I have one personal incident. A girl broke my bag while I was sleep. Stole 370 USD.
Discussed it with 2 friends. All said there is no proof she stole. Stay quiet. Forget it. Enjoy your stay in Thailand. There are a lot of girls. ????????
I think the girl who stole my money was the real loser coz that time I was looking for a long time girlfriend who could stay in her village while I am in my country and come visit me whenever I visit Thailand. After this incident , I found the girl I am still with. She got to study, got to learn computers, got to learn English , etc. Her debts cleared. got a second hand motorbike(purchased from a farang's wife ), got some gold etc ... Basically everything I would do for a real wife.
She is doing a small job now but at least she is far away from the " entertainment "industry. And yes I do have to support her financially.
And the girl who stole my money is still waiting for customers. 100 baht for a foot massage.
Eventually these fallen girls seek someone who can support them. Not all of them want huge wads of cash. Some of them are happy if you can support them and love them truly. But money needs to come in regularly.

My (very good) dentist for 20 years in Bangkok:
Filling: 1,000-1,500 Baht
Cleaning: 1,500 BahtSo turns out one more reason not to trust thai women. In my case it was a wisom tooth extraction in pattaya. Other case is an extraction in nong khai which seems expensive.

U love Thai too mutt
The fact is no matter how much i badmouth thailand, the only reason i am so vocal is because of the terrible attitude of young thais and their hostility towards foreigners. otherwise there is no country like thailand where there are so many girls easily available.

exit permit
Well isnt that an infringement to your rights. Why do u need a permit? IMO u r a n adult and should be able to travel wherever possible. If the other country is ready to take u in , in the current covid circumstances , why do u need a permit from your home government. But i suppose i am no one to say that,
because no matter what, asutralia has done great job in handling the virus.

Not with that attitude, no.
I never even tried to nor I need to. I don't need to live there. I am happy in my home country. I started going there as most people from my country visit Thailand for holidays. Fell in love and started visiting frequently. That's all.
I agree there are many good things about thailand like natural scenic beauty and easy availability of women. But apart from that, I don't see anything so good. I come from a democratic and developing nation and we are the oldest civilization in the world. Thailand is good for holidays. But a family over there. A wife , a child, a home. No never.
I would always be scared when my wife's brother turns as her real husband and they throw me out.

Sorry you have not had the good fortune to meet one.
My current thai gf is a wonderful woman. But I have seen how thais treat foreigners. I understand they bitterness towards my countrymen. But bitterness towards farangs is totally beyond comprehension.
Those who earn with foreign tourists smile at our faces but anyone not dependent on tourists is always ready to fight. I dont understand why. May be because many young thais are raised in absence of a father and there has never been a father figure to teach them how to be a man. They think fighting others who won't retaliate because of the fact that thai laws always favours a thai, makes them a real man.
What I don't like specifically about thailand is how wives try to cheat/scam their foreign partners and how young thais have become so violent.
Look at this video. When you are listening to it, just delete the words like america and black.. rest everything told here applies to every society.

I don't find China in the list. Seeing how wonderfully they managed the Covid situation , I was assuming Chinese will have first chance to visit Thailand visa-free and enjoy the beauties. ????????

Hmmm
Agree that a genuine tourist wont go because of the entire process but again, you call thailand as your home. So it definitely worth it
I wish you a merry Christmas and a very happy new year.
Hope the international travel scene becomes better in the coming year.. ????????????????

99% will go nowhere near it whilst enforced quarantine remains
Quarantine is important to keep Thais safe. It is being done in mot countries. But people would avoid going for vacations if there is mandatory quarantine.
This method will promote entry of those seeking for work/business in Thailand on a tourist visa. Only those who have some investement/condo/business/ family will go for mandatory quarantine.
A real tourist wouldn't want to be quarantined.

Last year the New York Times did a story on the trafficking of women into China but from Myanmar. Women in rural villages promised high(er) paying jobs in restaurants in China only to be drugged during the journey and sold into marriage.

Similar things are happening to many south asian women.

I bet many Thais could care less about certain ex-pat pensioners..
Even if the foreigner step father sends these thais to an expensive college, buys a nice motor bike etc, they would never care.
Thais don't like foreigners. This is my personal opinion. They like the money they bring. and that's all. Quite evident from how they have started behaving with foreigners in past few years. Pretty hostile I would say. And that is not just to my countrymen. Even young handsome good looking European tourists fall prey to their hostility and anger.

I know many massage or bar girls that make more then that.
Tell to the girl,
oh baby, my govt send me money 30000 in one month. i no like u massage another man. will u stay with me same same wife. i take care u . we stay together.
She would be ready to leave her " high paying job " to stay with the foreigner usually for free. She needs food and sheltar to begin with. Pocket money, sending money home etc comes eventually but the man needs to draw a line. If that high earning bar girl could find a 10000 baht job somewhere, its good for her, She could manage her parent's demands. These girls always choose a housewife role instead of a bar/massage job.
Why is that? Because all that extra high income comes from jobs she doesn't wanna do. She is doing it because she is waiting for someone. She doesn't like it. She doesn't enjoy being touched by every tom , dick and harry. She needs someone to take care of her and she keeps waiting for someone to ask her for this..

support for the women is significant.
I liked the "support for the women" part. The fact is that regular thais would never accept those sinners. Girls working in bars?? A thai would never be with them unless he doesn't mind pimping his wife. But over here in Thailand, foreigners get into serious relationship with these women. Marry them , make kids, send her kids to school/college etc etc.
The amount may be equal to a drop in thai thai bucket but it matters to the people who are reaping befits out of that foreigner.

hi,
Amazon buyer account was locked for using Thai credit card for delivery in USA, is it usual ?
And now I cannot contact Amazon because all emails are rejected and the only way seem to login into your account to send a message (but they deny me to do anything after login)
Any other solution ?
thank you.
Such things happen and they are for your own protection. But getting it resolved is tedious job for the user. Is there a chat support available after logging in the app or website?
Also for order payments , try paying via paypal. In this way the order should go thorough smoothly. But again using your thai credit card will get you additional currency conversion charges. Check your bank's website for latest rates and charges.

"members of the community".
A Dog/Cat has a higher status that the farang boyfriend/husband in a thai household. Many people have learnt it the hard way.
Never can a foreigner be a member of the community.

Seems high for me in Nong Khai!
@Thantakit in Bangkok it costs THB1,500 to THB2,000 (US$44 to US$58) to do a simple tooth extraction. As for extracting a fully erupted wisdom tooth, you need to pay double the standard rate at THB3,000 to THB4,000 ($87 to $116).
So, thai woman can't be trusted. I know where nong khai is. It is a border region with few hotels. It seemed to be underdeveloped area during my last visit. I shouldn't be commenting on the prices as they vary a lot but 5000 for a tooth extraction seems unreasonable for nong khai.

Electric scooters are allright for pattaya or bangkok. Phuket, I would say NO. They don't have much power. Expect running costs to be on a higher end.
Also check if you need a license. I have seen Traffic cops stopping foreigners in Pattaya many times.

Sure there are around 50 million Thai people spending every day (allowance for pre school taken into account) and only circa 200,000 expats
Look at the pension of an expat ( which is in a major foreign currency and adds to thai's forex reserves) and the salary of thai people. If thai's were so great then you wouldn't see hundreds of thousands of thai women seeking a foreigner partner.
