  1. Email response from FBU Manila regarding phone attestations for 7162: Due to workload constraints, FBU Manila is unable to attest the annual report form by phone at this time. If you wish to have the form attested by phone, please call the Social Security Administration’s International Call Center at +1-410-965-0160 between 7:00 AM and 4:00 PM U.S. Eastern Standard Time. You will need to pay for the call because Social Security currently does not have a toll-free service for calls from outside the U.S.

  7. SSA Wilkes-Barre will only accept the form they send with BARCODE.
  8. In the year I was approved for SSA retirement benefits, I started receiving my benefits in March, not knowing that there was such a thing as SSA Form 7162, I got it 4 months later in July. So, you will most likely get one this year.

It is fast and easy: Retirement at www.ssa.gov/benefits/retirement Disability at www.socialsecurity.gov/applyfordisability Medicare Only at www.ssa.gov/benefits/medicare The online hours of operation are: Weekdays 5:00 AM – 1:00 AM Eastern Time (ET) Saturday 5:00 AM – 11:00 PM ET Sunday 8:00 AM – 11:30 PM ET Holidays 5:00 AM – 1:00 AM ET If you are unable to apply for benefits online, contact us via our FBU Inquiry Form (Inquiry Reason: Apply for Social Security Benefits)
  10. I got mine today, June 24. The date on the form is June 6, 2024. Fortunately, the local post office seems to be more mindful about delivering mail in a timely manner now, unlike the past couple of years. I'm guessing the US Embassy in Manila might have something to do with that.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: If you did not receive your monthly Social Security payment this month, your benefits have likely been suspended because we did not receive the annual questionnaire form that was mailed to you. To reinstate your benefit payments, you will need to print and complete one of the forms listed below. If you are a Social Security beneficiary, please complete Form SSA-7162 If you are the Representative Payee for a beneficiary, please complete Form SSA-7161 When completing the form, please ensure that you include your complete name, address, contact number, SSN and sign the form. Once signed, mail the completed form to: Social Security Administration ATTN: FEQ U.S. Embassy 1201 Roxas Boulevard, Ermita Manila, Philippines 0930 Once we receive the completed form, we will take immediate action to reinstate benefits.   13. I just got the first mailing of the Form 7162 today, June 30, which I never did last year. I'll be mailing it back this coming Monday. Has anyone ever tried mailing the form back via special courier service like DHL? I wonder how much it would cost.
