Never got my call back from TOT so called again.
Spoke to third person blah blah... "I'll pass it onto customer service."
So, I asked them to send this on (very politely) to customer services; "do you realize just how many customers you are pissing off (alternative phrase used here) and how many your going to lose if you don't stop messing about and sort something out?"
Suppose its good news for the non-torrent using TOT folk and the other providers.
I'm giving a couple of days monitoring and if nothing improves I'm off.
Given this, any suggestions on a different provider - has anyone experienced these type of problems with others? Neighbour has true and says its great. I'm in CM.
Problem is, contracts are signed for 12 months at a time. Just walking in to the office and trying to cancel might prove difficult. I've only recently signed for another 12 months Anyone got advice?

I'm having the same problem all http trackers are blocked I can only download very slowly via DHT using Bittorrent. I went to the TOT office about 100m up the road and they were unaware of torrents being blocked and denied having placed any restrictions on torrents. They told me they would find out what was going on and give me a call but I'm not holding my breath
I might pay them another visit later today if it doesn't go back to normal, because I'm trying to download rugby matches and noone comes between a kiwi and his rugby:angry:
They're giving everyone the "We'll ring you back" line. They never do!

Just a reminder to anybody having issues with thebox.
Please check that your client (uTorrent, Vuze etc) is an allowed version. thebox started banning all kinds of bad clients recently and if you're using an unapproved one you'll not get any data. Check their website announcements for a list of approved client programs.
Also don't try and hide behind a proxy or VPN. They have banned that as well.
Once you've cleared both those hurdles then you can start yelling at TOT.
Go to page one of this thread and read all the pages

I am currently getting 297KB download on my 3MB line!!!!!
You do know that that you can update your TOT subscription to 4MB without any cost?
No I did not' date=' any more information?? That would be great thanks!
[/quote']
Thought so! Just call into any TOT office and sign a new agreement. The price remains 590Baht. It's then just a case of going home and changing your user name in the modem to 'telephone number'@tothome. About 1 hour later it'll be working

THis has got to be one of the fastest growing threads of all time...............18 pages in a matter of hours!
GOOD.The more people get on the phone to TOT the better. No doubt some smart asre is sitting in his office right now pleased with how much bandwidth he's saving TOT from purchasing, but when next months revenue figures hit the desk heads are going to roll.....Just my opinion

TOT is now working in ChiangMai
Cockup or conspiracy, this is Thailand, my vote is cockup
Private trackers such as TheBox?
Everything is still dead here in Phuket
-
You waste precious bandwidth torrenting crap from British telly???!!!
As against the mindless crap shown on Thai TV...
How on earth could you prefer to watch British TV when there at least 6 fabulous channel of wonderful screeching Thai soap operas or almost paedophilic children singing mothers day songs clad in enough make up to make a bargirl blush! Give me more, in fact I believe it is possible to get a cheap sat system here that will open up a complete new world, including TV from Burma and Nepal, I have seen a sample and believe me, with this extensive list, you will cancel your internet connection immediately, as you sit enthralled by the magnificent selection of constantly innovative programming that they offer!
-
Maybe best to separate web site access from the issue of tracker access?
You can use http://www.downforeveryone.com/ to check web site access. kickass: down, btjunkie: up (but performing maintenance), torrentday: up.
The link appears to be dead
Correction, my fault!
-
I've just checked the status of my Utorrent client and two of my UkNova torrents have just resumed but those from TheBox/TheEmpire remain dead
-
Just phoned TOT again, clueless.
Asked if they were restricting/blocking certain traffic etc. They said they have to send the problem to the 'back office'.
I asked if they'd had many complaints about this? She said this is the first call!
I told them I'd cancel if its not sorted - I'm expecting a call back! I'm not holding my breath!
Surprised they're working today. It's a public holiday I believe

TOT CM working fine downloading for me. Fine yesterday, fine today....
I'm on Ubuntu and use Deluge as my download programme.
Interesting. Are you downloading from private trackers such as TheBox?
-
Here as another link that they can be told what we think!
http://www.totisp.net/index-5.html
And here you can check to make sure that they are actually providing you with about half of the bandwidth you are paying for!
Thanks for the link. I'd suggest all those affected put their feeling in writing and click the send button. Maybe, just maybe someone is listening. I've also posted them the link to this forum thread

Seriously- I am no expert. Can someone send me a link to a torrent that they CAN'T download and I'll try it. I don't use private trackers but I've had no problem all day. (More than can be said for FBook)
Go to Demonoid or TPB and pick one - Any one. I can't download anything.

Torrents using UDP are working okay, using HTTP no change.
Started two new torrents using UDP okay so far with good speeds.
Would publish the names of the 2 UDP trackers that I use, but you never know who might be reading this.
Could you PM them to me. Cheers

Sign up for a VPN service like itshidden.
Your entire traffic is routed securely through The Netherlands.
Private trackers such as TheBox don't allow VPN's ....as per my previous posts
Not true. Read up about VPN's before continuing your futile thread on pressuring TOT! The reference you sent (twice) refers to anonymous proxies, even tho it states VPN which is confusing, which ratio sites like Box ban as they hide users usage stats.
What's confusing about three little letters, VPN? I'm happy for you if you're still able to download from TheBox, but you're likely to get banned sooner or later.
-
All sites seem to be blocked now. Before 10 O'clock I could still download Demonoid and MVGroup
-
Again, is it possible to direct the moralists to another thread?
It's that 'time of night' when the alcohol taking effect on the posts
-
It's after 10 PM. Time to report on results for blocked private trackers. In my case, NOT FIXED.
Same here, not that I really expected anything else
-
As a frequent user of torrent from many many places(free wifi coffee shops rock) in Bangkok and
Pattaya I can say no blocks at all in the last month. And I have 30GB of files to prove it!
Remember there are many reasons for no connection
and that yellow warning sign, including a bad router and torrent connection cut off from
further upstream. This happens sometimes with piratebay as they are constantly in a war of
whack-a-mole with the authorities,
So you've tried downloading a torrent from TOT today have you? What happened days, weeks ago is irrelevant. Read the thread from page 1 and when you get to 13 you'll understand the problem.
-
Hmm... Wouldn't it be fair if we paid for the resources we consume, like your electric or water meter?
Which resources, exactly, are we "consuming"?
Torrents are consuming now about 70% of the TOT usable bandwidth.
As a result serious Internet users are experiencing a very slow browsing and uploading performance....
You've missed the point altogether. TOT HAVE BLOCKED TORRENTS
-
10 PM Thai time could be next week ...
-
I don't understand why they have focused only on private trackers. Do you think they'll come back at night?
It's been posted a few pages back that service will resume as normal after 10pm. I'm clock watching
I read that but I won't believe it until I see it, TOT being TOT.
11 minutes to go

Chiang Mai here, returned home this evening and the torrents I was seeding all blocked (Nova & Thebox).
Phoned TOT asked them if they were blocking and was given no reply. She instructed me to log on to my modem and changed the password???
Anyway been trialling stuff in Utorrent since:
Uknova: fine normal.
Thebox: blocked
Extv: fine normal
Random others: a mix some getting blocked others not
I agree with others UK tv and sports are what keep me going.
Anyone have a clue what this will do for the new Premier Season i.e. streaming through p2p - noticed sopcast wasn't working during the World Cup?
Have you tried downloading a NEW torrent from Uknova, torrents already in your download list might still work? It's still blocked for me

I PM'd davvywolf at TheBOx last night and he confirms that you CANNOT download torrents from TheBox or TheEmpire using a VPN/TOR/PROXY. Maybe you've been lucky up to now....I might have to give it a try myself
