I now have a marriage visa but I think there point seems to be don't interact with actual tourists, which considering they are still trying to attract tourists is pretty dumb and unfair on anyone who works in the tourist industry.

Unless you have PR, you're a tourist. We all are. All we have are extensions on our original visas.
my original visa was a non-B ...not tourist

Neither have I. Not in 8 years. But conceivably this means my housecleaner and her husband, who does yard work for me, could be denied testing AND treatement, because they interact with me.
They did explicitly say tourists ...we are not tourists so lets just hope there is some common sense????

If the test is positive, they will receive treatment free of charge.
I think this is pretty disturbing ... come and have a test ...if you dare!!!!

The target on our back just got a little bit bigger. So, this means your wife and your family, if you're married, too? Suppose so.
I would hope not as I hav'nt stepped foot outside this country for a few years, but it honestly would'nt surprise me

I don't think a anyone pays when the authorities require testing. You only pay if you chose to get tested out of curiosity.
it also sounds like you have to pay if the test comes back negative????

No. To be more accurate, if you include those extra cases, you would also have to include the extra deaths that have been attributed to other causes (like Dengue), too.
hmmm...not sure I agree with sticking on deaths willy nilly but I know what you are getting at. My point is the rate is actually a lot lower as many have low to no symptons with this virus, so will go undetected

1918 Spanish flu, also a Coronavirus, that Covid-19 is a direct descended from, killed between 50-100 million in a few months, 2,5-5% of the human population, yet it had only a 2,5% fatality rate while the Covid-19 has so far had a fatality rate between 0.25-12.2% (varies, but mostly between 3.4-8.6%). SARS had 11% and MERS had 34.4%, both Coronaviruses closely related to Covid-19. Viruses are among the oldest life forms on the planet, they're survivalists, specialists, has a short life span to evolve rapidly, mutates, copies and enters your genome, manipulates cells, but hey, we got Christophe75, so no worries... he got the expertise we've all been waiting for.
your covid fatality rates are based off confirmed cases ...the "experts" say 10x to 20x more actually have the virus so you have to divide by those numbers to get somewhere close to the real mortality rate, right?

Just now, DLock said:Until they offer free and convenient testing (and tracking of connections), we will never know the extent...right now it suits the Government's narrative to not do the testing ....but sooner or later (probably sooner), it has to happen.
I do agree with you about testing and the dodgy government(I ll put all of them into this category) but I still see no reasons to panic ... when you really look at the numbers they are not nearly as scary as they are being made out to be. Obviously I am not saying to go around and lick hand rails and take as much precaution as you can but I can't help but feel its a massive overreaction when you consider normal yearly death rates .

South Korea did an amazing job. Testing 20,000 people per day.
Thailand is doing none of these things, and they know things are about to go more like Iran than South Korea here.
So those "flattening" numbers didn't happen by luck, accident or the warm summer winds blowing it away...they are result of smart and swift action. Thailand had that same opportunity and missed it.
Now they panic.
I get your point but i also struggle to believe that that China really managed a total lockdown of billions of people .... after all they were still flooding into Thailand

I totally agree ... I look at the numbers and I see how things have flattened out in china and s.korea after a 3 week peak and I struggle to find reasons to panic other than news from governments and other media outlets

yes and my uncle has an elephant that does the backstroke. Is places like Iran not a hot country yet seen to have have have a lot more or Corona virus cases even though seemingly not even reporting to the full extent. Countries around the world are giving free tests unlike Thailand and personally I think that's disgusting considering many people could never afford to have the test
Iran is seasonal and fairly cool at the moment but I do agree about Thailands hospital money making scheme at this time being disgusting

She has tested positive apparently for COVID-19, I think the absence of beds is a true issue, and tells more than the numbers we have been given suggest.
She may well have it and there is a good chance you are right about the numbers but I would still say they would be silly to give out hospital beds unless you really need one... If she was in a bad way, pretty sure they find a bed for her .. can you imagine the public uproar if they let one of their celebrities die

Here's a BAD sign.... a comment from the popular Thai singer who's just announced she tested positive for CV.... She's one of the social elite, a celebrity, and she's having trouble finding a hospital bed???
https://www.thaipbsworld.com/singer-lydia-sarunrat-reveals-that-she-has-covid-19/
she has the sniffles and has been tested ... doesnt sound much like she needs a hospital bed to me ... the last thing you are doing when you are really sick is fannying about on the internet or looking for publicity

Good for Chelsea ... We probably would've qualified for Champions League with our juniors which was better than I was hoping for. So it'll be nice to get some new players in the summer and start a proper season. Of course the real bonus in all this would be Liverpool missing out on the title... again ... Demba ba ha ha
