Its Muang Thong Thani for people who reside in Bangkok, not Chaengwattana.

You can get an address cert from your Embassy as well.

Can I get this address cert while living in an airbnb? Or can I get an address cert when I get my 1 year lease in a condo?

I assume you're telling me to first go to Chaengwattana and get this certificate before bothering applying for a bank account?

She needs to bring her Original Thai national Id card + Tabien Baan (Blue House Book)

1 copy of each as well and her physical presence.

Other docs as I quoted above excluding the 90 day report.

Let her do the talking in Thai and you will be the proud owner of a residence/address cert.

I have done this in Bangkok with my then GF (now Wife)

Would she have a blue house book if she just rents a condo? And uh where do I go to get those residence certificate? Chaengwattana? I assume you're telling me to first go to Chaengwattana and get this certificate before bothering applying for a bank account?

They can copy you Gf's address from her ID card and make a certificate for you.

I have done this at MTT(Bangkok)

Oh nice, so if she's willing to say I live at her address even if I'm not actually living with her, all I would need is to bring her and say I live at her residence, and with a tm30 form, and my passport + photo and photocopies?

If you have Thai GF then its quite easy.

Some IO require 90 day report, which I guess you wont have, Right?

This is the list from Bangkok Immigration -

People requiring a residence/address certificate (proof of residence) can get this at the immigration office.

This certificate is required when the address has to confirmed at a Thai government agency, for example obtaining a Thai Driving License or buying a car/scooter, opening bank account.

    Prerequisite are:

Up to date address registration (90 Day report)

    Required papers:

    Filled in TM30 form

    Copies from following passport pages:

    Photo page
    Current visa/extension
    Last entry stamp
    TM6 departure card

    Passport size picture.

I do have a thai gf, but we do not live together yet. Why does that make it easy?

And I've never been on a long term visa, I have to do 90 day reports on an ED visa right? I will be doing a 1 year course, I believe I have to extend it every 3 months, so that means I wouldn't have to report, right? Also, would proof of residence work while living at an airbnb condo for a month, or do I need to get my own 1 year lease?

Best Bank is the one who will allow you to open A/c.

Get an address certificate from I.O. before going to hunt for accounts.

Currently I'm living in airbnbs for a month at a time, would it be possible to get a bank account while moving around once a month? Or would I need to get on a 1 year lease before a bank lets me open an account?

  6. I'm in Bang Khae and I want to get a bank account. Currently on tourist visa, about to get a covid extension and then register for a 1 year ED visa. I've read that its a lot easier to get a bank account on an ED visa than a tourist visa, is this correct? If so, I will wait.

Anyways, the banks I'm familiar with are Krungsri, Bangkok bank and Kasikorn Bank. I know nothing about any of them though, what is the best bank for farangs? Is there a list somewhere that shows the difference between the Thai banks? I would prefer the bank with less fees and the best customer support.

  7. So I have only stayed in hotels and airbnb condos, I have never gotten my own lease. I'm on a tourist visa right now, and plan on getting on an ED visa learning Thai. I want to get my own condo on a lease. Are there requirements to get a lease, such as proof of visa and other stuff?

Also, I'm using the propertyhub website to find condos, it lists the condo owners phone number, do they usually speak English when you call? Are you able to message them via email or LINE, or do they usually only communicate on the phone?

    Building B.

    TM7 form with picture.

    Photocopies of passport pages.

    Identity page. Most recent visa.

Entry stamp. TM6. Take along TM30 receipt printout from hotel if you have one. May not be required.

There is a print photocopy photo page lower level.

Many folk prepare all the photocopies, photo, etc prior to going to immigration.

I'm here now with my friend and your information was correct. He's Dutch passport and on a visa exemption and we were told he needs to go muang thong Tani building. Does this sound correct? Is this because he's Dutch or because he's on visa exemption? Everything at chaengwattana went well for me because I'm on a tourist visa?

Immigration will want to see a TM30 report done by the owner or manager of your residence. Some are set up to it them online and you can use a screenshot to the report to prove it was done.

How would I get a report done in my situation? My airbnb host is just renting me his room in the condo building. On airbnb I can choose "get a pdf for visa purposes" and it just has my name on it, where I'm staying and how long I'm staying for. Airbnb also has a "get receipt" option which is basically the same thing. Would these work? If not, should I ask my host if he can help me get this tm30 form ?

Chaeng Watthana Civic Center is correct? And I'm staying in airbnb, will the information I get from airbnb when I click on "get receipt" be enough? It shows my stay until 28 december. Can I just show them from my phone if asked for proof?

  11. Title. I'm staying in a condo in Bang Khae. I want to extend my visa. When I go on grab, it says "Chaeng Watthana Civic Center, and theres building B and building A. Is this the correct place to go? And do I go to building A or B? It's 25-26km so I don't wanna go there to see I've wasted my time. Also, I assume all I need is my tm6 card, passport, and money for the extension and money for my photo + photocopy of passport?

    Download the green superrich app.

You do not get the same rate at every branch. The head office offers the best rate.

For some reason superrich closed their branch in the airport.

It was always the busiest kiosk so they must be making money.

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.toobaya.mobile.superrichthailand

I have the green superrich app. I'm just asking is if i use superrich at the airport, will they give me the rate thats shown on the app? Or will I have to go to a superrich outside of the airport?

Adding to what UbonJoe said, I refused to change to a Non-Imm B when my school pushed me because I would have to leave the country if I stopped teaching.  I'm 84, didn't renew my work permit and retired earlier this month. So glad I didn't get a Non B because I had shoulder surgery, my right arm is in a sling and I can't travel until December!!

Is it hard to get employed at 84? I see on ajarn.com a lot of jobs require less than 60 years old?

You need to check Qatar airways or maybe they have info on their website about their requirements.

So I asked Qatar and they gave me a link. Here is what it says:

"Arriving travellers must possess a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test certificate issued within 72 hours prior to departure from their point of origin. Airlines may require that the test certificate be presented prior to departure, failing which boarding may be denied. Foreign travellers arriving in Phuket under the Samui Plus Sandbox or Phuket Sandbox 7+7 Extension plan will be required to present a certificate for a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result issued within 72 hours prior to arrival, in addition to the vaccination certificate."

So since it says the PCR test has to be ISSUED within 72 hours prior to the departure flight, if I take the test 85 hours before my first flight, and they give me the results 24 hours later, I will have no problems?
