  1. The answer is very simple. Thailand is the place number one in the world for elderly single farangs
  2. I bet you are one the sters too
  3. Don't be naive, Europe's big distribution companies have secret price agreements.
  4. Cheap Charly tricks?
  5. what happens when you put the cat with the milk? I didn't imagine that the Germans were so naive
  6. is this the end of the Cheap Charlies? I cannot imagine how they would survive if they will also be taxed on their meager pension. This is the end of the Katesiree
  7. Motorbike gangs, but they don't have locations since they are supposed to drive around
  8. As stated several times, they are incapable of putting such measures into practice. A failing administration, poorly competent agents and ambient corruption are obstacles to any measure of this magnitude. Already when we consider the problems in managing their online visa system, or remember the chaos during the Covid era. In fact it is yet another anti-foreigner nationalist populist’s wet dream. On the other hand, they face a deluge of lawsuits that they will be incapable of managing. Imagine the complexity of controlling, centralizing, analyzing and cross-referencing the different bases containing the tax data of those concerned. For me it is a stone in the pond, an elephant giving birth to a mouse. No worries.
  9. For me it will remain a mystery why the table at which the guilty people sit is always empty
  10. My experience with Danish people is they have a superiority complex. I once worked under a Danish ceo in an affiliate of an American pharma cy. That guy had an ego from here to Moscow. He had a sticker on his car saying "Danish try harder". He tried so hard that he overvalued the sales figures in his reporting to the headoffice to get the bonusses. The trick was very simply, he convinced the wholesaler to keep goods in storage in return for a good discount. The guy was thrown out after an employee betrayed him because she still had an egg to peel with him . This said this guy is a genuine crook, merits no sympathy and has to pay for his crimes.
  11. What they do with 3.000.000 baht? Buy toilet paper?
  12. I don"t understand, I had exactly the same stoty as yours. Except that the IMO stamped my pass with a big smile and no overstay, joking that I was lucky to be right on time at immigration despite my flight was 2 hours later rhe following day.
  13. Many chinees owns units in the Base. I booked via booking.com without any knowledge of the owner. The guy happens to be Chinees. He doesn't talk any word of English, neither Thai. Could have helped because my Thai wife is with me. The first day was a nightmare, nothing worked neither airco, tv, safe, lights aso. I asked for two sets of keys and got only one. Also impossible to communicate with the guy. Finally he sent his handyman who also only spoke Mandarin. Luckily he was obsessed by my wife, she led him by the wand (such as me) and gots everything less or more done. But back to the topic. These small units of 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom, 1 kitchen and 1 living make around 20 square meters. This remind me documentaries of the tiny condos in Chinas big cities. Should there be a link?
  14. I am interested, where is it?
  15. My dog gets sometimes bored such as my cat and my kids. That is why they need an adult to keep them busy. And my wife finds me boring but that's another story
  16. Their legs are endless and their prices are also ...less
  17. Are you aiming at a blond Russian lady with endless legs?
  18. bolt taxi cars. Trafic is for everybody and bikes too. You have to think strategically to avoid theses. Where you want to go and at what time of the day and which roads to run
  19. 7-11 brings it to your home with their bikes and at their risks
  20. A motorbike is a ticket not to heaven but to Bangkok Hospital here in Thailand. Definitly not recommended for older farangs whose hearing, sight, reflexes retrograde visibly. I use Bolt taxis so cheap so comfortable so secure and so easy to work with.
  21. Some are not gifted with a critical mindsetting. It are people with let us say a small tiny IQ. And effectivly those people are bringing AN downhill
  22. Call it stupidity or lack of logic or probably both. Yesterday I was at Central Festival in Pattaya. I wanted to change 200€ and because most banks are there and I was to lazy to go to an exchange shop outside I went to Krung Thai Bank. The employee asked my passport. I gave him a copy. He said he needed to see the original document. I replied, are you gone make a copy? Yes he said, I need to make a copy for my file. Well I said here is the copy, it is alrady made. No he said I need to make a copy of the original. I said well here you have a copy of the original. No he said I need to make a copy of the original... and the ping pong went endless on. Finally I said with a big smile and of course the usual wai that I would go to the exchange shop in sai song were they are satisfied with the copy and more give me 20 cents up per euro. In the meantime the local guard woke up and scrutinized the behaviour of that very suspicious farang.
