  1. It makes sense (a new PM now):

    1. an election is looming, and

    2. polling may show that Prayut is now too much on the nose,

... so maybe it is time to put a new wolf in the sheep's clothes, and hope they can pull off a hat-trick:

    1. Coup,

    2. Election win (with senate on-side),

    3. Rinse and repeat No. 2

  2. What exactly is strict surveillance

    - quaratine for anyone who has recently been in China?

    - closure of all parks where migrating birds are known to flock?

... it seems as if nothing has been learned. It looks like everything here is just "wait and see" (nothing pro-active) ... and if it's a disaster, then, oh well, "here we go again."

Come on Thailand! Put your thinking hats on! Remember, the last disaster started like this:1610927728179.jpg.38e954d9c5038d8ce8c43950988e2963.jpg

  3. At least if you're at the restaurant you can send under-cooked meat back to the kitchen (which I've had to do all too often here) - not so with home delivery, as per the OP. But I never give the restaurant a second chance after that.

Same happens here with pre-cooked foods like lasagne: all to often - burnt on the cornors, stone cold on the inside.

But for the defamation laws, I could give a list of all the sins committed by all my nearby restaurants.

In short, I mostly cook at home now.

  4. An acquired taste for sure - I never go near it.

With it's raw vegetables, baby crab shells, etc, I'd just privately assumed that it must used as a purgative ... to ensure a firm stool the following day.

... you see, Thais are people too, and have the same concerns we do ... and just do things differently.
