What I did was as follows:

    1. Test at pharmacy 70-72 hours before departure.

    2. Second test at a clinic (free) the following day

As a fall-back plan, I would have gone early to the airport and paid for a while-you-wait test there on the day of departure (expensive) . But as it happened I got both test results in time so no need.

Which pharmacy? How many hours was the turnaround time?

That would be accepted under the Thailand entry requirements. But you need to check to see what the airline requires to board your flight.

Honestly im clueless. And I always thought that the Thailand entry requirements was the test has to be TAKEN within 72hrs of the flight, but if this is the case I think I'll schedule my test for the 6th then, because I don't want to get screwed over by the turnaround time being more than 2 days.

The airline I'm using is American Airlines to fly from Virginia to Texas, and then Qatar Airways for Texas to Doha, and Doha to BKK. Can you help?

Have the test done as close as possible to 72 hours before the day you are flying out.

For entry to Thailand you only need the test result within 72 hours before departure. But some airlines are wanting the test being done within 72 hours.

@ubonjoeso it is within 72hrs of the TEST RESULT, correct? So if I'm flying November 9th at 5pm, I could have my test at say November 6th 12pm, and they would give me my test result the next day, would this work? Seeing as if I do that, I would be taking the test longer than 72 hours.

A return or onward ticket is a bogus requirement for any visa the embassies and consulates have created.

A return or onward ticket is not a requirement if you have a valid visa to board a flight

Hi @ubonjoemy visa just got approved today. Will I be asked for onward ticket proof by anyone? I assume not because I have a tourist visa now, but just wanting to make sure so I don't get screwed at the airport

Also, on my tourist visa my name is listed as "Last name, first name, middle name" format, is this normal?

The ticket will be valid  for for a few days if they check to see if is real ticket and you can pay a little for it to be valid longer.

Yeah, I know you can pay like $15 more or whatever the fee is to make the ticket last 2 weeks. But in your experience helping people with visas and the onward ticket problems, do you think my 48 hour ticket from one of those onward travel websites would work with the thai embassy as proof of onward travel? Or would I get denied?

They may or may not check. It may depend partly on how busy they are (which right now is probably not very).

EDIT: Note that using Skyscanner you can probably find a ticket from Bangkok to Singapore for about $40 which (in the larger scheme of things) might be worth it for peace of mind.

I'm not sure of what Asian countries are currently closed / open for travel. Is Singapore currently open, where if I booked a ticket there, it would be believable? I know Vietnam and PH are both closed, so im just trying to make sure

Send the additional documentation to [email protected] as they requested. Make sure you use the same email address to send from as the one where you received their message. Presumably, they collate the additional document with your original application using your email address.

Thank you, I'll buy a ticket and email them. Will a $10 ticket from onwardticket work, or do they actually check? I want to get on an ED visa after my tourist visa expires, and don't want to waste money on a ticket out of BKK

From you mail, I assume that you received the mail from a so called "unattended mail", just check the mail address in the header of your mail. It probably is something like "[email protected]".

They do not want you to use the "reply" button, BUT to create a NEW mail and send the requested document to the mail address they provided.

  9. I submitted my application for my tourist visa a few days ago on the thaievisa website, using the DC embassy.

    Today I got an email:

    Dear Applicant,

Pls submit the following docs through [email protected] 1. copy of flight confirmation, leaving from Thailand

*Please note this is an auto generated e-mail. Please do NOT reply to this email.

    Best wishes,
    E-Visa Team

I am on a one way ticket to BKK. I will just buy a one way showing from BKK to anywhere, basically. Am I meant to just send an email to [email protected] or am I meant to edit my application? Because I'm on the application website, and can't figure out how to edit my application since I already paid and submitted it.

    Private property should be OK.

Just submitted. I could not upload a folder full of pictures like you said, it would only allow one pic, so I posted the picture of my visa page with my last visit in Thailand. How long does it typically take for DC embassy to finish processing the visa online? Also, I'm flying Nov 9, when do you suggest i apply for coe? Also, if my visa gets accepted, what do I do after that? Because there will be no stamp in my passport, idk how this online system works.

Sorry got confused by a post bringing Australia into the conversation

I see no reason to upload all the blank pages.

Just upload the pages that show your last trip to Thailand. You could upload the blank page after that to show their were no other trips

There isn't an option to upload multiple pictures, only 1. So you think I should just upload the page where I was stamped out leaving in 2019?

Also, for accomodation proof I am using the place called "Teak Villa Bangkok" off of booking.com. It says its a one bedroom apartment. On the visa application, should I select that I'm staying in a Dormitory, Hotel or Private Property? There's no option for "apartment".

I assume you are applying online to the Thai embassy in Canberra or official consulate in Sydney.

    https://sydney.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/visa-application-online-2

I have never heard of any Thai embassy or consulate wanting all those copies for a tourist visa.

Also heres what numbers 7 through 10 look like. https://gyazo.com/bf6c3d4c60921e16f41820d541ee902a

Should I upload my blank pages or should I upload a picture of the visa page where I last traveled? It was Thailand in 2019.

  13. Quick question on my tourist visa application.
8 . Applicant is required to upload his/her passport pages which contain all travel records for the past 12 months (1 year) since the last international trip.
If I haven't traveled in the past 12 months, do I just not upload anything here? This is what I think, but I'm not sure and dont wanna mess it up

Edit: It won't even let me submit the application unless I upload something, so I don't know what to post exactly. I just uploaded 2 blank visa pages, but I highly doubt that's the correct thing to do. Help please

I would suggest to apply for extension in the last coupe of weeks.

I have never seen a rule quoted that covers your question.

Go too early and immigration may ask you to apply later.

Yeah thats the point of my question, I recall seeing people say something like during the last 30 days of your stay you should extend it, but I am not sure 100%.

Remember the wheels are also counted in the measuring ....

    Most airlines take a max linear of 115 cm ( 45,27559 Inches ), your bag would cross that with a small 2 inches (depending if the give Amazon sizing includes the wheels }

For be safe contact airline you go take

How strict are airlines in thailand in your experience about bag dimensions? Or do you use suitcases that are within the dimensions of the airlines?

This is the bag I'm looking at, I have the 28 inch checked version of it and like it, but would this 20 inch version be too big to use on flights while in Thailand? For example flying from Thailand to Vietnam, or Bangkok to Chiang Mai, etc. Dimensions are 23.0" x 14.5" x 9.5" (linear 47 inches). I have no idea how strict airlines in Thailand are about this so thats why I'm making this topic. If it is too big, then what are the maximum dimensions I should be getting in a carryon bag?
