Then again in business  asked for chicken.none left, ended up with economy  meal as they had  chicken. trust me the service these  days is so so.

Emirates have recently introduced pre-ordering meals so that should be a thing of the past once it's fully rolled out.

  2. The links above should be enough but here another one with directions from Jomtien Beach.

    Directions.

If you're using the baht bus look for this sign on your right - you can see the FedEx logo - just after Soi 29/1

Most airlines certainly do not offer this service.  Certainly none of the ones I tried.

Etihad offered me the option to bid for a "comfort seat" once, but this option was only available as an after-purchase service. I guess they only do it close to the departure date, and if they're sure the seat won't be sold.

I don't know who else you tried but Etihad do according to their website so you may just have got someone who didn't know all the options.  Ignore the upsell to "Comfort" which is probably more popular and ask for "Neighbour free" instead.

The GDSs (airline booking systems) even have instructions to agents what to enter and where, to designate the extra seat appropriately.

Unfortunately for some reason I cannot get the location from the co-ords you gave. Is this the land on the left as you drive down Yume away from Big C Extra but just before you get to Tantarak school and the cross roads?

Think it's this area just before you reach the remains of the Woraburi.  The Street View photo is from last year and doesn't show the pool/restaurant/market that's at the roadside nowadays.

Theoretically...    yet they have worked all over Thailand for checking in for flights and hotels... So the 'geographical limitation' while correct is not an issue (until it is of course).

Have you flown domestically since late January?   The CAAT issued an edict that passports would now be required for domestic travel by foreigners but I don't know whether anything has actually changed in real life.

  6. Most airlines have this option as they know there are bloaters who won't fit in one seat or people not wanting to put their Stradivarius violin in the hold.  Every airline will have their own procedures but it can often be as simple as putting "Extra Seat" as the second passengers name.  You do not normally get additional luggage allowance when purchasing an extra seat and you don't pay any passenger charges or taxes.

To see the current seat allocations on an upcoming flight I always use "Expert Flyer".  Free of charge it has some limitations but it's good enough to see how busy the flight is and if you have a free seat next to you, etc.

Yes, Seat Alerts is part of their operation which is the app I use for this.

Has again zero to do with the actual question and answer, you must be a bunch of old trolls with no life, that kill their own playground (this site) with a slow death. Hope you and your palls, the miserable answers and comment writers here, realize, that they will stop paying for the server, the less people come here. It's already half the visitors since just 2 years ago.

So you were wrong, maybe realise it now but still refuse to admit it, and throw in some clutter about age and quality of replies when you are the only one so far to have posted something totally off topic in the thread which asked about whether the government approval for a flight is likely to be a formality or not.

For other readers who may have higher comprehension levels, the OP wants to fly from CNX to somewhere in Australia and has no need to enter Malaysia.  The system being introduced is only for those entering Malaysia though immigration channels and will allow them to use the auto-gates on future visits.

  9. Seatguru is becoming less and less helpful as it's no longer being updated (no money in it for it's owners Tripadvisor).

I can't comment on Seatlink mentioned above but I've been using aerolopa recently, although I've found Bangkok Airways doesn't feature on it.

Airline staff can stop you at the boarding gate. I know because that happened to me (not Singapore Airlines).

Agreed, one time I flew with hand baggage only I got pinged at boarding for a documentation check.  They mentioned it was because I hadn't been to check-in where it would normally have been checked.

I've known them tannoy in advance at the gate for this too in order to reduce any holdups on boarding.

Another option is - travel light. If you really need some items, arrange to have them shipped/couried. That way even if you have different tickets on different airlines, you wouldn't have to leave the Departure Area. Especially if you've checked in online.
Just go to the Transfer Desk to find out which Departure gate to go to and be gone.

The first airline most likely won't let you board without valid documentation for where they're taking you.

Do they still charge the same 10BHT fee as they do with cards at ATMs if you use the QR code with one of those other banks?

No idea. I was withdrawing from my BBL account at a BBL ATM and just caught a glimpse of the others as I went throught the process.  Now if someone reports I can use my BBL cashless withdrawal facility at another bank then I'll give it a go to find out.  Kasikorn is the obvious one if I recalled my experience correctly.

ETA:  I don't get charged a 10 baht fee anyway as my backup ATM is a Kasikorn and I would have noticed.  I seem to recall it's limited to so many withdrawals per month (or something like that) are free.
