Flying into BKK after long stay
Kevinphall replied to farangbuffalo's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I had very similar history and also left for 5 months, I’ve just returned with SETV. The IO was flicking through all my stamps tutting and shaking her head - but she didn’t even ask any questions just stamped me in. I think I would have been dragged aside if I tried to enter just in Visa exempt. -
I did 12 months in covid extensions, went home for 5 months and came back yesterday with evisa. She did ask a lot more questions than I’ve ever been asked before (to see my onward travel, plans when here, what I do for her work etc) but then did get in no problems. I’d recommend getting an evisa too as added security I think they are more hesitant to refuse these. There seemed to be a lot more grilling of entrants all round not just me.

I’m a UK resident but I’m spending 2 month in turkey before onward to Bangkok. The e visa site says country of residence / current location. If I put turkey it says not eligible but for uk says eligible. Can I do the e visa if not flying from my country of residence ?

Covid extensions

Could be the case - both were dressed more for the beach than immigration- don’t think that helps. -

Think an agent best bet - French guy was offering to show proof of where his income was from and they wasn’t interested - wasn’t even the io explaining just a volunteer girl - presumably because her English was perfect. -

That’s strange all of my covid extensions have been added on to the current last date not from when I applied. But think it varies dependent on where you go. Nice of them to be helpful tho it defo wasn’t Bangkok then ???? -

Yeah Lak si - heard her say you’ve been here over 12 months now and people are abusing covid extensions to work here and the officer thinks you might be too. One was French the other looked Chinese -

I got my extension no worries - weirdly given me 41 days instead of 30 but no complaints about that. Much prefer Lak si - so much more organised and great being able to use mrt / red line to get there no taxi. -
Just seen two guys get refused their extension - they was told it appears they are working in Thailand. I’m still waiting so fingers crossed ???? First time I’ve seen a refusal with my own eyes I’m doing a visa exempt extension as went to Singapore for a week so keep your fingers crossed for me ???? (I have had 3 covid extensions before )

Thailand Pass still required for all those entering Thailand
Kevinphall replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Happy for it to stay - did yesterday for trip to Singapore, it took 5 minutes and got pass back same day. Rather have it pre approved than the stress whether docs are going to be accepted on arrival.- 48 replies
