How much do the average Thai person earn ?
JeffersLos replied to Baron Samedi's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
There isn't a single decimal point in my post. -
"The driver of a truck, passenger vehicle, motorcycle, vehicle of low speed or traveling at lower speed than those of other vehicles moving in the same direction, shall keep to the curbside of the roadway as close as possible. If such a roadway is divided into two or more traffic lanes in the same direction or has a bus lane specifically arranged on the left-hand side, the driver shall drive the vehicle in the outermost left-hand side lane or close to the bus lane, as the case may be." The driver of a motorcycle moving in the same direction, shall keep to the curbside of the roadway as close as possible. If such a roadway is divided into two or more traffic lanes, the driver shall drive the vehicle in the outermost left-hand side lane. Stop lying to people, Richard. You could get them fined, or worse. ????

The scooter rider was in the wrong. "The driver of a motorcycle shall keep to the curbside of the roadway as close as possible. If such a roadway is divided into two or more lanes in the same direction, the driver shall drive the vehicle in the outermost left-hand side lane." He should have been respecting the laws of Thailand, and the incident wouldn't have happened. They are lucky the police didn't fine them 400-1000B.

A bigger one that will wipe out the planet may have happened 2.5b lightyears ago. We're just waiting for it to arrive. Don't bother paying taxes and traffic fines just in case.- 41 replies

Do you walk around the places you go to, or do you use a wheelchair?

Thai spouse and siblings (most are settled in Bangkok) earn between 150,000-350,000THB per month. Their friends from school, university and work would presumably earn around the same, but I (or we) have never asked or really wondered.- 249 replies

Well done for staying here to volunteer. What volunteering did you do here? -

I hope he didn't damage the water. -
???? Do you know anything about visas here. They are given for specific reasons. The question of why he was/is staying here is important in giving proper advice for applying for visas and extensions. When an alien applies for a visa, they state the reason for their stay here (tourism, education, volunteering, family (spouse or child), retirement, etc. and based on that which visa they are applying for. If an alien stayed here for more than 2 years, and is asking for visa advice, them giving their reason for being here is probably the most important aspect of their visa application.

An older car of ours (around 12 years old) has gotten very creaky up at the front lately, when going over little bumps, and it evens seems to happen when turning. We had new suspension forks/wishbones put in around 2 years ago (11,000THB IIRC) When the road is wet or it's raining, the creaking noise isn't there, which indicates it is external. Perhaps some grease is needed somewhere on the suspension/steering assembly? I don't trust mechanics all that much. Any ideas about what could be the cause? TIA.

We were out of town for one week, when we got back the PWA water bill was in the mail box, when we went to pay it online using our banking application (as always), it said it was too late. Figuring that it would be added to this month's bill, we left it alone. It was added to this month's bill. But this month's bill is missing all the barcodes etc to scan with the banking applications. I entered the ref codes manually into the bank application's utilities bills, and it comes up that it cannot be paid due to overdue payment. For the life of me I cannot fathom why there is a set time of 1-2 weeks to pay the monthly bill, then they shut down all remote methods of payment. I mean, I really want to pay our bills, the bills in my hand, but they have blocked these avenues of payment. So how/where can I pay the PWA bill? TIA.
