  1. North Chiang Mai University has 2 confirmed cases of H1N1 and we have been told they are considering closing as well. Word is out all over Hang Dong that a Mother of a 7 month old girl died after only contracting the virus 24 hours before. I have family that interacts directly with this family and this is how I come upon the information.

Our daughters Nursery school is closed for the next two weeks.

  2. Our Nursery school was closed as well. Its a Thai name and unfortunately I don't know how to spell it. Its going to be closed for two weeks as there was one child with a confirmed case. We were paranoid before this came down and had already pulled our daughter out of school. Glad we did.

  3. Our Daughter was just in hospital for 5 days with the flu. My daughters pediatrician said that she did not have N1H1 but we were worried none the less.. She had fluid in her lungs intense stomach pain, fever, vomiting, coughing, aches and pains and would not eat or drink. They gave her an IV and besides saline they fed her through her IV as well. This was the most traumatic thing my daughter has gone through. I can see why they take the flu seriously.

  4. The internet is the place... it can provide streaming movies, my favorite radio station from the USA, my website to work on. Blog to post on, reading, communication, shared video stream for more interesting encounters, adult entertainment, cartoons (childrens entertainment). I have good wireless so my laptop travels with me everywhere. If you are looking to get unplugged, then read a book, listen to music, have sex, play with your kids if you have them, your pets if you dont.. There is never enough time to really do the things you want to do once you find them. Find out what those are for you...

  5. Its not just Maxnet premier that has these problems. I have the Indy plan and the service has had major issues as well. From what I see, there are issues with their DNS servers. When I use independent DNS I get better results. Not perfect but better.

  6. Never had a problem nor have I heard of others having problems. If you are buying one or two this is not an issue. If you ship 15 they might think you are going for resale in Thailand. Many of these toys, like the magic wand can also be used to massage the back so who is to say what you are buying this for. Dont you see the ads for the vibs with the woman holding it to her neck. Yes sure thats what my wife uses them for.. a good neck massage. I am sure your girlfriend has neck pain as well. So you are covered.

The link below. Good store, good selection and of course its legal in the USA and they will ship to Thailand.

    Good Vibrations or goodvibes.com

hey, a serious question,,, if these "toys' are not legal ,truely illegal items /goods in thailand ,not sold legally anywhere here...

then when shipped in Thai customs will conficate them every time, right?/ but the police will not come knocking at your door with the cuffs?will they>>

so it is not a good plan to ship this type of goods into thailand right?

  7. How much is the lunch buffet at Empress and what are the hours?

    Thank You Everyone!

I think your on the take!!! Our group (25)meets every month and has tried many lunch buffets around town. The Empress Hotel is by far the best lunch buffet in CM. The food is superior in quality in both quantity and options.

Falang 4-5 main dishes, Thai 4-5 main dishes, Dim Sum and Sushi. The salad bar is killer in scope and quality. Cole slaw and potato salad +++! Ice cream with toppings, bottomless coffee served at your table, Creme Carmel to die for all you can eat! Give me a break!! Do you own stock in Shangri La?

    Nice try !!

  8. How is your search going? We had a litter of kittens you could have chosen from but unfortunately they died when a neighbor was playing with fireworks in front of our house killed the kittens mother. The kittens were too young to survive on their own. Sorry to relate such a grisly story but cats seem to have a much lower status in Thailand than dogs as the idiot that did this for the most part goes unpunished. Something to consider when choosing a pet.

  9. We have a 2 year old but unfortunately we are way over in Hang Dong. Near Kad Farang. If there is anyone out this way that might have some interest in this same type of situation please PM me or post here. We are looking for an alternative to what we have seen so far.

I live in Sansai Noi and I would be interested for my 8 year old and my 15 month old but I would have to knowand have proof of the teachers qualifications and fees must be in line.
  10. Well, the times they are a changing~

Forbes.com The source of this story.

    Starbucks

    Specialty: Coffee

    2008 closings: 600 (9% of total)

Outlook: Trapped in a consumer trade-down that has customers buying their java at McDonald's and Dunkin' Donuts, expect Starbucks to close hundreds more of its stores. Being the high-priced alternative doesn't pay right now.

Getting good info on coffee shops (how different are they in Amsterdam :) ) Is an important issue because I think the prices like Starbucks is earning bucks for the chain owners. I mean asking more than 80 baht for a cup of miserable coffee that really cost about 10 baht (Including Everything!!) is outragious.
