It was to be expected, it is now against the law to walk into a bank without wearing a mask.

If the drinking was not illegal why did the police take the booze away as evidence? That could be taken as theft or corruption which the PM has promised to stamp out.

82851 people have been vaccinated by 25 non hospital sites since the beginning of mass inoculations, that means each site has only jabbed 3314 people on average. That does not seem a lot if they intend to vaccinate the whole country by the end of the year.

I have the solution, husband drowns wife and in a hurry to exit the pool stumbles, bangs his head and drowns. Case closed.

13 clusters in migrant camps and 12 clusters in markets, so why are markets allowed to remain open? 1 cluster in a hi-so bar in Bangkok so all bars and entertainment venues closed with no mention of when they might open, hardly logical as there are thousands of people out of work for who knows how long.
There are some of us who believe some bars are safer than markets.

Doesn't look like any bars will be opening soon.

I have a little hobby farm of 2 rai which we grow cocoa, various fruits, mushrooms and raise chickens. All I do is potter around the farm for 2-3 hours a day with no problems so as long as you do not make it to obvious you should be ok. I don't know of any falang who can or would want to work 10 hrs a day in this heat anyway. Good luck.

You have more chance of contracting covid from markets than you have from small controlled open bars and restaurants.

In reply to recom273, why is it the policemans fault for choosing to uphold the law?
The police were only doing their job so why not ask yourself the following,
1) What were 15 year olds doing out at 2.30 in the morning?
2) Why didn't they stop when instructed to by the police?
3) Why weren't they wearing helmets.
My first thought would be they were up to no good so I have no sympathy for the kids and i congratulate the police for doing there job for a change.

Buying beer from your local ma and pa shop is fine but from time to time it is nice to wander down to your local and have a yarn with some of your mates over a cold beer. Personally I like to go to my local once a week to speak english to friends, it helps me to keep my sanity.

Where do they get these figures from? There are more than 788000 unemployed in the entertainment industry alone and I remember reading more than 2 million in the tourism and hotel industry.

Last week I believe they were going to vaccinate 70% of the whole population by August not 11 provinces.

It should be easy to control the outbreak in prisons, it is a captive audience.

I agree with timendres, I wear glasses to drive and when wearing a mask my glasses fog up hence dangerous to drive. My wife does not drive so how are we supposed to do our grocery shopping and other errands.

I have the same problem with my pickup except only on my side doors so I now put a sun hat on top of my side mirrors and it seems to have done the trick.

Why should restaurants be open and sell alcohol when all bars are shut? I am talking about smaller bars not big nightclubs where people are crammed together, there are a lot of staff without any income not only from restaurants so the govt should not open restaurants without bars. We can all eat and drink at home without any problems until we all get the jab.

Not a single mask in sight yet now I have to wear a mask in the car. What happens if I have an accident because my glasses fog up while wearing a mask and driving???

I have just had the same experience today from the Chaiyaphum Immigration office they would not issue me with a Certificate of Residence instead they told me to get my name on my wife's house book or get a yellow book issued.

They are quick to blame entertainment venues when all have been closed since 10th of April, they will be the last to open yet again.

Happened to me last week, a truck traveling in the other direction had a rock fly off the back straight into my windscreen. Nothing I could do because it happened so fast, insecure loads that the police do nothing about, if it were a motorbike that was hit he would have been dead for sure.

I put the aircon on in the bedroom for about half an hour before I go to bed just to cool the room down then we sleep with the fan on. As far as cooking goes the only reason I know we have a kitchen is the fridge is located there otherwise I would never have to set foot in that room.

For some reason everyone is centered on bar girls only, they cannot find other jobs because there are none. You must remember that while the bars are closed everyone suffers from the ice man, the food carts, the bottle stores, the nic nac carts, 7/11s, not to mention the money they send home to family's and the list goes on and on. So have a little sympathy as they get no help whatsoever from their govt.

Pattaya: Let us reopen and serve alcohol again, entertainment industry leader echoes calls for reopening

You will have the choice to open or remain closed, open and you will have to cover your own costs, supplies/stock/overheads and staff.
There will be no-more lets go halves, no more handouts, no more subsidies, no more government help.
The PM's answer will be "THE BORDERS ARE OPEN"
No tourists... tuff luck, I've done all I can and the borders are open.
You will see more businesses go under in the first six months of the re-opening than you have in the last 18 months of being closed.
He has in a master stroke absolved himself of all future blame when it goes pear-shaped.
Most bars still have to pay rent electric and in some cases pay the girls who live in so we may as well open and get some income to offset these costs. The small open bars should be allowed to open but the large night clubs and live music venues should remain closed due to the large numbers of patrons in close proximitry to each other. Alas this will never happen as the govt will say all or nothing.
