69 million innocent Thai people send their thanks for your kind sentiment and wish you the best!
Did u personally check with the 69 million people.
As per my observation the locals no longer appreciate foreigner's presence in los.
The same farangs who gave millions of thais a chance to earn their daily noodles and soup and also married their bar girl daughters and wives.????????
And now the same farangs are unwanted.

Don't know about Chinese. Most indians visit Thailand to spend their money. Go to phuket and u will see. A small fraction visits to work illegally as a customer calling agent outside indian nightclubs or money lenders.

India was a kand of filthy savages before Britain colonised.
No it wasn't. But that's not the point of discussion here.
I don't care what your teacher told you about imperialism. Again that's not the point of discussion here.
No matter where we come from. We just want to have a good time and enjoy. And the way thai I/o's treat us is not appropriate.
They don't have guts to raid walking street where tons of South Asians are working illegally but they would harass an innocent south asian who just visits to meet his gf.

Similarly, some thais may have more money in banks more than lifelong salary of several farang retirees. There are millions of genuine Soth Asian & Indian tourists who visit here without being treated badly by any IO.
Never met a thai with money. All I see thais asking from indian money lenders lending money to thais illegally in Thailand.
Never seen a thai with morals and ethics.
A new topic is on its way. Let me get back to my bed and I will post.

Based on sheer volume of the population, i am guessing that yes, India may be having tons of millionaires.
There could have been a lot more if the British didn't rule us. But that's not the point here. I am saying that thai I/o's are rude. They treat a frequent visiting indian very badly.

That's a start/ Need alot more-
-Scrap the 2 land entries- unlimited entries allowed
-Scrap the alcohol hours- 24/7- let the market decide on opening and closing
-Lower the price of hotels and food by getting rid of the taxes on both to include the excissive wine tax
-No VAT on purchases from outlets and export
-All taxis everywhere must use meters
-Clean up the beaches and the water
-Bring back the street vendors and leave them alone
-Start a large marketing campaign in Europe; North and South America and Australia that Thailand is open for business- you need to spend money to make money.
-Order every Immigration Officer at every port of entry to greet each person with a smile and Welcome to Thailand and sack anyone of them that are rude- ask- why you come to Thailand often or toss a passport at a visitor.
You need people coming to Thailand often not IOs looking for ways to stop them from coming.
Totally agreed. Thai I/o's are rude.

. What might help is if the immigration stop treating western visitors like criminals if they want to visit more than once.
May I also add a point that they should not treat every south asian visitor as someody working in a restaurant illegally or working outside pattaya walking street night clubs as a calling agent.
Some of us may have more money in banks more than the lifelong salary of the thai I/O.
And that's just one bank account I am talking about.
Thai I/O treat frequent south asian /indian visitors very badly. They just assume everyone who frequents Thailand is a chef in an indian restaurant and working illegally.

Is it anyone else, exept TAT that have the idea that India is filled of rich people?
Indians who travel across the globe and other indians and westerners who are jealous of them. Do you know Indian economy is equivalent to that of UK and France?? Long gone are the days when you were told India is a third world country.

about 6 people in 2 bedroom, do u rally think tha hotel staff will let it happen. The max they allow is 3 adults in a double bedroom. and they charge extra for it.

I have noticed that smaller shops pay a better value for your money. walk around a bit and see whats going on. There are many small shops and bank operated shops. usually banks offer a lower value.
( All this is based on my personal experience) . Individual experience may differ. Your own discretion is advised.

Get SETV
If SETV not possible then enter on a 15 day VOA but you need to show a ticket leaving thailand within 15 days. Go for a day trip to Cambodia/Laos/Vietnam whereever is easy as per visa requirements. Come back and take a new VOA for 15 days.
There is a 7 day permit to leave the country issued at some immigration offices but that would only mean 22 days and your stay is 25 days. You might be staying with your wife's family in a far off province and the 7 day permit to leave may be a real hassle to get.
SETV might be cheaper because buying a ticket to Cambodia/Laos/Vietnam would also cost you money. plus the visa and hotel.

While it is true that the Indians spread his teachings but Buddha isn't Indian.
Buddha didn't 'receive wisdom' in India (LOL), he got his wisdom when meditating under a Bodhi tree. You should go and read more Buddhist texts.
Wisdom can't be obtained in only one life, the key concepts of Buddhism is reincarnation.
I dont want to argue but where was that tree located?? India.
And when the term India is used in these contexts, it doesn't always mean the current geographical boundaries of the Republic of India. India has always been a civilization full of immense knowledge and great wealth. India may also mean the lands where Indic/Indian culture was prevalent and that has always covered the current geographical area of the country of nepal. So it is not 100% factually wrong in saying Gautam Buddha was Indian. The current geographical boundaries didnt exist then and it was different back then

If you look at the comments from some foreigners, you know they don't like Indian, don't like Chinese and don't like Muslims. They only welcome Europeans and Americans to Thailand.
yes i feel so. They are still living in the 1900s or before.
I wonder people who pass such racist comments and have racist opinions ever bother to go back to their own fantasy land countries and see the real problems around there.

Many people are confused. Buddha is from Nepal and NOT India. He's not a god from India.
Buddha recieved wisdom in India. And started preaching there. It was King Ashoka's son and daughter who spread the teachings of buddha to SE asia.

Thai people pray same god from India. But not like people India. (Except u)
very funnee this.
Indians may not be allowed in some gogo because indians are not stupid to spend 20000 in an hour over drinks. Gogos like stupid tourists. Indians have been known to be clever.

Not a bad idea as I keep hearing about growth in Bangladesh economy.

And what is the harm in bargaining when we know a lot of things are over priced in Thailand. You might be happy paying the advertised price.
But how you can demonize a whole bunch of a billion people because of the actions of a few.

Well, As per my observations Indian tourists in Thailand can be divided into many categories :
1. Family- married couple with or without kids. They like to see Bangkok, chiang mai, Phuket etc. And occasionally Pattaya. They are well behaved.
2. Couple - they are in a serious relationship and are looking to travel to a mid budget destination and it's more like a before marriage honeymoon for them.
These are always well behaved.
3. Single men in groups- they visit for only one purpose. They love Pattaya. They sometimes cause disturbance to other guests in hotels with their loud music or noise. They sometimes try to get 1 for 3 deal which I personally find as disturbing. These men are generally married to a nice loving and caring Indian woman and they have kids. They want to have some fun and they try to negotiate and bargain everywhere which thai shopkeepers generally don't like. They have family responsibilities and they want to get the best out of their baht.
PS-
Thailand has become like a weekend getaway for many upper middle income group indians. Thanks to VOA and affordable flights.

The setv is valid for full 90 days allowing a single entry and a maximum bstay of 60 days. But they wrote the flight dates with a pen on the visa sticker

I had an issue before. I posted about it in another thread before. I was told to get setv visa and not visit Thailand on voa as I frequently visit to see girlfriend. Now I am not sure why they wrote the entry exit date with pen. The dates they wrote with pen is the same as the the original fully paid tickets I provided them. But now my plans have changed. And I am worried about the setv.
