Was the letter a print out of a PDF received by email?
PDF received by email. had my full name and passport number. i printed it in color to make it appear more 'original'
Did you have to provide any evidence to your embassy or the IO that you were genuinely "trapped" in Thailand and had had a flight cancelled and could not get another before your visa ran out?
happy for you ... hope i get mine soon too

As stated, you would need to email them with the required information.
For any clarification, call the Embassy at 02-348-6700.
thanks very much ????

Simple way to make everyone comfortable and happy; apply and pay on line stating your details. Get online confirmation. DONE.

You can apply for a 60 day extension of any 90 day entry from a NON O visa based on visiting your Thai wife or child. This has nothing to do with COVID.
problem is my visa expired in feb ....

Result: DENIED and given seven days extension. ????
came in on visa exempt stamp. And extended one time already. Came with original poster letter and also generic USA embassy from other poster.
immigration official insisted the letter need my name and that I need to pay the embassy money to crate it.
I showed her the unavailable appointment slots printed out from USA embassy website. She said it was not her business. I told her I could not get an appointment and and there are no walk ins. Fell on dear ears.
there was a young American girl with the same letter and email correspondence from embassy (I didn’t have email correspondence) and she was denied too. Perhaps because they seem to have an argument (I could hear them from the sitting area) the young American girl did not get even seven days.
as I was waiting for my passport and extra seven days an elderly gentlemen also came in with the same letter.
the immigration officer repeated her story and insisted we all needed this letter. This was in the “K” section the section for visa exempt arrival extensions.
I saw two other people with the letter get rejected. Not looking good.
at least seven days puts me past Malaysia lock down? What are my options for visa runs on April 5?
what a headache.
im in same situation as you , what visa are u on ?

i also like to know why ,l why hasnt thailand issued a formal statement in the news allowing foreigners to stay , its not about money or whatever its bloody for everyones health and safety omg

In an earlier post you wrote that your Non Imm O Visa expires April 5.
Since you just confirmed that it is a Visa based on marriage to a thai national, you can in the last week that it expires, apply at your local IO for a 60-day extension for reason of visiting your wife.
Your local IO might require when you apply for the extension that you are compliant with TM-30 regulations (meaning that the property where you are staying has filed a TM-30 form to the local IO stating that a foreigner - you - is staying there). If not, I will provide you with a step-by-step instruction that allows you to register the place where you are staying on the IO TM30 website and subsequently file the TM-30 of you staying there on-line.
hi , have sent u a Dm

The opposite of everything you’ve written is true.
Being locked in a room in the IDC 24/7 with many others puts you at far greater risk than a visit to an immigration office! Are you aware of the conditions at the IDC?
Advising/suggesting people should overstay is very bad advice. Leave the country or apply for an extension!
is it possible to apply for an extension with non imm O visa ? marriaage visa .
2 hours ago i went to the IO , they said i cant ,and i need to apply a new visa.

sorry to hear the refusals ...
last year, Samut Prakarn, child with me, both in tears, begging for mercy to help with visa....was divorcing, they gave me 1x 60 day, went back after 60, asked for EXTENSION of stay based of begin father of Thai child : DENIED and told to go buy ELITE or LEAVE THE COUNTRY !!!!
I said: my child has nobody ELSE in Thailand, as family is piece of trash and no interest....
NOT THEIR PROBLEM
that is why I am so cynical and avoided IO the rest of 12 months, but now with CORONA, they still are a big piece of PSYCHOTIC ...
time is running out, borders closed or impossible request as NO COVID LAB TEST + 100k$ insurance (SCAM)
feel bad for you man .... I have to leave my wife though i dont have any kids yet ...
hope u can figure something out ... malaysia is opening on 31st March ...
is yr visa valid till then ? I went to the IO , felt like <deleted> the way they treating people there ...

With so little info about type of Visa (marriage or retirement), as well as about your intentions re staying in Thailand it is difficult to provide sound advice.
But if you are in Thailand on a 90-day Non Imm O Visa - and you intend to stay here long-term, you can apply at the local IO of the place where you want to stay for a 1-year extension. The requirements are different for an extension for reason of marriage or one for reason of retirement.
Im here on a marriage visa . im holding a Singapore passport
what should i do ? very worried about travelling now ...

what if i am on a NON IMM O visa ? I went down to the immigration office and they told me to renew for 1 year <deleted> ?

The Bangkok Post article is incorrect.
It is only for passengers travelling from risk countries.

OP, sounds like you entered Thailand on visa EXEMPT 30 day. Have you extended that?
You can obtain extension at Thai immigration for 1900 baht. No need to exit Thailand.
no im here on 90 day NON IMM O , i have no idea what that means . its expiring soon on first week of april
-
thanks , i do get 30 day visa exempt entry , however if i just stay for few hours in laos and get back to thailand will that work ?
do i still need apply for a visa

You could get a 30 day visa exempt entry not a extension.
But you may have to apply for a visa for Laos at their embassy or the consulate here after today to enter there.
im kinda confused .... so meaning i can come back to thailand for the 30 days visa exempt ?
their borders at nongkai are still open right

So is overstay people's only option or is their some possibility of visa exempt people being granted emergency extensions?
my visa is granted till 5th april .... was thinking of going to laos to get passport extension for 30 days but now its impossible ?
what do i need to do then ? go back my own country this sure sucks <deleted>
