They must be from Australia. Our dollar is a totally joke!!!! Lowest in 20 years :(((((((
It cost more to drink and party in Thailand than back in Australia now :((
I just came back from sukhumvit to Australia, Atleast in australia we have alot of bargains.
For examlple i had a burger, chips and a coke for 1$ yesterday here in brisbane, where as in bangkok the same meal is 7-8$.
thailand is a ripoff , Those bar girls are all greedy and scammy, Mostly out looking for the next rich guy to scheme on.

I came here because of CCCs new video.

One thing that bothers me is immigrants here in australia.
One indian who i met in the city came and befriended me for a couple days and on the third day asked me if i had a dollar for coffee as he didnt want to break a 50$ I sayed to him that i dont carry cash.
He proceeded to ignore me from then on, like i some how offended him.
The west is good but we got all the entitled selfish scummy immigrants that go with it.
i would send em all home in 1 second if i could, What's wrong with there own country that they don't stay there ?

Just got home to OZ , Way cheaper for fast food and 7/11 coffee is free for the next 2 weeks if you bring your own cup .
We have no fake cloths either everything is original, The beer is high quality an there us beautiful curvy women everywhere.
Australia ia the best country on earth, Thailand has lost its appeal, Most left a long time ago, In saying that, When the baht weakens to 25 i will return.

Thais i found were easily entertained by sitting on there phones 18 hours and eating rice, when i was younger i actually found there behaviour to be quite primitive.
Thais are easily entertained, The require minimal stimulation to get through the day, Oil rig workers, FIFO miners and retired blue collar workers can cope easier than someone with a higher intellect who will most likely battle the boredom with the bottle or eventually lose there mind.
Thailand is not the holy grail.

A great post, indeed. We could meet this gentleman, invite him to a Mama and a big bottle of the best water 7 Eleven has to offer.
Including a plastic back for his waste, of course.
And then we could make a field trip to the best bars and establishments, chose our lady for the night (of course not shared) to make him understand what he's missing.
Of course, will we buy him one more water when back on the road?i figured if i actually searched harder i could cut the budget to an all up amount of 300 THB including the room, even less, i could do it for 200 a day, that would require buying coffee in bulk from big c.
searching the back sois for 1 baht reverse osmosis water and finding some ultra cheap thai omelette on rice too would slice the budget in half.
its very doable, my 250 THB budget is not even penny pinching at all compared to what i could save if i really wanted.

BTW I was staying in a hostel on sukhumvit for 100 THB per night so my full budget was 350THB per day.
There was a few really hot bar girls in the dorm but they werent uninterested in a old alcoholic bum like me....

Dont lie to your self,
if you wanna do anything but eat rice coffee and 7/11 food in your house your gonna have an empty wallet fast.
burger on sukhumvit is 310THB
a pizza is 600THB
a beer is 220THB....
rip off prices, This is no way worth it.

So very sorry to hear. My worst nightmare. Waking up in the morning, and having to count every baht I spend. My life would essentially be over. For me, not much joy in that. I guess to each his own.
I want to be like this, i enjoy living on the cheap, Thais actually trat me better when they know theres no money to ripoff, I meet genuine thais this way ,Not ones pretending to be my friends for money.

Good post, could you live cheaper say in Pattaya ?
Anything's possible, But for now i think Bangkok is a better option.
Pattaya would take a higher level of self control, Here in bangkok I prefer to be a little bit poor , It helps control urges.

lived this last 7days in sukhumvit from 200-300 THB per day
my routine here
Wake up early ,
1x coffee from 7/11 = 14 THB
1x dry noodle pork soup = 50 THB
1× big aura mineral water = 22 THB
Proceed to return to room to relax , sleep, TV , Wifi and shower.
Mid day
1x chicken rice =50 thb
1x M 150 = 10 thb
1x fruit from vender = 20 THB
Proceed to return to room, Sleep , TV , aircon, WIFI resting .
Night time is here.
1x Hamburger/coke/fries 69 THB
1x 7/11 ice cream 15 THB .
Proceed to wonder around sukhumvit and people watch followed by sleep and relax in room.
My conclusion is if you dont drink, Thailand is actually a very cheal country to live in, 10000 THB per month should cover basic living and provide enough free time to work on personal improvement.
Exersize, study, self improvement and learning thai.

Build a playground for the kids in the village, if you live in one or go to the local hospital and donate to them, equipment or upgrades to the kiddies ward etc are always welcome.
Don't forget to put the donation on a big novelty check and put on Facebook for everybody to see.

Be careful that you don't upset the wrong people.
Doing something good is obviously good. But if some influential locals don't like what you do because you upset how things work then you won't only make friends. Be careful and think
Would he go around the poorer schools in the UK and volunteer ?
if not then why do it here?

Thai food is better than loas, cambodia ,Myanmar and Philippine food.
Philipines food was horrid, I went to a party and they served rancid pork and i got sick for weeks, Cambodians are very sweet people and make the thais look cold hearted in comparison, to bad there beer is poison.

I find it amusing ( and sad) that it appears so many posters seem to acquaint a life less boring with the availability of women, and the cost of alcohol
What ever happened to being a descent human, and treating all with respect, I see very little respect expressed towards women and their contribution to community and their partners.
The is so much more to living in a country than the availability of women and alcohol, try culture, food, art, environment, contributing to the community in which you live.
I wonder how many of the posters would be alone if they returned to their countries of origin.
Whose fault is that?

Agreed, one of the problems about banging bar girls, you can never go back, other women just aren't that interesting in bed. Not only that, but bar girls give much better 'feelings of love' and 'feelings of being special' than the women that really claim to love you from home.
But it's only Thai girls hookers that can do this, they are so much better at faking it than anyone else I've ever met. One of the repeated posts that come up in this forum 'would you do that with a hooker in your own country?' Of course you wouldn't, in fact after sampling Thai hookers, I wouldn't do that with any woman from my home country.
And if I could go back in time, I would undo all the relationships I had with 'respectable women' in my home country (all ultimately unsatisfactory), and just save myself (and my money) for Thai hookers.
Best advice I've heard in my entire life, Really puts things into perspective.

Thailand still cheap if you know how to do it correctly.
just eat street food and live in dorms designed for refugees and working girls like i did , you will be fine.
