their version of quarantine is a bit easier????
Why would an Ambassador coming from Bangkok have to quarantine? Do you understand the functions of an Ambassador? They are a foreign Gov'ts representative IN THailand.

If you want to talk about stupid- reversed baseball caps do it for me. It looks eidiculous. I count at least two people other than the ladies without masks. Are they unstupid?

I wouldn't be at all surprised that he charge the green fees to the government.
Posted elsewhere there was a link to a Golfing magazine (can't be bothered to go and dig it out, EDIT: See @RobFord's post above) that estimates each time he plays a round (of golf that is, not when he plays around!) it costs the US taxpayer in the area of 600k, averaging it out. This includes Secret Service, porta potties, Airforce 1. the Coast Guard and other agencies, etc.
Apparently he has spent approximately 22 per cent of his 'Presidency' playing golf yet had the gall to accuse Obama of loafing on the golf course.
MAGA (Making America Golf Again).
To keep this within the tread topic I see yet again the lawyers have lost but he still cries foul whilst these have been the most secure elections in history. Don't let the door catch you on the way out Donald- wouldn't want to get a splinter.

Back in Apr the Swedes where I live were not complying with the pool closure, wearing masks, etc as 'That's not what we do in Sweden'. I pointed out that they were not IN Sweden.
I wonder how many of them have now popped their clogs (or the Swedish equivalent) - it will make for a quiet High Season.????

Positive news but as usual the first and other posts are negative. I'm betting all the negative comments are by people who never used it. This is a baby step in restoring the western coast bus service, which was slammed at the beginning with the usual naysayers going on about burnt out buses years ago (IIRC there was only one but that's by the by and become an urban exaggerated myth). It became more and more popular and was a transport success.
It's not just about the airport- plenty of local users were taking advantage of it and its far easier than having to get a bus into Phuket Town then back out to a west coast location.
Hopefully as people realize it is back in service it will get the support it deserves- as for the reduced amount of journeys that makes sense given the limited domestic flights at present.

I'd fire him in a nano-second for going public about internal HR matters.
I hope that was tongue in cheek. Trump has condemned Whistleblowers in the past, calling them traitors, etc.
Interesting that he praised the (later debunked) Whistleblower in the Post Office.
How the wiggly worm turns when it suits him.
Right up there with 'stop the count- I'm losing, keep counting- I'm winning'.

2 hours ago, heybruce said:"Do you think they would be filing lawsuits if they didn't have any evidence?"
In view of the fact that these suits are being routinely dismissed for lack of evidence, yes.
My BOLD.
In the UK and a number of other countries around the world there is an Act to prevent Vexatious Litigations.
In the US this is only an option in California. What is occurring at present would in other countries qualify IMHO, as the lawsuits are frivolous and without substance. Not that this childish, petulant, behaviour would likely be present in other 'democratic' countries.
Vexatious litigation is deemed to be action which is brought solely to harass or subdue an adversary. I would suggest this is what is currently going on and only the lawyers are benefitting from it. The courts must be getting extremely pst off at the moment .

IIRC as an ex-VP Biden is still read in anyway. I stand to be corrected though.
Pretty sure he's aware of the existential threats anyway (alleged dementia notwithstanding).

You're correct. He merely proposed injecting disinfectant. Hey, his uncle was a scientist!
He gets around things and denies it by fronting his statements with 'maybe' 'I don't know but' , 'who knows', 'It could be true', etc. This is followed up by frantic back-pedalling and 'what the President meant was' or 'he was being sarcastic'.
Veiling the statements still puts it out there as with the bleach and lights things but the 'True Believers ' fall for it. There are a number of documented cases of people trying the bleach following his statements but that says it all about The Base'.
As for the comments about the guy 'recounting' his statement it's 'recant'. Just failing to get that word correct casts doubt on the veracity of the statement and its source.

Today I went to an unnamed supermarket to buy some eggs and milk.
Because I wanted to make an omelet.
I like omelets.
I went to the checkout with a 2 liter of milk and 24 box of eggs.
The cashier pointed at the 10 items only sign, then pointed for me to go to another checkout that had a long queue.
I pointed that I only have 2 items. A bottle of milk and a box of eggs. She loudly counted each egg and the bottle of the milk and shouted that I have 25 items, then pointed to go to the checkout with the big queue.
Then did this again as I looked at her.
I've never been so angry.
I understand the current vernacular in this situation is 'OMGeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee' in a strained nasal whine. Do you need counselling or will a man-hug from a man-bunner suffice?
If this is the biggest hurdle in your life words fail me.

Biden hasn't won, IMO, till the electoral college says he has and congress announces it.
https://apnews.com/article/when-do-electoral-votes-need-to-be-in-970e6b8c8474c77ac6ab4fb0d56caa5b
Electoral College electors in each state don’t vote until Dec. 14. The electors’ votes typically align with the popular vote in each state. But not all states require the votes cast by electors to mirror the popular vote. Certificates recording the electoral vote results in each state must be received by the president of the Senate and the archivist no later than Dec. 23.
The official results of the electoral votes are sent to the new elected Congress, which is set to meet in a joint session on Jan. 6, 2021, and announce the results.
By your 'reasoning' Trump hasn't won either then has he? Despite the fact that LAST WEDNESDAY he declared that he had.
He's the gift that keeps giving.
Edit: I'm not a fan of Biden either to be honest. If these two clowns are the best a nation of 328m people could come up with I feel sorry for it. Have a look at the wealth of those in Congress and the Senate- no corruption there, no Siree Bob! At least here its in the open. Pork barrels to the fore.

Whats the problem, the driver has 2 other rearview mirrors to use, no different if it was a van.As long as the driver can view backward which they can.
Judging by his further comments I think he is seeking the outrage bus, which doe not seem to be coming ( either with or without mirrors!). As pointed out most of us with pickups rely more on side mirrors and manage just fine.

Just get a meter taxi- booth is outside arrivals. Ignore any touts on the way. Coupon from the booth will list any details you need. Depending on where you are going and they don't take the long way round will be 450-700 to your destination.

He's slower than before nobody is denying that but he's smart and experienced enough to organize an incredibly effective cabinet. I am worried about the transition period though. Definitely a vacuum now and an opportunity for enemies.
Couldn't be worse than the last time. Obama's team prepared loads of stuff- Trumps team turned up, went 'yeah, whatever' and here we are today.

Laxalt's press Conference was all 'we believe' and 'it's possible' typical lawyer double talk but no actual substance. The burning ballots elsewhere that created hysteria has been debunked as well.
Forget about draining the swamp- Trump is drownings in it. As a (American) friend said to me 'the man has no redeeming qualities whatsoever'. He is behaving like a petulant two year old throwing all his toys out of the pram but there's nothing new there.
'Keep counting where I'm winning but stop where I'm losing ground' (paraphrase not direct quote). What a sphincter- Spitting Image got his tweeting just right.
This whole election is a national embarrassment and the behavior on (mainly) the Trump side has been an absolute disgrace- not surprising given his background.
