Just another example of They don't want us here.
Dual pricing, now at hospitals, what's next?????
Bit of a joke really, i have to go to govt hospital (excellent) every 2 months and when paying i don't see anybody else flashing the cash, so if like many claim that we are not wanted here that is a bit less in the hospital safe. Nothing makes sense to me, whilst i understand that a government isn't an insurance company why not at visa renewal have an option, prove your own insurance or pay a gvnt charge say 50,000baht and get access to care the same as thai residents, some are saying the 800000 is enough for a health guarantee that is fine but if you break into it for an emergency in the seasoning period and cant replace it your in trouble at IO.
I see in another post earlier that your passport is your guarantee and with a joined up computer system IO at visa renewal would be able to collect ir no renewal, please don't start screaming at me these are only thoughts to a solution that isn't going to go away.

This falls in line with the feeling of being treated like an animal, if you go to Khonkaen Zoo its the same dual pricing
-
That will have a major impact on the cost of medical insurance for expats

Racism. Farangs are being persecuted. It has become a Police state. Do they think I'm gonna waste my time filing a TM 30 while on a weekend break?
Why is the Thai Govt doing this? Are they afraid we might take over the country?
Maybe they might take notice if we all refused to comply? Though I can't see the Farang community having the balls to stand together.
No, i came here for a quiet life not to be fighting and arguing with every man and his dog, if you go to the Uk you are hounded by every dept god made, complain but give a reasonable reason for your gripe and you may, just may, be listened to.

Forget to mention using mail the receipt is taking ~3 weeks. There are few threads about tm30 and outline what to include etc.
I'm including copy of lease, passport identity page, reentry permit, current entry stamp, tm6.
Will do this after my last reentry before my next 12 month extension.
What a load of ---------- about and for what do they require this

These little devils will find a way in its there life its how they live, living on the outskirts of KK we initially had a few in the shower rooms, i fitted a couple of S bends which solved that problem and the odd one appears now and then, a quick spray and thats him/her sorted.

I looked at agod a and they were offering a gulf view, air conditioned room, 100 meters from the beach at Jomtien for 192 THB this week, private bath. And lady friendly....and that is one aspect that has improved, there are a lot fewer ripoffs for bringing a girl back to your room. They know they will get a bad review..
Lady friendly does that mean you can take the Mrs ?

Used to be 20.000 Swedes in Thailand, now only 19.999 (I left). Now there are more Thais in Sweden than Swedes in Thailand (I recon most of them are females).
Its a good point you make, in Dubai many thai females and in the UK just about every empty shop opens as Thai massage, if there was a tit for tat thailand would come off worse, many unemployable females would come back bad news for the North East villages and there families and pensions for the expats who return would cease to come in, before you tell me all the Thai females in Blighty have Work permits i think we all know different

Only if their extensions were based on retirement, some may be married to Thai,s and prefer extensions based on marriage but still be classed as retired.
Whatever they still spend

Now we can see why the reporting of movement and continuing 90 day reporting the figure is not known, wow. But beware put to many figures in without taking the corresponding amount out, ie put the visit in but dont forget to remove it when you report your back home again etc or we will have more on retirement than thai nationals

Everytime the Chinese come they get wiped out in brake failure or sleeping bus driver, would you come ?

First off, your children are 1 and 2 and not ready for school yet.
So there is no immediate need to move to the city.
I would suggest having that talk a few years down the road.
Currently you have two choices?
Either except living in Isaan with the house you helped buy, working things out or get divorced.
Sooner or later you have to own up to what kind of relationship you really have and if it is the kind you really want.
She may not stop at the house and buy a car, etc. knowing if you are around, then you will be the one to pay.
To me it doesn't sound like a very loving relationship at all and you need to figure that one out quite quickly.
She married a farang and wants to have all the face in Isaan at your expense. You either go along with it, or get it over before you are responsible for more of her debts.
It is no fun living in Isaan what so ever.
But your choices are pretty cut and dry.
If she is in it for your money, she will bleed you dry before you get a chance to leave.
Sad situation to be in with the kids for sure, but these money seeking types rarely change.
She is in Isaan on her turf with all the game/support in her favor.
If it is going south and you love your kids, maybe she will take a cash deal to let you have the kids.
The way things are going and from what you have described, there will be no limit on her spending.
Ask anyone that has been married a long time if their Thai wife would ever buy a house without their consent or without talking it over as husband and wife?
You are too you to blow it all on this woman and you need to think clearly about that and your kids
My wife is from Isaan, and even though she has everything she ever dreamed of, she would never, never, never do something like this.
She is still thankful to this day for every single little thing.
Wish you luck.
Likewise and well posted

These posts sicken me, we all come over here to find a relationship for our remaining years and these stories blight the horizon.
i met my wife of 3 years in the UK and she is great, she is a mother and grandmother and yes helps look after the 2 grandchildren with school cloths etc but no big cash hand outs and she encourages her 2 to keep looking for better jobs and thanks me as she can see some if my advice is helping them.
My experience whilst limited is its the brothers and sisters who are the problem they put pressure on asking why they cant have some of her money and she explains its not hers to give away, its ours.
In a moment of weakness i/we agreed to lend with no profit% etc 50.000bt
to a sister who is working but fell on hard times, the months went on and on and no money only excuses.
One day she appeared and i thought my lucky day but no she asked for more and was politely told that that was no solution to her problem, none of you will be surprised to hear now she wont talk to us and no we haven't had any money, so thats ok but upsets my wife.
Many things we as people coming from more affluent areas need to understand is that many have and still struggle and just want a little help on the way.
Why do many many 25 year old females leave there children with there parent/s and go away and do things they don't like with 5 or more men everyday but it earns them money to send home.
There will always be the ones who exploit and i can understand it whilst not approve and some are just ungrateful with the help they've received and want want want.
Good luck with whatever you decide with what appears to be an ungrateful woman, and don't forget to fill the engine with something nasty before you leave it that will soak up some of the money you leave behind

I did a 12 month Non O retirement visa at my ocal Khon Kaen imigratio.
I needed the 809k in bank for 3 months before application. I need to get another 90 day stamp on 12 July I went to the imigration yesterday to ask when I could take 400k out, they said I could take it out 3 months after my 90 day stamp on 12 July, so the 809k has to be in the bank account untill 12 October. So 800k has to be in your account for 6 months out of the 12 month retirement visa.
When I go for my new 12 month retirement visa I have to have the 800k in my bank account for 3 months before application so in a sense we have to have 800k in for 9 months in total out of the 12 month visa.
So, 800k in the bank for 3 months before you apply. On your first 90 day stamp you cannot touch your money. On your 2nd 90 day stamp you have to have your bank account updated so they can see you have had the 800k in the bank for the 3 months after your 1st 90 day stamp. And then you cannot take any money out for a further 3 months. Then you can take 400k out only.
After your 3rd 90 days are up you have to put 400k back in your account to have 800k in your back prior to applying for a new 12 month retirement visa.
hope you can understand this. Gave me a headache.
It is making all our heads spin

potless You do, you don't you do, you dont, why is there so much confusion over TM30, you have already given your place of stay on your last 90 day report, then you go on holiday in or out of country, do you really have to go immidiatly to IO to reregister you place of stay if it has not changed, it is getting that one cannot but help fall foul of the rules.
-
I don't think its the banks that make the rules !!!
-
Leaving 400k in the bank for ever will do wonders for the balance sheet of banks but do little to help the local economy, who need it more.
Dual pricing: Retirees and expats may be charged more at Thai govt hospitals
