From what I understand about noise cancelling, RJR, it won't be an issue cos of room, location, etc and time....I'd mostly want her to use them in the evening, when I'm nearby quietly & contentedly drinking beer!

That is a good point actually! I'm predicting that she might definitely prefer NOT to wear them, but I'll be tactful...... and persuasive! If they dont involve wires and plugging in, etc, should be ok. ????

Thanks, patekatek. The noise can be a bit 'unbearable', yes! 2700 baht is pricey, but if they are really really good I could go for them, but I'd certainly try and hunt down cheaper ones first. Name JBL has been noted. Good brand, I think. Will look for them in local shops. Maybe they've cheaper models. ????????????

Have been prompted to update this thread to say - to all those who have so kindly offered such great advice - that I decided to get myself a Samsung qled Q70A tv, from Homepro. 26 smackers! So far, so good. ???? ???????????????? (To anyone interested......didn't exactly start well! Delivery people came, set it up in a hurry....guy attaching the stand somehow stripped a thread and meant that tv ended up kind of wonky. Not level. I noticed it but let it go (not knowing about the stripped thread). Didn't sleep well on it though and checked it myself the following morning. Not good. Mad as hell. But.....went to homepro with bits, they understood & didn't hesitate to change whole TV for another one the same day, so pleased at that! The guy had used a drill screwdriver. Mistake. )

Password protect the tv? I don't have a deathwish, Gottfrid!! The consequences would be horrific! ????

Hi everyone, Just got a new Samsung Smart tv and am in situation now where I am very keen indeed to buy bluetooth earphones to allow my dear wife to watch her Thai TV without the sound driving me mad. Does anyone have tips on which bluetooth earphone sets are compatible with my samsung tv (it has a bluetooth option) and are good......and easy to use. And also not so expensive that I'll have to sell a kidney. Would love to not go over 500 baht.....but would if strongly recommended. Thanks in advance, folks.

I would go for the premium, not cos I'm a high-roller, but cos I darned well just bought a 4k TV and so I want to USE it! ???? I think I read somewhere the cards come at different prices - obviously! - but not 420 baht for example. So the card's 500 (I think). So netflix hopes you'll buy another card to use the credit left? Or makes a few bucks if I don't get a new card? Ain't complaining. Fine with that. Just wondered if that's how it is. ????????

Hi recom273, Thanks for your comments. Yeah, I've experienced being stuck in a contract and how difficult they can make it to shake 'em off. So I like what you say about the 'looser' deal with netflix. Just not being savvy about all the options out there, I know I'll always pay more, at first anyway, than those who are hip to the deals & the tech side of it. Oh, well. I know, maybe soon, I'm gonna be interested in the vpn stuff. The one you mention, surfshark, 2000 baht, sounds like it could be great. I will research that a bit myself and maybe even ask you more about it later, if you don't mind. Thanks.????????
