  1. Mark my words in two months maybe less Suvarnabhumi will be swarming with Chinese tourists. Because they're pretty much down to zero cases already (no, it doesn't matter one whit what you believe) and Thailand will be there in weeks. So why not open the airways to Bkk/Phuket/Pattaya/CM ... to millions of Chinese who must be dying to get the 'ell out? Win win.

And then will come Indians if India can keep the lid on their situation, which looks to be the way it is so far.

With airlines and hotels gasping for breath be sure there will be deals galore to be had. The industry is going to kick start itself back to life.

And who gives a rats about safety guarantees? Nobody. Heck, take me, all I want now is to go out to a nice coffee shop and sit me down with a brew and a book. You think when that happens I am going to inspect the place first to make sure the tables are 1.75m. apart?

Yeah well look at my replies to you other posts.

To your credit you have confirmed what is fact. You can attend imm for 90 day report if it suits you.

I'm in your boat. If easy I would continue with 90 report.

Also 1 million % do annual extension if due.

I will go end of this week or early next. Unfortunately my extension isn't due till next year.

Btw, can I ask re the docs to take? Here's what I understand:

    Filled TM 47

Passport + copies of front and visa page

    Copy of TM 6

Proof of address = copy of rental contract + bills addressed to me.

    Did I miss anything?

As for 90 report ... Thinking you would be in building under 1 hour. Perhaps much less as you have specific queue.

Thanks, Jack. But do you know for a fact that they are doing 90-day reports at all and not shooing people away because of the amnesty? I don't want to go all the way and look silly.

Come on think about it. The scenario you paint won't happen. Granted as usual the detail is not explained.

Sensible ..would suggest if someone skipped say June 10 report then if amnesty ended July 31, then their next 90 day report would be September 10.

In any event time will tell. One thing is for certain it cannot be everyone do report in fist day or week after amnesty.

Ok, I guess you are right. They won't want to have to open the doors to a mile-long line.

Btw, has anyone gone to CW in this amnesty period and got their 90-day done? I know I am going to invite fire from UJ for being stupid to try. But here's the deal. I have nothing much to do all day. And if it can be done and the crowds are gone, why not?

  5. My 90-day report is due May 3, now postponed of course. Still tried to take care of it online. No dice. Then went into my app which brought back a notice along the lines "First 90-day report has to be done in person ..."

Hopefully useful info for those members up for their first 90-day.

Btw, I hope they figure out a way to prevent a stampede on Aug. 1. As UJ says maybe the due day will be the skipped 90 day date + 90. Still I can see antsy hordes lined up at CW on Aug. 1. They should set firm short windows for everyone, e.g., inperson only within plus/minus 3 days of old due date + 90.

  6. China is pretty much back to normal now. Chinese are presumably climbing the wall for a bit of travel and adventure. And the best welcome they can expect is here. Chinese tourists will not be greeted with smiles in Europe/USA any time soon.

So question: does anyone know the prebooking numbers for China-Thailand flights and hotel rooms starting June? My guess through the roof.

  7. I bought a Microsoft laptop from them last year and it's been good. I wouldn't worry about the risk of getting a dud. Because they're good with returns. If it's no good just send it back. I've never had a problem returning with Lazada. Just make sure to check the return policy on the product page before you order.

In practice customs usually lets through very small quantities if sent by regular post. Never, ever use a courier - guaranteed not to pass customs if you do.

Thanks, Sheryl. I'm going to PM you about something if you don't mind.

ramp up passenger capacity to 150 million annually after completion in 2030

I pulled out my calculator. 150mil/year is 285 passengers/minute. Even if IOs are processing passengers in 30 secs. each this would need 140 immigration counters if they don't want a backup to start building.

Well, maybe they expect everything to be automated in 10 years, passengers just filing past a face/finger scanner.

  10. Thanks, Faraday.

Hopefully Sheryl can confirm if what she said Feb. 2019

Apremilast is not yet registered for use in Thailand.

    is still applicable.

I have another question in case it isn't or is prohibitively expensive here. Normally, I pick up my supplies from stopovers in India heading west. It's cheap as chips there. Now, I am running low and obviously stuck here. However, a pharmacist in Mumbai has been kind enough to agree to mail me a couple of months tablets.

What's the best way? Regular mail once that starts operating? Courier? Would it be illegal (2 months worth for personal use) with a copy of the script in the package? Advice please.

    tourists last

A collective ouch from Thailand. Probably they'll (WHO?) divide the world into red and green zones. And green people can travel freely. This system actually exists already. I believe you need leprosy (or yellow fever?) clear certification for travelers from some hotspots.

I thought I read somewhere hospitality is 10% of the global economy. That's hotels and airlines which employ millions. They'll figure out a way to get them going again.

Fired up TVF to find that, as usual, it coincided with some disruption in alcohol intake.  Thousands infected, many dying, millions unemployed and hungry, and what really gets the collective expat blood boiling?

Yo, impulse, if you squint from the top of your high horse you might see that the topic of the OP is "Thailand extends alcohol ban ...". But, hey, if sanctimony feels good you go ahead and do it, whatever keeps each one of us sane through these times.
