Hinlay Curry House. 8/1 Na WatKet road T.watkateA.Muang 50000. tel:053 242612 081952 3155. It serves northern Style Gang hanlay and other ... Went there Saturday night, food was terrific.
Lousy service, many items snot available, oily food. Nothing worth recommending about this place. Enjoy Le spice & my partner is Thai and hates salt so there is no problem there. Pity they have such variable staff, but that is a major issue in this town.
Have to agree most of the things I've ordered have been very oily. Very tasty, but oily. Can anyone recommend something from their menu that is less oily? I tried to ask the staff but my Thai wasn't up to the job.

Not a farang bar, but one of Mae Jo's best.. have you tried Volks Bar? (not sure if that the real name). Nice setting on small lake decked out in vintage Vespa/ Volks style. We were pleasantly surpised with the food since its cheap to cater for the 90% student customers. Good for sundowners or go later for the band.

I prefer a good old segregated footway

But, what is a "DOTD," if we may ask ?
I would guess something like D*** of the Day
But it wasn't me this time

Meanwhile in the real world, alcohol can be sold just fine inside official hours (noon and after 5pm). I would LOVE to get my mug on a police social networking site, I'd even fake being drunk to get on it. ( I can't drink too much of course as I will still have to drive home.) But that site should be epic, in the style of the "FAIL" party pics sites. Does anyone know the URL / Facebook page?
Police - "Sir, where did you buy that 2 cases of Sang Som in the back of your car?"
Me - "I bought it 4 days ago at Tesco. It's called planning. In a couple years time when the next Generation of Thais have eleveated Thailand to the very forefront of planning and project management skills, this evolution can likely be traced back to the introduction of the drinking policy that for the first time in a thousand years forced Thais to plan ahead."

I had a similar problem with my not-so-cheap chair from Index marking my tiled floor. I felt that the nasty plastic wheels that all these chairs seem to have wouldn't cope well with a carpet or rug.
I discovered that by removing the cheap plastic wheels and reaming the entry hole very slightly (so the new wheels' thread could bite and get started), the rubber wheels below (from Home Pro 150THB each) fitted well. These are much stronger, roll well and don't mark tiling. Of course parquet may still get marked, e.g. should a piece of dirt or grit get stuck in the rubber, so a carpet/rug may still be required for your purposes, but quality wheels will also cope better on (i.e. not sink-into) a softer surface.
I also toyed with the idea of a piece of thin hardboard or some of those tough carpet tiles oft' used in offices.
Just some thoughts...
Excellent idea replacing the wheels. Fitting avatar.

There are free squash courts at Mae Jo University. They have buttons on the wall outside the courts suggesting aircon but never tried it. They have glass back walls and are in better shape than gymkana was last time I played there (18 mths ago). There are a few old racquets to borrow for free depending on how busy it is. Search 'squash' within this forum for more info

You could at Gymkhana about 18 mths ago. I would bet you still can.

Let's hope that this was the main event. In Japan there was a foreshock registering 7.0 on the Wednesday, 2 days before the big one hit.
From what I have read an earthquake only becomes a foreshock when it is followed hours or days later by a stronger earthquake.

They were my favourite mealsonwheels4u order but no longer on the list of restaurants. Gutted.

So this is where it is on the west side of Hwy 1001 (see longitude and latitude on the map)? Just drove by there one more time without seeing it.
Looks about right. Its got a big sign above it but which is maybe hard to spot with your eyes on the road. As I recall as you're heading North, its in a row of shops just before you get to the entrance of "Sign Apartment"

thanks a lot. dj

I'm on the other side of town, dont get over there much.
Are all the shops open until a certain time? is there a general closing time?
Thanks

If you book more than 1 flight at the same time you can combinne weight. That is 1 pax with 22 kgs and your travelling companion with 18kgs will be 40kgs between 2.
Thanks andrew55 - some top tips there.

He also says about halifax clarity card - 'Our top pick holiday spending plastic is the Halifax Clarity credit card which has no fees on foreign transactions. The only charge is a fairly low 12.9% interest on cash withdrawals, which works out at around £1 per month for every £100 withdrawn'.
I use the halifax buts its a mastercard which, when i looked into it 6 months ago, gives a wholesale exchange rate which is 0.5% worse than visa's xc rate.

About 40 minutes to one hour north of Chiang Mai, about 10-15 minutes past Mae Sa Elephant camp is a place called Mon Jam, or Mon Cham as the signs say. Perched high above Chiang Mai with spectacular views of mountain ranges and valleys, it is truly a sight. There is a restaurant there serving pretty good food. Be sure to take warm clothes - get's a bit nippy in the late afternoon/evening.
Check out CityLife magazine October 2010 issue - http://www.chiangmainews.com/ecmn/viewfa.php?id=2987
The citylife website photos don't do it justice. Even when its not bank holiday it seems to be fully booked. Their 20 tents are all nicely spaced out on spaces carved into the mountain, so every one gets good views. If its full there is another nice resort about 5 mins drive back down the mountain - an expensive places made from converted rice barns.

Look at the brand name on the picture of the reader with all the glare on the left side. Maybe it depends on the model, but this is a photo of a newer one.
The latest versions seem to have overcome this issue.
"What this adds up to is the best eBook reader display we've seen. Its 16 shades of grey make it adept at displaying images where necessary and sunlight poses no problems whatsoever. In fact the Kindle is easier to read in bright sunlight than a book since white pages can be prone to glare." Kindle 3 on Trusted Reviews

I also play squash at Maejo University. I have squash ball and can play on Wednesday or Friday. If interested just send me PM.
I saw their courts a couple of weeks back. They look good - glass backed for spectators, and quite cool also.
There were only 2 girls playing on one court and 3 courts empty. This was about 5:30 pm.
The courts were on the 2nd floor of the same building as the ground-floor fitness gyms, right?
I'll PM you for a game soon.

Hi
Where do you live? If you can travel to Mae Jo university I'll have a game with you. I have lost my racquet but they have some basic racquests spare. Do you have any squash balls?

I've parked there for about a week. No charge and no problems whatsoever. Its an International airport so security must be pretty good. Can only imagine you were very unlucky Thaifan2
