  1. This is definitely what I needed I know. Very helpful. Just hope it's as simple as it sounds! ???????? thank you!
  2. Ahh, this might be useful. Thanks for posting it! ????????
  3. Apparently no more free trials. I don't know how long ago you used it but I think - not sure - it's got a bit better. But if I paid for a month and didn't like it....well, no harm done. ????
  4. Yes, I have heard of the shared account thing. I think it is the premium package, yes? Where people can log in to the same account on different devices at the same time? Sounds good. I just need someone to agree to share an account with me! I'll ask around our neighbourhood. ????????
  5. Getting a bit embarrassed by posting queries on this site about the most basic stuff I OUGHT to know but don't! Netflix - how do I (most easily) pay to access it ? I haven't got a credit card. Am familiar with the pricing & packages etc, and would want the premium package which is 419 or so baht pm (I believe). Read somewhere about Netflix gift cards from 7-11. Not having a credit card, sounds to me like a sound option. Has anyone used such cards? By using them, am I being a bit of a mug? Are there much cheaper ways to go about getting netflix? I have heard of people using vpn things to access it. For a chump like me at this stuff, that's advanced, next-level stuff. Your recommendations would be welcome, but you're advised to explain it to me as if I were a two year old. ???? Have had 3bb packages recommended to me and it does sound very interesting, but was gonna go for netflix first as I believe you're not bound to contracts etc. Cheers.
  6. I think you've been frank and explained things with fair intent, albeit with obvious prejudice against the constant spray stuff. FWIW...I completely understand the building up of frustration and annoyance at the spraying, because I get EXACTLY the same thing, believe me. But, in the context of the juice-seller, no, I don't think it's genuine hypocrisy at all. It's sound expedience. She may actually, be aware of some 'hypocrisy' element to it, but she's behaving in the way she knows she has to. Covid's f***ing with all our heads, friend. Your wife's too. In her way. Things are not normal.
  7. Vinny, my head is spinning at that price difference between online & instore. That is incredible. I am so grateful to you for finding this out and explaining it to me. ???? It's quite an education for me. I understand & respect your views on that and your bias towards online buying. Thanks for explaining the online warranty registration. Good to know! Your query about what I thought of OLED and non-OLED pic quality. If you mean as I looked at the two types in homepro......to be honest, Vinny, I looked at the prices of the cheapest OLEDs (well..... their prices!) and my attention towards quality differences suddenly felt pointless! So I turned back to the Nanocell range without investigating further! Howevet if an OLED via online purchase is doable at the price you mentioned, then I definitely will be keen to go back and suss out those differences and look for 'inky blacks' ! ????????
  8. I like the sound of that Giga TV service, Vinny. I think maybe that was the package they told my wife would take a month to get round to installing. My wife didn't explain that package to me very clearly. I reckon I can wait a month! (By the way....my Thai wife's English is great, she's very intelligent....but she's not very thorough about finding out info, which is why I seek advice on here!) Yeah , I'm old enough to have the original sweet & innocent Disney image well-ingrained! But it now appears much different, as you suggest. ????Thanks!
  9. Just had a wry chuckle at your advice not to let salespeople know your budget.....as I did just that an hour ago!!! ???? But, in my defence, it was guy I became friendly with when he worked in a hardware store locally prior to recently landing this new job at homepro, so I let it slip what my budget was! But your advice on that is good advice. Yes, I did as advise and took details of models in order to google for reviews etc, BUT......I didn't ask about the warranties. It's a biggy and you are absolutely right to recommend checking that from the start. I will ask about that - thanks for the prompt. Will also remember my tape measure next time! Not keen on wall mounting so as you say, needs to fit the furniture I've got. Now I will say something here that may interest you and all the other kind folk who've posted advice (or make them shake their heads in contemptuous despair!) : I obviously haven't been paying attention!!! I had been weighing up merits of OLED, etc, thinking to choose OLED maybe......well just been to homepro and it took only seconds to realize I had been much mistaken in thinking them affordable. Well for me they're not...bigtime!! So now it's narrowed down to the best non-OLEDs out there! Ho-hum. But thanks, Vinny.
  10. That's quite a package you got there. Is it possible to have a package with say, 2 out the 3 services you mention? Money's a bit tight these days and reducing that 790 pm you pay to around 500 or less for me would be preferred. Talking of preferences, did you choose the 3 services you mention (and by the way, thanks for the links - mighty interesting.) in preference to Netflix? Or do you also have Netflix? I'm asking not because I'm a nosy son of a gun, it's just I don't know much about what people in general go for, or even what's available. So there's more to life than Netflix! (I have used Netflix by the way and liked it.....but am open to other options.) Re Disney.....looking at the link you sent, it looks to be more than what I imagined a Disney channel might be, as in more than Bambi and Jungle Book kind of stuff! ????????
  11. Yes, we use 3bb. The add-on packages you describe certainly sound interesting. I think my wife did ask them about 'some' kind of similar-sounding package, but they said it would take a month to get round to installing. It may not have been the package you're referring to. Perhaps something completely different. So I'll investigate that further. Cheers Vinny. ????
  12. I was hoping they might have something like that. ????
  13. Glad you mentioned the LG 55nano80tpa as it was one I was considering. Doubt my wife could really discern subtler differences in picture quality, especially if shr's watching Thai mainstream TV channels. I will discuss the Brigette Bardot analogy with the salespeople and see what they have to say. Could be interesting. ????
  14. Cheers, Loslobo.....really useful. Appreciate this! Thanks.????
  15. Loslobo.....sorry for slow response. Your post is really helpful and am learning a lot from the link re burn-in. Thanks! ????????
  16. I'm getting a lot out of reading the links you kindly provided Vinny.......although, for someone like me (!), it can actually add to the confusion a bit! But I'm trying to filter it all down to key points.
  17. Thanks Johng, will check out our local Big C today. ????
  18. Yes, after some youtubing research, I think you make an important point here.
  19. Vinny, this is the stuff I wanna know, so thanks...will check out link now.
  20. So difference in prices online vs in the shops is that great? I don't doubt you, Bruno. Just no experience buying online personally. Wow! By the way....'impress the wife'? Nah....haven't done that for years! No, just to keep the lovely old thing off my back and to not be a potential target of criticism if the TV has probs. But yes, I understand if some people think this thread was a waste of time, I really do. But my initial query and intent was genuine. And it's been really useful. And.....if anyone still has valid things to say about the LG that might yet make me change my mind, would love to hear it. ????????
  21. Have mercy, gents! ???? T'is an LG 55NANO80TPA.ATM model, 25,900 baht.
