  1. I might be mistaken but changing visa types is not overly simple in particular marriage visa. I went from a retirement visa to a marriage visa and the amount of paperwork was amazing, including photos of me and wife in every room of our house and a vist to our home by immigration police to check we actually lived there. In answer to your question, l believe you will need you wife with you. Good luck
  2. Expats can in most cases obtain a pink Thai ID card. As such a system is already in place.
  3. No l think it’s actually a good thing going public it might make others have second thoughts on trying this. Good on him. I would take it all the way too and see how far l could push this thing through the media, lose if face at her end.
  4. How to get from Airport in Udon Thani to Nong Khai?: I drove to Nong Khai yesterday to visit some Thai friends, from Udon it took me about 90 minutes with a coffee stop.
  5. I am a Western living in Thailand and l am not offended by the word and based on others who have commented nor are they, as such it makes me ask why do you believe Westerners are offended? At the end of the day everything comes down to context, as an example, being Australian l could say (how are you mate) and this would be fine and even polite l could also say (l will smash your …….head in mate) same would different context. Anyway have a good day mate.
  6. In my area smoke and smog is not an overwhelming issue most of the year, l think the bigger problem is the high levels of diabetes and alcohol abuse.
  7. You did not mention aged beef in your initial post. In my area l have never seen aged beef, l guess that’s because locals as far as l am aware do not consume it at least where l live.
  8. Buy from local markets in the mornings it’s nearly always fresh. Never had a problem.
  9. I am sure that if you contact Bangkok Hospital in Ud, they would be able to assist. Best of luck.
  10. Restaurants have been open for some time now, at least in Central Plaza.
  11. Thank you for posting this. I hope the hospital in Udon Thani opens up the same booking process.
  12. My wife had a similar call last week from a Thai female. The caller who was very angry said my wife owed X amount and if it was not paid the police would visit her within the hour. We do not owe anyone any money so the wife told the caller to bring the police no problem and she would be wait for them. Obviously no one showed up, the only interesting thing is the caller knew the district we live in but did not know my wifes name.
