Thai people do not read English language advertisements from Bangkok's most expensive hospitals targeting Westerners.
Please provide one Thai person who paid for a covid-19 test, with receipt.
but thais can read 3999 .
Any thai i spoke with during past 10 months( all are bar girls) , know corona test take so much money. very expensive.
that is how they kept the numbers low.
no one coems to gets tested.. the numbrs are low and some day u say,, we r coroina free and get an applause from WHO(CHO??).

The same will happen in Thailand when a large portion of the people are tested
never gonna happen. face saving is an integral part of many asian cultures. they would keep denying the truth just so they can save their faces.

With the low number of cases here, is it really important every citizen gets tested? If the virus was raging here, the hospitals would be full of CV patients. They aren't, right?
keep arguing. lets meet on this forum in a week and see the stats, they were able to hide the truth but not anymore.
the world is looking.
Note- u r not ready to understand what me and other members are explaining. no one says test everyone. all i am saying that their current numbers cant be trusted. I have already posted many times about what i think their strategy is. may be im wrong. but that doesnt make u right either

This is if you are non Thai and/or you want testing but present no symptoms.
I think it is unclear to Thais that they can get free testing if they have symptoms.
made it unclear and advertised heavy prices so people dont come forward.
this makes them stay at home, take some home made stuff, traditional medicine, etc .
most people are becoming ok, from the virus just by isolating at home.

FYI - Bangkok Hospital CM was offering covid-19 screening packages for 3,999 baht between 18th June to 30th September and probably still are as the attached flyer was still available to pick up on the 15th December.
i may come from a developing country but my govt has been doing treating covid for free since the beginning.
The flyer u shared shows the price to be 3999. imagine a bar girl, She has to work many days to earn and save money for this screening.
so they would simply not visit. if they have symptoms , they would take whatever they read on facebook and recover eventually. Most people in my country too are recovering by home quarantine.

yes boss, agree to u. they both have different mindsets and different conditions

Not sure what Thais you talk to....
I talk to the poor and marginalised. May be u talk to the rich and powerful who are happy as they are in power.
I am not ashamed of mentioning that i frequently talk to out of work entertainers/ pattaya girls. None of them trust the government. But those workers who bring so much tourists into Thailand are not even considered human by those in power. They were denied any kind of monetary help during the pandemic/subsequent lockdowns and tourist bans.
Those who were working in organized sector got the money. Bar girls, masseuses , freelancers etc , they never got any help even though they had been bringing foreigners into thailand alongwith their money for decades.
Those in power want to enjoy the tourist inflow but they do not want to support the girls for whom "tourists" visit. They would even deny their existence by saying " There is no prostitution in Thailand".

burmese workers add to the economy by working as slaves for a meagre salary. foreigners on the other hand stay in 450 baht hotels in pattaya and sleep with thai woman. ????????

Come on Thailand! You got Covid-19 under control before, you can do it again!
The funny thing is that even the poor thais never thought it was under control. weird how some foreigner who has no idea how things work in countries like thailand, are so gullible that they actually believe everything the govt says. ????????????????
They can do it again by deporting all those poor migrants in a bus, publish a report that all locals have recovered. threaten the family that if they say anything in public or social media, they will be punished.
yes they can ????????

Your view of Thailand is different than what I have seen. In March, I discussed these issues with a few doctors and medical staff. Thai people do not need to pay for testing. When a person goes to a hospital they are screened for symptoms. A doctor will make a decision if the person needs testing. If the doctor orders a test, they call a national tracking center for a tracking number. Then they swab and send the sample to central laboratories. Local hospitals do not do testing. Samples are sent to Bangkok. One does not pay when you have been given an authorization code. It is all centralized.
Well, i really dont know about what happens there but people over there don't get tested due to fear of stigmatrization, social ostracization, expensive testing, expensive treatment.
spoken with a few poor and marginalized thais and they have no money for all that. they would rather stay at home, eat chilli, rub some tiger balm and hope to become disease free soon

u can keep assuming they r doing great. look at worldometer, their test per million is at the bottom 25% countries.

Deaths are hard to hide though. Unless one believes outrageous conspiracy theories of a huge government coverup. My wife works in the health industry. I just see no evidence of that.
there is like 1 percent or so death rate in poor and unhygeinic countries. Seeing how thais live, share food from same plate. taste food before serving it to others. etc etc.. I can say they live in unhygeinic conditions. That somehow increases immunity to diseases.

There is nothing like a validity of 72 hours upon arrival. The requirement is an RT PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before you enter the country.
Source :
https://www.visitnorway.com/plan-your-trip/coronavirus-and-travelling-to-norway/
https://www.helsenorge.no/en/coronavirus/international-travels/
This test cannot have a validity because people can catch the virus later on too. All an RT PCR does is that it certifies you don't have Covid 19 virus at the time of the test. It cannot have a validity.
Regarding the testing facility at BKK airport, antigen tests are generally fast, RT PCR takes time. There need to be a lab with all the machinery.
You should contact the BKK airport and ask if they have an RT PCR testing service for the virus or not and in how many hours they can give the test report.
In case they don't do it there, find a hospital, ask the time frame, plan your test in such a way that you land Norway within the 72 hour time frame of the sample collection.
Thanks.

I would say Thailand is going to lose a lot of tourists, expats, and manufacturing to Vietnam in the not so distant future.
Already lost. Vietnam should come up with a decent long stay visa for westerners. In cambodia it costs a little less than 300 usd for a full one year visa. no stupid 90 day report, no adress reports, travel as u please.
but i heard that vietnam was actually making it harder for foreigners to stay long time(pre covid).

Thailand is an excellent example,
excellent example of how to keep the numbers low.
1. Keep testing price high.
2. Stigmatize covid so people wont come forward for testing.
3. Spread the news that covid treatment is expensive.
Eventually people wont turn up, and you country's number will be low. You can open your country to tourism whenever you want.
IF there is an outbreak , blame it on the foreigner. In recent samut sakhon outbreak , the burmese are being blamed.

which - if so - did not lead to a noticable increase in severe symptoms and deaths
only the numbers of symptomfree infected people would have risen to the sky
how wud u know if they r infected when they did nt do an rt pcr. in my country most people are home quarantined and becoming virus free in a 10 days time or so,. in case they have any issue like breathing problem, high fever etc they go to a hospital..
