Agreed, i am a bit old school, for a pre planned visit to any gov dept its always long trousers, ask things in a polite way, never get bolshy when you are asking for advice, and always a smile and a Wai will come your way, being old school i at 72 still open doors for ladies, walk on the roadside when on the pavement with the Mrs, and always take the weight on my elbows.

Before Covid there did not appear to be issues with Covid, my guess is the government don't trust Thai's to be responsible.

I went to a private hosp in BKk courtesy of a perk with Krungthai, for a wrist pain after shutting it in a door, consultation, xray, carrier bag of meds, temp cast,no more than a strain that would have put itself right, 1 hour in and out 26.000 baht i do recall.

I was amazed how expensive private hospitals are here, and equally amazed what good value and care you get in a government, my views are based on the government University hospital in Khonkaen10/10

OMG, the Uk way is far simpler, if you dont live in the Uk you get big zero, with regard to health as an expat, if you live overseas for more than 90 days you are classed as gone, if/when you return you must register and wait for 6 months before being afforded hospital or and medical help. That said you can go Bangkok to France, public transport to Calais , hide in a lorry or hitch a lift on a boat when you arrive Blighty do a non comprehend after ditching your passport and look forward to several months of hospitality in a upmarket hotel and any ailments will be sorted, i think this is how it works.

Living in Thailand 7 years been rear ended 3 times, my view of motorcyclists including my self, laterally a 650 sport bike, the bigger the bike the more careful the operator.
