Hi this is my first post here and I just need some advice and some opinions. First of all my computer specs are: hp pavilion @ 2.1 ghz, 512mb ram, and a geforce 5200 128 mb video card. Im planning to get Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 and I was wondering if it would play smoothly in my computer. Thanks
I have it and it runs on my 1.7 mhz with 128 meg memory but I do have more memory 1gig of it. You might want to consider getting a better video card and more memory but you should be able to play it.

Just came back from a Visa run. Didnt know what would happen after October first with the laws going into effect. Leaving thailand was the same but entering Myanmar took 5 times as long as it used to as they are photographing everyone but thai nationals who enters the country. They now give you a cute little document with your picture on it when they take your passport.

Hi,
Anyone flown with Nok Air. Any good? Flights on time, service etc.
Cheers in advance,
JJP
You can get a better deal on air aisa if you book in advance, but if you are doing last minute the price is about the same AND THE BIG PLUS over air asia is that its NOT cattle call seating. You get an assigned seat.

Any changes lately? I read on another forum that the new regime isn't too concerned with social order.
What about Nana(Angels) Disco? Still closing at 2am? I'd love to see sun rising next time I leave there!
Fun and games might be coming back to Bangkok but nothing has changed in Chiang Mai ....a bit off topic ... but there you have it.

Been wiring money to the same bank for over 2 years now. No tax, no fees that I have run into other then my wire fee I pay to get the money over there. Exchange rate seems to be in line. Sorry but it sounds like bunk to me.
-
for the best exchange rate - dollars... 100 dollar bills. crisp clean.
if the notes are messy, they will reduce the rate.
(beware, exchanging can be tricky, hotels will rip you off, and doing it on the street is illegal)
Thanks... saw on a site that they were giving 36.4 kyat to the baht and at that exchange rate I think it would be better for me just to come with baht... but I am out of green backs and would have to buy them in bangkok only to trade them in for kyat. Given that this is what I would have to do, has anyone had experence bringing baht?

Going on a Visa run to Rangoon, Myanmar- can you exchange baht for Kyat in Myanmar and if yes does anyone know the exchange rate. Is it better to change baht into dollars in thailand and THEN into kyat in Myanmar? Baht being so strong and all, I thought it might be better to take baht.

There are all kinds of nasty ways to get rid of them. But I dont want my cats to get into poison, and having a bunch of dead snails is about as gross. My girlfriend and a website we found suggests we keep going out at night and grab them when they are moving. Its been working we have collected about 20-30 a night for a while now we are down to about 5-6 and we keep active. Send them on thier way in the garbage. If it was me that was grabing them I think we would have been over run but she goes out everynight and grabs them. They are NOT after your dog food but after your plants if you have them in your garden. If anything they are attracted to the moisture in the food and the water bowl. We want our garden with out the swiss cheese effect so this is what we do. Let me know if anyone else has a better idea sans poison and I would be up for it.

Does this mean that Mae Sai is back in biz or was this a one time shot. Let them go home then lock it back up?

Hello, I can confirm that border to myanmar is closed and they are not sure when it will be opened again.

Hmmm, stockmarket is opening, does that mean schools and banks etc going to be open. Any news?

I am not sure this is happening with all TV stations but UBC seems to be down and only showing images of the king and rice fields. I have a slngblade which allows me to pull USA television over my internet connection. CNN is reporting that this attempt was not successful and that the powers that be are still in power, but they seem to be the only station saying this though. Anyone one have some first hand news?

Get name of temple for funeral - give name of temple to embassy
With the name of the temple, the Embassy will issue authorization to release body
Go to police station to get police report.
Get death confirmation from Hospital
Take authorization, police report, and death confirmation to District Office to get death certificate
Take Death Certificate to hospital to collect remains.
I just had to go through this.. not as fun as it sounds. You can keep the expenses to around 16k baht.
Hope this helps.

Hello,
I make my own yogurt or I did... I need to find kefir grains so that I can start the process. Does anyone know where I can get this or where I should begin to look.
Thanks for any light you can shed on this topic.

Hello, I have a friend that would like to continue with her education on the violin. Where would I look for a teacher. Thank you for any input you have to offer.

I am in Chiang Mai, but I have found this also to be true. I listen to KCRW (PBS) out of Santa Monica California and it comes in great. But I go to the NPR.org site and it buffers plays then buffers again. My guess is some peer to peer and some are using mae east and or mae west. Peer to Peer is always best, it just depends alot on how traffic is routed on the net. I am lucky, my favorite station is fast and there is no problems but many of my second best choices are not worth the hassel. Tell me what station you listen to and I will see if I get it here no problem. That at least would tell you if its a thailand thing or just your provider.
