

The kid was Russian according to reports.
What reports? Where?
Our posts are based on what is shown in the Phuket Express story and I cannot find any information on the minor's age.
Do you have another source to this story?

In a case such as this one, it certainly would be no business of the Thai police or immigration.
If the father does not have custody nor permission but tried to leave the country with the child, it would be classed as kidnapping and certainly would be the business of both the Thai police and Immigration.

Taking Away Minor from Parental Guardian
The wording Parental Guardian may point to him also being a parent (father) of the child but without custody.
Too little being reported at the moment to second guess the circumstances or to blindly label him as a kiddy fiddler.
At this time, the suspect’s name and the specifics of the situation have been withheld from the press.
This would also point to a possibility that the guy is not a KF, otherwise they would have probably released his details to the press.

You said "AsiaNow", but the name of this website is "ASEANNow". (ASEAN is the acronym for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations".
ASEAN is the acronym for the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
Tish and tosh, Asean is the anagram of Senna.
Senna (or a senna), as any competent blacksmith knows, is the front, pointed part of the anvil, used by the 'smithy' to assist with making bends in horseshoes.

claimed that a tuk tuk on the left side of the bus suddenly turned right and cut off in front of his bus. In shock, he turned left to avoid hitting the tuk tuk
That doesn't make any sense.
If the tuk-tuk was on his left and suddenly turned right, the bus driver would have also had to turn right in order to avoid hitting him.
Also, why would the bus driver turn onto the footpath after hitting the motorcycle.
