  1. Ahhhh Bt.4000 for a blank key fob. Be interesting to know the all in price for one with a key and coded to the vehicle. the Bt20,000 I mentioned above is the all in price to have a useable key fob.

    Just got back from Ford Pattaya and here's a breakdown of the actual costs;

    Blank Key Fob 3,600 Baht

    Programming/coding 730 Baht

    Key cutting 650 Baht (I took it to Big C South Pattaya, the nearest I knew of)

    Total 4,980 Baht

  2. Following on from my earlier post, here's the part number for Ford Ranger remote key fob (blank) should anyone want to order as a replacement/spare;

    Description: Key Blank

    P/No : UCY0 584GX

    post-30245-0-85072600-1348718551_thumb.j

    They'll give you the blank, then you have to go and get it cut/copied by yourself then return it to Ford to have them code it.

  3. To give this some perspective, in the UK they introduced a Law in 2011 making it a mandatory requirement for all new cars manufactured to have DRL's fitted - with encouragement given for people to fit DRL's on older cars too as part of a road safety initiative. But this being Thailand and all ....

    I enquired about them recently and what I found that you can get them fitted here for less than 1000 Baht (Chinese generic) or up to 6000 Baht (Phillips Brand).

  4. I went to Ford today with the intention of ordering an extra remote key fob but they said that it would be 4,000 Baht! Does that tally with what anyone else has been told? it just seems a tad expensive but then again I've never bought one before..so just thought I'd ask here first

    A key fob earlier today;

  5. Chrome looks good with some colors(like GunSmokeBlue)...but not with white so much IMO,still some chrome highlights are OK....

    ...but those silver painted wheels look awful...I don't want to change them,because of the guarantee issues(done that before),so repainting them with flat black color will do for now.

    Does anybody know where to get this rubberized paint ? It can be easy to apply...and easy to take off wink.png

    I saw it ones at the auto show,but did not get any info on it ...700+ Baht a can(I think it was)...quite a markup...

    you might be able to contact Plastidip Thailand directly, I'm sure this chap will be able to tell you where stocks it, or they may be able to send to you directly http://www.plastidip-thailand.com/contact/

  6. hi Hansnl, have you contacted your insurance guys yet? Did the bullet pass through into the car or is it only panel damafe? Hopefully they'll just be able to replace the door for you,. But...if they can't sort it out then you might as well get a new set of gangsta rapper style rims to complete the look! :)

    let us know what they say if you can, cheers

  7. I seen this recently on a Thai based forum, can get complete kits for de-chromed parts for XLT for those who wish to change (having seen Funcat's pics though, I think the white grille & mirrors looks great by the way) Also, note the standard XLT wheels but the owner has them a different color.

  8. On the subject of fuel consumption I dunno if this would be of interest or not to anyone here, but you might want to check out http://www.fuelly.com/ It's a website that helps you track your fuel usage etc. There's a few people already using it with Ford Rangers in Thailand - might be a good way to compare what averages everyone is getting. It's worldwide and features loads of different makes/models of vehicles - so if anything it may be a good resource for those looking to buy.

  9. ^ I can confirm that. I dealt with Boom at Ford Sri Nakarin over the last 10 months and spoke with him as recently as today (he called me to ask how I was getting on with my new Ford Ranger that I picked up recently and seeing if I needed any help with anything - good eh?), He's a really nice young guy who speaks excellent English and I rate him highly. PM me for his contact details if you need them. Also at Sri Nakarin Branch - Seacon Square Sales & Service is Khun Aey, who has worked at Ford for 15 years or so, she knows her onions too. Cheers.

  10. @BkkJames - duly noted, cheers pal! :)

    @CDNinKS - I ordered mine originally at the BKK Motor Expo in December 2011, although when I ordered I specified WT 4x2 and White Color. A few months ago I had received the official letter (and an extra small t-shirt) from Ford telling me I had to wait until December 2012 for it. Then out of the blue last week I had a phone call from my Ford Dealer who said that with a bit of trickery and magic he could get the 4x4 version quicker and asked me if I wanted to change, so I went for it. So in the grand scheme of things Feb doesn't sound outrageous - even though it probably seems ages away for you right now! No probs, I'll let you know about the camera when I've had it installed.

  11. I collected my WT 2.2 4x4 from Ford in BKK yesterday and drove back to Pattaya. I was a tad nervous navigating my way out of traffic and seemingly developed a healthy form of tourettes whenever a motorbike or car got too close (it would be great if the voice recognition woman had repeated some of the phrases I was using) biggrin.png

    I am really suprised at how easy and comfortable it is to drive (my very short test drive was over 9 months ago!). The ride height is great and alot different to what I have been used to. I got to use my auto lights and wipers on way home on account it was chucking it down and skies were black., After getting home I sat in it for a few hours parked outside my house (on a Saturday night! I must be getting old!) trying to use the Bluetooth stuff, which my 11 year old kindly figured out for me.

    I had 4 zone reverse parking sensors fitted at Ford, but I will also go get a reversing camera fitted in the next few days, for the wife of course *cough*. I have seen loads of examples on the web, but if anyone has had one fitted in the Pattaya area I would really appreciate any pointers.

    Only downside is that the truck doesn't fit on my driveway, Now the missus wants a bigger house rolleyes.gif Overall though, I am very pleased I waited. Cheers!

  12. I found one shop in town whom will crystal coat(GLASS COAT) the car for only 9990 bhat,,, i think this price is a lot more reasonable then the 20-40k price quotes i have been getting,,,, the product they use is also from japan same as the d-pro brand,,, i am still looking for some feedback from anyone out there who has had this product done to there cars,,, cheers,,

    Can you give me the name/details/location of the shop that you found please? Would appreciate it, thanks.

  13. came across these pics on a Thai ranger forum, seems like they're making "wildtrak" leather seat covers for those who opted for the XLT with cloth trim. 5,800 Baht

    Leather for 5 800 Baht ?...that looks like pretty cheap vinyl "look'a'like"...

    Leather-ish. Lets not get hung up on the finer details eh. :)

  14. Hi,

    Pattaya City FC is an established local amateur expat football club playing in the MGMB International League, playing home games at the prestigious Thai Polo Club in Pattaya (you may have seen our match reports in the Pattaya Mail sports pages).

    They hold training sessions on Tuesdays & Thursdays at Horseshoe Point and would like to invite anyone to come along and participate, whether you wish to join the squad with a view to playing, or even if its just to get in shape. You don't therefore need to be fit, but it's an advantage if you're not hooked up to a dialysis machine smile.png

    The squad is currently made up of players of many ages & nationalities (up to 50+ years). Players are students, professional expats working on the Eastern Seaboard and also long term visitors to Pattaya. Some players from our 1st Team have progressed to play professionally in the Thai League, whilst others in the Reserves can still be found in Soi 6 sporting their favourite Beer Chang Vest & flip-flop ensemble.

    If you are interested, or might know of someone who may be interested please feel free to get in touch, or visit their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pattayacityfc to see the matchday photos & fun stuff and ask any questions there.

    Similarly, if you've hung up your boots or not interested in playing/training but would like to simply come along and watch the games, quaff a cold beer and talk football, you'll be made very welcome. It's a club with family values so you can bring the wife and kids along too.There's a really good social side to match days, it's a different way to spend a Saturday afternoon/early evening with the Polo Club providing a splendid backdrop to home games. A shaded seating area is provided, along with beer, soft drinks and food.

    Cheers

  15. I ordered the gold 2.2 Wildtrax.

    Was thinking about the 3.2, but I live in Bangkok and drive in the city mainly so I decided to stick with the 2.2, plus I cant be bothered waiting....

    But, anyone know when the BT-50's 3.2 come out? Just curious.

    I didn't know they did a Gold colour Wildtrak. At the time I ordered mine there was a choice of Cool White, Black Mica, Highlight Silver, Metropolitan Grey (plus the Chili Orange for 3.2)

  16. I reached the conclusion that I am happy to wait for the new Ford Ranger. It's what I wanted in the first place and I know that I'll be happiest with it, regardless of the delay. I haven't had any issues with the Ford customer service - they're obviously having a tough time of it.

    So go ahead, stomp your feet and demand your princely 5,000 Baht back if you wish. As for me, it's the New Ford Ranger baby! yeah

  18. Great news mate, well done.

    Just over 1 hour ago I received visas by courier for my TW and stepdaugter and am over the moon. We handed the application in on 17th, so its not a bad turnaround. It was my first time applying and felt a bit lost at times but I'm sure others will benefit from the advice and experiences such as yours shared on the forum. (Edit: Including good advice from forum sponsors Visas Plus and Thai Visa Express too).

    Right.... now to spend a small fortune on the flights argh!
