We've been in Bang Saen about 12 years. Too much traffic now on the weekends. We just sold the house and moving somewhere a bit quieter.

Don't ever try to return anything to Power Buy. There is no customer service. Bought my wife an Iphone5 trying to be a nice guy. She wanted a Samsung (smart girl). Took the iphone back the following morning morning and was told that I could not exchnge it. Used to spend a lot of money there but they will never see another baht from me.

And why did they not want exchange it? Maybe your gf had opened it already , what about the original receipt and packaging?

Life in Bang Saen differs greatly from Pattaya. Only a few foreigners and English is not widely spoken. Some good seafoood restaurants around. Very quiet Monday-Friday but everyone from Bangkok arrives for the weekend. Traffic is terrible. It'd changed greatly in the 10 or so years that I've lived here. Plusses are much better shopping. Minuses are traffic and rising real estate prices. Condos are being built on every empty pice of land

I'd give up my US citizenship in a minute if I could become a citizen elsewhere easily

I know that in the past it was customary for a Thai that was a first time visitor to get a 1 year visa. It was then easy to get a 10 year multiple entry visa. My wife needs her second visa. Is this still doable? I hate for her to go through this process each time. My parents are getting old and sometimes we may need to fly on the spur of the moment.

Why the problem? I thought if you started before 60 you could continue on with them as you get older????

I can continue with BUPA but consider it a waste of money. Hopsitals don't like dealing with BUPA either.

Anything would be better than BUPA. I'm fighting with them now over a claim that was rejected. Not sure they have an "approved" stamp

Definitely. I've lived here 18 years and met some nice people and some not so nice, but I 've never met any people the likes that post on TV.

I've yet to phisycally meet a person that has never, even accidently, broken a law even as minor as driving 1 kph over the limit, jaywalking, stolen a hotel towel, taken as much as a pen from their employer, cheated on their taxes, or made a lane change without signalling, or had premarital sex.
