WOW no car wednesday, what a fantastic idea.

Total waste of time, as no one will do it, to use public transport, means walking to a bus stop.????

Walking, ha ha, will never happen, Thais leaving the car at home and walking to a bus stop, joke of the year.

The thing is that this is not Thai specific. It would be a very good initiative and needed all over the world, but there is no reason at all to look down on Thais for not wanting to walk. That would not happen or work anywhere in the world.

Dolcide was being transferred to Chalong Police Station to await deportation after he was convicted of marijuana possession and overstaying in the country when he made good his getaway simply by running off after police opened the vehicle door for him as he arrived at the station.

Dolcide fled past the busy Chalong Circle and down Wiset Rd toward Rawai, then disappeared in the jungle behind the SuperCheap store some 260 metres away.

He managed to run 260 metres in handcuffs, quicker than the police. That only states they have to get harder on the "pom puis" at physical tests.

I have lived here 15 years and the school that he goes to teaches him Thai 3 hours a week. It used to be 2. We will go back to the US as we pay over a million a year per kid for school and we are soon to have 3 kids in school. Honestly i think the public school in the US is going to be about as good.

He is in p6. At least half of the kids at his school come from Europe or Asia (with out parents) and they do not need to learn Thai.

Edit: He can speak Thai well enough but not read well at all.

As I see it this test is not going to be very important for your child, due to that you are saying that the children already got accepted to other schools next year.

It would only be important if they needed it for be accepted in another school, otherwise it will only be for the statistic purpose for the government to spinn the numbers and feel proud about.

TyGrr, surely the most important thing is your childs education.

So in your book a trip with granny is more important, good lord, i think you got your priorities mixed up.

And in your world everything and everybody think the wrong things and do the wrong things. What right do you have to come up with this slur?

The only one that seems to have mixed up things, looks to be you. At least you do live up to your signature.

I think you will find the ones who want to feel manly are the ones licking the boots, but never mind ????

Seems like you are the one that is after validation not me

What validation? Sitting here and answer post from other members that already knows my stance? No, I just see that kind of validation as stupidity from my fellow human beeings. Cheers!

I've no problem with them catching overstayers, but to claim it's a great day for Thailand is a bit over the top.

Probably a great day for you, but not for Thailand.

You really are a sad puppy.

I respect your opinion. In another thread before, a person suddenly started to talk about cats. Here you are of believing I am a dog??? Really??? Was it something I missed in the food this morning?

The funeral at that point was taking place elswhere in the temple at the time of the video. Probably indoors with the refridgerated coffin. Note the empty chairs.

Just 2 tourists visiting the temple and taking a break out of sight of the mourners. Check out Thai Netizens view of the video, a tough crowd, funny and cute, nothing derogatory.

And yes, I have seen Thais dancing and boozing at a funeral, within the confines of the wat. It really doesn't sound like you've ever been to a Thai funeral.

I once went to a funeral near Pattaya and a bunch of gogo girls started dancing. Party time.

You seem to associate with very strange people. It´s not what you have seen that is important. It is what is the custom and the right thing to do that is.

However, you are entitled to your opinion as well as I am to mine. Let´s leave it with that.

Yesterday you said it was 1-0 to immigration.

    Does this make it 2-0?

Some who would prefer a more softly softly, less publicized approach might see it as 1-1.

This being another immigration own goal.

    Rooster

Oooh! If I counted all the goals from day to day and summarized them, it would probably be 376-2 to Immigration. However, I did not want to do that, when such high number might create an overload of horrible responses from all our highly regarded aniti-authority members.

Yea, I'm not reading that. Have a nice day and thanks for sharing.

It was not sharing. It was an explaination of what you read before you started posting replies to me today, that you appearently did not understand. Anyway, now I konw why, due to that you just admitted you are not reading things you reply to.

The only thing that you need to feel embarrassed about is that you have waxed lyrical, throughout this thread on Thai culture and what Thai people think when, as several posters have politely pointed out to you, you clearly know nothing about the subject. You couldn't have got it more wrong. Stop embarrassing yourself.

I will just take an example for you. Some posters here told me that there are load music, gambling and a lot of alcohol on Thai funerals. Yes, it is. I´ve never posted that it´s not. I have also never posted that there is no dancing at Thai funeral-parties, like they also call them.

However, what is embarrassing here is that the foreigner is totally out of place. You do not stand alone, <deleted> drunk and dance in the temple area behind the chairs where people should sit and pay their respect. When dancing occurs in the temple area, that will be if people walk around the temple in lines dancing. In all other cases the dancing, boozing, gambling and playing loud music is done in the homes of the dead people or their relatives.
