Thailand should close its border and order a travel ban from USA, UK, and Europe, the countries that cannot control it effectively. It is the only way to stop infection and save lives.
They already have a ban on the US

Half of our village also attended and there were folks there from a number of different areas, including from the south. And as always there was no opportunity for 'social distancing'. (did we ever use that term before?)
It could have been the 'perfect storm'. Just one person from an area with C19 could have spread it out into the Issan area, where so far, to my knowledge, there have been no cases.
There was one upside to the event. To maintain my own personal 'social distancing, I opted to travel solo on my motorcycle and had a really great 300kms round trip. ????
Songkran was my big concern too and I was very glad to read that they decided to 'bite the bullet' on that one.
Wait until the bar girls return home cause of no work

It would be an even bigger help if they could explain to people that sharing the same food with their fingers is unhygienic at the best of times but dangerous now. Ditto the sharing of cutlery and glasses, but how do they get this message through to a population that's been living like this for its entire life?
And teach them to wash dishes with hot water not cold but then my wife does this and says she ain't changing ????

I think the PM is scheduled to address the nation tonight, maybe 18:30.
A lot of infections seem to have come from this Chachoengsao PAO chairman: he attended weddings, temple fairs, boxing matches (Actor Mattherw Deane, Army General infected by him there), cock fighting, hospitals, elderly advocates. The effects are probably too frightening to release at once? He's definitely a super-spreader.
Lot's of rumors flying. Newin trying to quarantine Buriram, that one seems backed up by semi-official posts.
The pm did address the nation I wish they would have had it translated into English like they did his Friday night talks before the so-called election

It's a great idea, if everyone knew about it and even knew how to use it.
I mean many Thais gals I let in my Condo can't even figure out how to turn the light on in my bathroom and it's only a push button switch as opposed to a toggle.
What do you expect from someone that just left a grass hut in a rice paddy

It was interesting to see how the different countries are taking different approaches to tackling this virus.
In Korea they are doing mass testing to try and catch the virus at an early stage. I read the other day that a Covid-19 test in Thailand can cost up to 13,000 Baht, so some people avoid being tested. Wouldn't it be a good idea for the government to give a large budget to the health authorities and make testing free for everyone?
But that would cut into the money for submarines

Conwood - concrete wood? Used as a substitute for planks on the exterior of buildings, or making decking. Durable, but not very strong if you accidentally bend it. Termites do not like it much. Shera wood another similar product.
Ok I know what your talking about just never heard it called that and yes you definitely need a mask

I actually NEEDED a mask (any mask) today, cutting some Conwood, loads of dust.
Could I find any sort of mask? Nope. Had to fix the old 3M one with tape.
Legit question what is conwood?

Calm down now, I am far removed from the panic and hysteria I am seeing everywhere, I am a great believer in my immune system being able to fight!
But I have zero faith in the present "government" to do anything correctly, possibly they could stage an excellent circus? ????

Why would the staff need to wear a mask? Kabin Buri is 200 k from any known "infection" or are people wearing them everywhere now - regardless.
No they probably don't need to wear one but these morons in govt are telling everyone to wear them and I haven't seen where they are specifing what areas

Just left a private hospital in Kabin Buri no face masks available and only a few of the staff wearing one

100,000 too many and they should stop a single person further from coming. If we end up with a major outbreak in Thailand it will be the fault of the Brainless Nerks in Government House and i just hope they are the first to be contaminated !
It won't be they're fault and they won't be the first to get it. The ones making the decisions and the ones above them are in their purified air sealed rooms not worrying about the people just their money. Now if we can change the oxygen to carbon monoxide things will get better soon

Tips for keeping virus free.
Wear face masks during visits to Big Care. Tesco or 7/11. And use the alcohol gel to clean the shopping basket or cart's handle.
Insist that any bar-girl you might fancy keeps her mask on.
Don't keep touching your face or other peoples' unless you are sure they have not got the virus.
Don't share tooth brushes or chopsticks until virus has gone.
Simple things are sensible and could keep us alive.
Who in the heck would share tooth brushes that is beyond nasty

Would someone please explain what a red plate means in this case? Is it a diplomat's plate?
So both of these guys are not tourists? Why pass it to the tourist police?
Maybe the culprit escaped LOS by getting a bunch of Korean friends together and passing themselves off as a boy band.
