New Version Thank you, Yahoo Mail" The link takes me to a page which Microsoft has blocked ith a red danger warning. Should I be worried? I use yahoo fro all my e-mail and losing it would be a disaster.

Behind all this is the sad fact that unless it is easy to come to Thailand, people are not going to come. Thai government and TAT do not appear to realise this. They live in world where rich people are queueing up to visit Thailand. Not any more, there are many other attractive places to visit. What I cannot understand is why no hotel or travel agency are not offering packages that take away all the hassle; book a holiday at the hotel and your own flight nd they fix all the Thai nonsense and meet you at the airport and get you through the entry requirements. Does nobody want the business? Where is the spirit of free enterprise?

I could be needing a similar PCR test in Bangkok, before returning to UK, so I too would welcome sensibe answers to the o/p's question. Hoping that Thailand will keep of UK Redd List.

When I did my Retirement extension visa I was given a new 90 day reporting date, 90 days after extension. Seems very clear that visa extension is considered to be a report of where you are staying. But wy chance it? Is it too difficult to visit Immigration and check on this?

I have no experience of these things, but a friend in UK who has tells me that they can need a lot of maintenance.

Taksin was the first modern politician Thailand had. He offered policies that would benefit the majority, and when elected, put those policies into action. The old guard could not understand this and had to get rid of him and go back to their feudal ways. Can anyone tell me the policies of the current government? if Thailand want tourists, should it not be making the application process easy, not as confusing as this appears to be? One wonders if anyone from the Tourist industry reads this site or looks for any feedback. IMHO The only way Thailand is going to get any tourists is to make it easy to visit Thailand. I have had Kasikorn accounts in both my own name and joint with wife for years, and I have never had a Work Permit, only Non IMM O (retirement.) Not recommending Kasikorn though, their service is terrible, but ATM works. Note Immigration do not like joint accounts for Retirement visas. Chiang Rai wanted to see 1.6 Million in th account, not 800K

Many readers on this Forum are better informed about Thailand and Quarantine rules (scams) than the general public in Europe, so we should not criticise them if they come to Thailand for a holiday. No rules say that Travel Agencies have to inform all customers of any potential risks, particularly in these troubled times. Knowing the Ethics of Thai businesses, they are not going to warn tourist if they can make money from them. Only hope for tourists to be informed is if the popular press in Europe catches on to this and make a big issue of it. Thailand is now governed by a lot of rather stupid, frightened, old men, so why should we expect any sensible policies from them.

They must be loaded with money, and desperate to spend it, so as to reach Anutin's targets. Good luck on thm finding any where open to spend such money.

I have been in LOS for some years on Non O Retirement visa. Visa extension runs out in July 2022. For various reason I might not be in Thailand in July this year. Can I apply for an earlier extension for, say 6 months, so that annual extension comes up in January, when I am more likely to want to be in LOS than in UK summer time? Or, if I cannot extend before July, can I then apply for, and be given, 6 months extension?

My experience has been that I/O wants to see a bank statement updated on the day of application. Note that K Bank's computer system will not update your bank book unless there has been a transaction on that day. You have to pay in or take out something small like 100 Baht to get the result that I/O wants. A PITA but TIT. I now get all the bank stuff done on the morning of application for my Non O Retirement. Best to make an appointment with the Bank beforehand. Not every Bank employee knows what is needed. Last time I went to I/O first and got a list (in Thai) of docs. they needed.

Most Thais lack any imagination to be able to plan ahead. Plus the fatalism of "If you talk about it you will make something happen." I have to do the planning for our family; wife simply does not want to think about it. Is it a national characteristic or that bad schooling does not teach basic planning or common cense?

Indians and Russians? Well known Quality Tourists. Do they really expect anyone to believe their predictions? If they told us what they re smoking or taking, there would be a great market for that Perhaps it hold be made available free to all Thais. "Returning happiness to the People"

Thailand has made its reputation as aa destination for cheap back-packer type tourists and sex tourism. Now it is having second thoughts as these categories are going elsewhere. it might be too late to change now, and beyond the ability of Thais to do so. TAT will need o be far more imaginative and active to get these imaginary "high quality tourists" who mainly want a high quality destination.

Renewed my passport a couple of years ago at Trendy Building Bangkok. I do not recall any difficulty with proof of address, but I have yellow book and Thai driving license. I recall that VFS office was semi-chaos, very crowded, so no surprise they do not answer their phone. i think that you really have to go there in person to get anything done, but quite efficient once you are there

IMO Thai banks lead the world in being unhelpful and having no regard for customer service. Sorry to hear your problems, but TIT The whole Thai banking industry need some foreign competition to shake it up. Why do you think that no foreign competition is allowed here?

Is there any where in Chiang Rai that will issue a Vaccine Passport? or n agent that can help m get such a Passport? I have had Thai Double vaccine, Sinovac and Astra Zeneca, and would hope to be able to travel to UK after Christmas, and return to Thailand later in the year. Thai niece has applied for a passpor for me on line, but no response after nearly 2 weeks

I often send money from UK (Nat West Bank) to Kasikorn in Thailand. never had any problem with amounts between 50,000 1nd 300,000 baht. Bank in UK has questioned this on occasions, thinking I am being scammed. (Sending money to my own bank account in Thailand!) but never any objection to sending money abroad. Usually take 5-7 working days, as I send he cheapest way. Kasikorm never seems o comment on these transfers, jus take their fee.

If he loses his license, ill it stop him driving again? did he ever have a locense?
