  1. My one year non B extension expires 31 December. There are no issues about it being renewed, but does anyone know how far before that I can do the extension. I will be in Bangkok on the 15th and would like to avoid another trip.

I tried calling them but can't get a straight answer to this simple question. Might be my bad Thai though.....

    Thanks!

  2. Are there any any VIP buses to Bangkok similar to the Mai Sai bus that has one seat on one side and two on the other?

What is the best bus company? I guess I could buy two seats if I need to. I just don't feel like spending 10 hours with a stranger's head resting on my shoulder and the train is all booked.

Any recent experiences buying bus tickets?

Gotta get to Bangkok next week.

    Thanks for your help!

  3. No prblbem, just take it to the ticket sales booth and they will immediatly refund it less a 20 percent penalty with no paperwork -- up to 48 hours before scheduled departure and then 50 percent (I think) penalty.

Coincidentaly I just returned from booking a ticker and refunding a different one at the train station. You can also change the date for 50 baht.

  4. Two to four hours per day as an aerobics instructor at California WOW at decibal levels well above 100 is long term exposure beyond most of the examples cited above. Google about it and read what it will do.........

    Decibel Exposure Time Guidelines

Accepted standards for recommended permissible exposure time for continuous time weighted average noise, according to NIOSH and CDC, 2002. For every 3 dBs over 85dB, the permissible exposure time before possible damage can occur is cut in half.

  5. This is a company which is knowingly permanently destroying the hearing of its employees. They know that occupational safety laws in every developed country prohibit long term exposure to noise (even music) ove a certain decibel level.

What kind of human beings would injure young people who don't know any better just for the sake of brand identity?

I will answer that question. The same kind of people that put melamine in milk they knew would go to babies.

  6. Ihope the owner decides to enclose and air condition the restaurant to save his obvious labor of love from a quick demise. Ít''s hopelessly loud and polluted and blasting the music to drown out the traffic noise just makes in more unpleasant. But that's just me, maybe others find it acceptable and I'm overly sensitive.

  7. From yesterdays Bangkok Post:

Department deputy director-general Wuthichai Singhamanee said yesterday there were still defects in the airline's flight manual and managerial structure. The suspension was further extended until Monday.

Mr Wuthichai said the department wants Thai executives to take over the management of One-Two-Go.

He argued foreign managers who were running the airline were so obsessed with making profits that they arranged schedules which prevented pilots taking refresher training or resting sufficiently between flights.

This attitude was definitely a threat to the safety of pasengers.

Foreign executives were only interested in making maximum profit without being concerned with the improvement of pilot efficiency, he said.

He expected Thai managers would emphasise quality standards, understand Thai corporate culture and promote Thai-style services.
