  1. We come at Makro 3 to 4 times per week. We always have our 3 bags. One big shopping bag made from canvas and 2 thermo bags. We never have to leave them at the counter. In the Makro store itself we only use the thermo bags for frozen or cooled items to keep them cool during shopping there. The canvas bag is folded and we open it at the cashier. We take all the frozen and cooled items out of the thermo bags and return them after they're scanned. Some times I have an order of 20 kg at the butcher waiting for me. For that we always use our coolbox. We never had to leave a bag or box at the counter when entering Makro.

Oh dear, not another case of dozing off to sleep, The answer may be some sort of curfew where by drivers not allowed on roads at various times of the day or night, maybe a little drastic idea, but somethings got to be done, its all too common.

Many countries in Europe have a curfew for trucks around or during the weekend. Also several countries have a curfew for trucks during rush hours.

  3. Whole immigrations is <deleted> up and a giant legal mafia.

    This happened last Saturday !!!

My friend and his wife had a stop over in Bangkok from a flight from Denpasar, Bali to DMK. From BKK to Munich and from Munich to Dusseldorf. My friend's wife is Dutch but she also carries an Indonesian passport. Staying in Bali for 2 months having the fastest flight to Holland due to a family emergency, they booked the only available flight which had a stopover in Bangkok. DMK to BKK.

What happened. My friend could easily past immigration, however his wife, just in the line behind him, showed her Dutch passport. The immigration officer could not find an exit stamp in her Dutch passport. She was not allowed into Thailand without an exit stamp in her Dutch passport. Then she showed her Indonesian passport with an exit stamp. That was ok, she only had to pay an fee of 2,000 THB for visa on arrival. My friend paid the 2,000 THB / 60 €. Right after she was arrested for trying to enter Thailand illegally. She had to pay a fine of 300,000 THB / 10,000 € and a 5 year prison. For this and had to go to court on Monday, immigration said.

My wife and me have been waiting to pick them up for over 6 hours. My wife made some phone calls to some people she knows at immigration. Later the fine went down to 40,000 THB and she only got a transfer visa valid for 48 hours after landing.

So the next morning on Suvarnabhumi, she was not allowed to leave Thailand and had to pay a fine of 200,000 THB for the previous offence. But in the computer it said, fine 300,000,  only paid 100,000 so they wanted the 200k. So my wife called around again and again. Fine went down to 25,000 THB because my wife knew some people.

    Receipt ?

Not possible, receipt office closed !!!

The biggest mafia in Thailand is called immigration !!!!

Maybe there are some competent mechanics around,  I just haven't found any.  When I first came here, I was using the dealer shop until I realized how incompetent they were.  Just as an example, when I asked for "full service," I discovered that they did not even lubricate the brake, clutch and throttle cables.  I was shocked.  But that was years ago.  Now I expect incompetence.  I do my own work.

It is absolutely crazy to have these powerful bikes worked on by incompetents.  And most riders do not know any better than to trust them.  THAT can get you killed.

I am having my bikes maintained by real pros at 45K. Moto.
They are located in Sutthisan, Bangkok.

  5. Thai culture. Thai bosses controlling it !!!

Last Friday I was with my son of 22 and several friends on Nana's Sukhumvit soi 4. In the 2 hours we were staying there we have seen over 50 small boys begging for money.

Around midnight my son and a Thai friend talked with a little boy who didn't know his age. We thought he was about 4 years old and begging for money because he didn't eat for 5 days. My son just took him around the corner to treat him for a burger meal at Mc D. Together with the Thai friend we all discovered that he was about 6 years old and already on the BKK streets since he was 0. He didn't have a mom but had some Thai uncles, aunts etc... He was send to the streets to beg for money. If he did not have 1000 THB for the night he would not get any food. Big police was friend from uncle... When we were at McD 2 of his brothers showed up, both hungry as hell. We also treated them. While sitting there, 2 police entered. Boys were very scared, saying boss, boss here. They went straight to our table. My son trying to record this on his phone was hit by the police with a bat. His phone was badly damaged he couldn't use it any more. He's now back in Europe and maybe he has some recordings. Staff of McD and police ordered us to go or we would be arrested for trespassing. We had to go. The kids went with the police... Back to soi 4 !!!
