  1. Yeah, I thought the same, was surprised to see it as an option, I guess I'll find out soon enough.
  2. Well, it wasn't an option before, now it is. Logically, if it's not an option, it shouldn't be an option, but T.I.T, so, you might be right. That said, I was chatting with someone a few weeks back that insisted it was now an option, when outside your home country... I think they were from the UK. I guess I could have to eat the extra fee, not a huge deal, just a bit frustrating and confusing.
  3. Yes, I thought this too, I was only able to apply for METV in the past in my home country. But, it's there now, as an option... I just thought I may as well apply for it, over the single entry, as the requirements for it in the past were pretty standard... no 200k thb, or every night booking... Again, this is not mentioned when you chose it.
  4. I have the funds, but had to use a business account along with business documents proof, also have condo proof. Just a lot more paperwork involved.... I'll probably go for the DTV eventually, but you need around $16k, cash, in the bank for months... I'll need to liquidate some assets for that, so it's just a timing thing.
  5. I've sorted it out, thanks. A heads up on the E-Visa site would have been nice though.
  6. I just checked chatGPT and you're right! That said, - I applied for METV a few years back, and wasn't asked for 200,000thb proof - I wasn't asked for every night booking proof - This wasn't stated on the E-Visa booking form... all it says is "The difference in fee will not be refunded, if the officer grants a single entry visa instead of the multiple entries visa you applied for." They need to update the tooltip.
  7. I'm applying for a Thai E-Visa. The funds requirement has always been 20,000thb, which is fair enough, and I'm sure it had this as a requirement when applying. I chose multi entry, 60 day stay. I'm then asked for 200,000thb ($6,140) financial proof, hotel bookings for all 60 days. Does that seem a bit off? Maybe it's because I chose multi entry? Also, hotel/hostel bookings for all 60 days? Do they not know how tourism and travel works? I've never been asked for every single night, for any country. I've no problem with visa requirements but this seems North Korea level excessive.
  8. I'd love to find some at that price, where are they? At 16,000 baht per month rent, that's almost an annual ROI 1,000,000%! But after 15% tax, and expenses, closer to 800,000%, still, not bad.
  9. Ok, by that logic, alcohol and cigarettes should also be banned. They're both worse for your health. You could also argue that e-cigarettes are beneficial for smokers, not as good as quitting, but better than regular cigarettes are more toxic. That said, random Chinese vapes could be worse, all the more reason for proper regulation.
  10. Can you get a loan as a foreigner using a condo as collateral? And proof of income, outside Thailand. LTV, 50 - 80%? What are the visa requirements? Avg interest? 7 - 10%?
  11. Most of these planes were effectively "stolen" from Western leasing companies. Under normal aviation safety regulations, airlines must provide up-to-date maintenance logs and use certified parts from approved manufacturers. They obviously, can't.
  12. Same ol, same ol... bla bla bla. Actions speak louder than words.
  13. Thanks, actually less tax than I thought.
  14. When you sell a condo here, I believe you pay "income" tax on the profits. I would have assumed you deduct expenses, but TIT, so just checking. Let's say you buy a fixer upper for 2 million baht. You spend 500k baht on renovations and repairs. Later you sell for 3 million baht. Profit is 500k? Or 1 million?
  15. Does anyone know where there's horseback in CM? I remember seeing it around 5 years ago cycling west of Suthep... But nothing showing up on Google maps. Thanks.
  16. I couldn't agree more! I looked at a lot of older condos and that was a common theme, including mine. Of course I renovated it, nice furniture etc. Even renting here, it's crazy the amount of condos stuck in the 80s/90s!
  17. I'm looking into selling my condo in CM. Can anyone recommend an agent or agency. What's the typical fee they charge? 2 - 3% I believe Chinese account for up to 50% of purchases over the past few years, so an agent that deals with them would be good. Thanks.
  18. That's not how murder works, attempted or not. GBH I reckon. The Porsche driver needs to do time, 3 - 5 years and pay a lot more than 200k.
  19. Well, I'd like to know exactly what I've been contaminated with, wouldn't you?
  20. So just noticed after drinking half the bottle, a lot of weird white flakes floating in it. A well known brand, bought at 7 eleven. Has anyone had water tested here. After a google search, I found https://maritime.cmu.ac.th/en/laboratory-testing-service/ Everything is in Thai... I'll give them a call, but I'll probably need the help of a Thai. Just wondering if there are any other options.
  21. The vital evidence will stand up in court.
