The Doctor said that no test was required, it's just a cold.. so no test was done and he's sent home with some cold remedy.
Why should everyone with cold-like symptoms be tested for C-19? It would be overwhelming and unnecessary.
In case of risk factors like recent travel to an affected country or proximity to other at-risk persons, sure. The rest of us here, 99%, will get a cold and recover in a week like we used to.

It's a tiny area so a daub of topical steroid should sort you out.

Hi Sheryl:
I value your opinion so decided to give April Intnl. a good look. I found this link for reviews:
https://www.trustpilot.com/review/april-international.com
And many are not good. It is a small sample but wanted to run it by you.
Btw, I see a dropdown at one agent's site listing only April MyHealth HK and April MyHealth Thailand. You mentioned April Global. Take it that would be HK. Is that covered by EU laws then?
Thanks.

I did buy gloves.
I am not using them yet.
I avoid handrails, lift buttons (use stairs, more healthy anyway), unwashed hands of motorcycle taxi drivers, door knobs...
Lift buttons at our place are covered with plastic foil, replaced daily. I use the stairs anyway.
One poster pointed out this is a similar virus to SARS. During SARS, in HK all these things were cleaned frenetically.
Washing and disinfecting my hands often, often, often.
I wear a mask at crowded places (I don't believe a government which tells me masks are useless when masks are sold out and the government has no reserves)
Only one thing really helped during SARS in HK: social distancing. Everything else, masks etc, is just guesswork.
Social distancing means: try to keep a distance of one meter (3 feet) from EVERYBODY. Stay at home more, don't use BTS or taxi, don't go to crowded places, avoid bargirls (I know, I know)...
The best informed guess about how you will get infected is:
less than one meter away from an infected person for more than 10 minutes.
Not touching anything, not going near anybody for how long this darned thing may go on which is probably months.
Whew, you would probably have less bother if you went to a Chinese restaurant, breathed deeply, fell sick and recovered in a week as most people do. With immunity forever.

Excess anything ''vitamin"-wise and you just excrete it through urine and/or poo. these people are literally p*ssing their money against a wall or wherever it is they choose to p*ss.
Maybe behind a street food stall.
From https://www.webmd.com/diet/guide/effects-of-taking-too-many-vitamins#1
Too much vitamin C or zinc could cause nausea, diarrhea, and stomach cramps. Too much selenium could lead to hair loss, gastrointestinal upset, fatigue, and mild nerve damage.
Might be the case as well for other supplements.

I think if you are severally deficient in something you'd notice. Say iron for example.
Exactly. Take something if you have a particular deficiency. Otherwise, a varied diet and exercise is all.
In fact, taking added amounts of minerals/vitamins might even screw up the body's own natural way of processing/synthesizing them.

I say Why Me old chap ... "birdbrain'' is a bit harsh.
I was reading a (scientific) journal recently about the magpie and it's cognitive and mental and even human facial recognition abilities. Very impressive. i believe the magpie follows a veggie-rich diet too. but that's just wild speculation on my part. And probably utter nonsense.
Point well taken. Yep, magpies, ravens, even crows, some parrots are counterexamples. How about fishbrain? But then dolphins, orcas, ... But are they classified as fish or mammals? Ah, who cares.

Utter nonsense! nobody gets all the vitamins they need anymore from shop bought food,
You talk like someone who hasn't had a good meal in months. Vitamins are plentiful in fruits, vegetables, milk, ..., just look up any nutrition guide.
Restaurants don't wring out vitamins from their ingredients and sell them elsewhere. They are all there maybe a bit stale or overcooked.
29 minutes ago, CGW said:food is grown for profit not nutrition
Now you are pulling our legs. Have you heard of a non-profit farm?
29 minutes ago, CGW said:"Doctors" what does the average Doctor know about nutrition?
Hmm.
29 minutes ago, CGW said:racking in the money and making it for "Big Pharma" who are generally behind the "don't need vitamins" articles! ...
iherb the best bet.
Hey, birdbrain, iHerb is a privately owned company making $500 million a year. Them's in it for the money too.
Like pdtokyo says, vitamin supplements are a waste of money. But it's like going to the temple. Do bad stuff, don't exercise and then make merit, take a couple of supplements and all's good.

Manila SS sucks. Yep, they never responded to my emails either. And they don't answer the phone most of the day either. I found some satisfaction in calling them just as they open (8am Manila time if not mistaken) when a helpful woman tended to answer.

I don't know about Oz but I've lost a ton the past few days in the equity fund I'm invested in in the US. But I've seen this before - 2001 and 2008 recessions and periodic corrections. And every one has recovered and then some.
To my mind now is absolutely the worst time to sell. What you do then is lock in your losses. Hang in and don't keep checking your balance every day or you'll just be miserable for no good cause. Stocks are best play for the long run.

I got a movie DVD from Amazon USA. Plays just fine in my Windows PC using an LG DVD player and the Any Player app I just installed. Now I want to copy the whole thing (VIDEO_TS, JACKET_P folders on the DVD) over to my PC HD so I don't have to load the DVD every time. But it won't let me - gives a Copy Protection Error - "The read failed because the sector is encrypted".
I am not doing anything illegal as the DVD is bought and paid for and I want to copy for my own use. Any ideas how to get past that error. Thanks.

Sounds like you had the funds in the bank just used agent to hold hand.
Exactly. It was the first time after all.
Next year I am going to look for an extension "buddy" here on TV. Someone who has experience who I can go with. I will pick them up, travel/meals all on me:-)

Usually people who use agents do so because they do not have the money in the bank. A non-agent application next year, well one might be asked to show the past 800k/3months, 400k/7months and 800k/2 months. Failure to do so really makes that previous extension suspect.
In my case, it wasn't because of not having the money. That wasn't the problem. It was that it was my first retirement extension of a non-Imm so having zero experience of CW I wanted everything to go smoothly, which it pretty much did with the agent.
I doubt there's anything wrong with my extension as I was right there at CW with the agent all the time. And I was sitting in front of the IO in her office as she did her business with my passport. So should be legit.
Next year Feb. I plan to go with 800k/12months (from now on I am just going to keep it at 800k+) but we'll see if I go back to the agent. The convenience is tempting but from all accounts here it's at most just one long day on one's own.
7 hours ago, DrJack54 said:Exactly.
I don't think "..might be asked..."
I think will be required to show funds in bank as outlined.
If someone used agent to get around money in the bank and then subsequently decided for next extension to do it themselves, they would need to obtain new non-O. Start over.
Start over? You mean they'll cancel the non-Imm because the IO last time didn't care about funds? Never heard of such a thing.
I doubt there's ever a problem agent or no unless it's a fake visa/stamp, in which it is a very serious problem leading to IDC and deportation. But I stand to be corrected.

The money has to be in the bank 2 months prior to the day of application for the 1 year extension since March 1 2019, and 3 months after. Then never below 400k until 2 months before next application. This in the official police order.
Since I got it to 800k+ for the extension in Feb. I plan to just keep it that way continuously from now on to avoid any kind of problems.
1 hour ago, Max69xl said:If using an agent one year you might have to use one next year, too.
I am curious why you say this. My first extension I was happy to have the agent help. But I am thinking next time to try it alone.

Bernie will not only lose himself the Republicans will flip the House and keep the Senate. The only power Dems will still have 2021-24 is to be able to switch their living room TV channel from the gloating and ruination.
As for Joe, not only is he showing senile decline he still appears tormented by Hunter questions by the media. You'd think his handlers would have gotten him past that by now.

And this should tell you something
Don't forget to go see him next year, and let him rip you off for another year, otherwise you better keep that money in the bank
That wasn't the point of my post. But if you must the agent fee is not a lot of money for me and, particularly since this was my first renewal, I appreciated the whole process being quick and stress-free.
Next year I might try on my own just for the heck of it though the CW lines did not look appealing. Or I might just pay the fellow again and roll over and go back to sleep.

I thought he was the logical choice for the party to stay center! But this party isn't logical ,better yet not recognizable
Well, when he "moved" to the center changing his advocacy for Medicare For All to Medicare For All Who Want It the oh-so-clever facade crumbled to reveal yet another pandering pol.
Honestly, a mayor of a one stoplight town waking up one morning thinking he should be President of the US would be laughed out of the room if not for the young woke gay thing appeal. Which can only carry you so far.

I have to admit to being a bit confused by this post and wonder if someone can clarify for me.
The reason being that when I do my yearly retirement extension but I have never had a document attached telling me I had to show funds in 90 days. I have always made sure the cash in the bank was at the correct amount (800,000) three months before my extension was due and have been told at immigration that the photocopies of the bank book need only go back three month and they did not require a full years worth of copies. I am wondering what makes the difference to have different rules.
My extension is based on a Non-O visa and is done at Chaengwattana.
Yep, got my non-O retirement extension at CW last month with agent help. I had 800K in my bank for 2 months prior to that which is what the agent asked when I contacted him last year.
After the visa was stamped I repeatedly asked the agent (based on accounts here on TV) about what minimum I should keep and how long. Nothing. Just make sure you have 800k for 2 months before your next renewal. See you next year.
So I am guessing there is no requirement to verify a minimum X for a period Y after renewal in their IO rule book. However, again guess, there is something there to the effect use your judgment/discretion to decide if the money was temporarily borrowed ...

Jeez, I would just get me to the nearest hospital asap. Every one should have derms on the roster. E.g., Bumrungrad you could walk in any time during the day and find more than one derm in attendance. Without an appointment you may have to wait a bit but someone will see you for sure.

Dang, I had this vision of President Pete flying off to a one-on-one with Putin at a dacha by the Black Sea where they fall madly in love causing all wars everywhere to stop instantly.
The only terrorist left is in South Bend, IN, until the police chief tells Chasten to cut it out, it's over, Pete's with Vlad now.

I've stopped eating bats altogether. Cats are too delicious to resist. What I do is buy them live and observe them for a day or two to make sure they are not sick and then put them in the tom yum.
