Majority Oppose Re-Criminalising Cannabis in Thailand
fredwiggy replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
You're comparing a person who smokes weed, which doesn't make people violent but usually calms them, and lets people let off steam in an ever stressful world, to a person who uses control to force himself on a woman, a person who drives a 2 ton vehicle while drunk and which causes thousands of deaths yearly, and a person who takes the chance to enter another country to raise money for himself or family? That is about the dumbest response to a q posting I've seen yet. Marijuana makes money, for people and the government, and helps people cope- 85 replies

Fighting ants here is a daily occurrence, no matter how clean your house is kept. They can find the tiniest speck of food and home in on it. I keep the ant baits handy and use vinegar when I see a trail. It kills them and cuts off the access trail. I also find them in the coffee pot, which is only used for water, and is less than a meter from the sink, so that is weird. I hear peppermint oil works also if you're not wanting to use traditional insecticides. I'll find a trail in the back next to the house, and use the ant baits. They bring it to the queen, and the mound dies. Then a few days later, I'll find another trail in the front, and repeat. Nothing much you can do but remove them as you find them, and try to keep your house as clean as possible. A mouse can get under a door or in a hole the size of a quarter, so imagine what an ant can do.

It appears he was only working as a firefighter for a month, and that maybe he didn't come into any real stressful situations like a veteran has. I know a few firefighters and yes, they have seen a lot of bad situations, but none of them has gone off the deep end like this one has. Again, you do learn how to handle many situations as a child growing up, from your parents and how they act in them. Learning self control starts as a child. Of course many situations a person might see are very stressful but composure is still learned as a child, and practiced from then on. I have seen people burned to death, dead in traffic accidents, and other violent situations and it does bother me, but it has nothing to do with how you act with other people. whether drinking or sober, and especially people you look at as friends. This man was a time bomb waiting to go off, and might have acted violently before, although not as bad as this case. There are people that go into jobs where you use guns and where a lot of stress happens, and these are not jobs you take if you have issues with self control or power, although it happens all the time as we see many cops shooting people who are unarmed.

People using knives and machetes in crimes is a daily thing here. You only see a very small portion of what goes on here daily, and need to look up stats. And what he die is discretion , which means backing out of a situation that could be deadly, as some are loose cannons and will kill for no reason but their own insecurity. An off duty cop still carrying his gun is someone who is hooked on a power trip, and could get out of control and use that gun. No matter how tough you are, a bullet can stop you, so it's better to stay out of trouble, unless you or family are threatened.

What exactly does "handling" your beer mean? Ability to walk when you've had a 12 pack? Being able to drive drunk? Not coming on to another person's girlfriend when you've had a few? A person should always be able to control their emotions This , again, is something that should be taught as a child. Temper tantrums allowed to get out of control mean a child growing up to be a narcissist or thinking they can do whatever they want without repercussions. Someone getting violent when they drink is someone that's a person with a short fuse and prone to violence anyway. Having a few beers is not an excuse to lash out and hit someone, rape a woman of kill. A person drinks to feel better, to "loosen up" so to speak, and not to engage in violence. Stabbing someone for any reason is a mental problem, unless it's in self defense of yourself or family. carrying a weapon is a reason to use it. Having one available in a house when someone goes after you is self defense.

Traffic police crack down on dangerous tourist habits on Koh Larn
fredwiggy replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
There is a right and a wrong way to do things, and it doesn't matter where. Some countries have cultures where women are looked at as inferior. This is wrong no matter what. Some person a long time ago thought a certain idea was good, and many followed him because they either liked him or it sounded right to them. That doesn't mean it was a good idea. It just means a lot of people are weak and or followers. This is the definition of a third world country............. noun , (sometimes lowercase) the underdeveloped nations of the world, especially those with widespread poverty. the group of developing nations, especially of Asia and Africa, that do not align themselves with the policies of either the U.S. or the former Soviet Union. the minority groups within a nation or predominant culture............................Thailand is a developing country, but still behind many other countries. You can see this in law enforcement, corruption amount, electricity and it's supply system, and how it shuts off so many times in areas, Corruption is widespread because of poverty and low wages, which makes it behind in thinking. A country that wants it's people not to have a good education is a third world country. Fear of reprisal. -

fredwiggy replied to snoop1130's topic in Pattaya News
Lining pockets is corruption, and illegal. Better yet to actually enforce the laws here, and save many lives daily. There are good and bad ways to do things, and that separates countries from being first world to third world. Copying good behaviors helps anyone regardless of where you live, as there is always a right way and a wrong way. -

Because that would make sense, and save thousands of lives yearly. -
Stabbing your friends for any reason is a mental issue. Billions of people drink but don't get violent. The ones that do have issues related to self control, which should be learned as a child from parents that know how to teach it. Alcohol can exacerbate what a person is already feeling inside, so it's true many should not drink.

British Army Veteran Dies Unexpectedly during Thailand Holiday
fredwiggy replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Can't comment on this particular man, but a huge majority of people worldwide work all year, saving what they can, just to take a week or two holiday somewhere. This is especially true if you have children. Another thing many don't get, is that many people have little to no savings also, for the same reasons. There are many hundreds of thousands of people working jobs that just get them by. A single person who lives in an apartment has a much better chance to travel, as they have no other expenses besides the basics. If people, especially here, knew just how many are close to losing their homes, cars and such, because it's getting harder each year to make ends meet, they wouldn't think, all farangs are rich. Millions don't have insurance coverage for these same reasons. Some us gofundme for greed, but many need it to just bury a relative so you never know until you know., -
No matter how many foreigners have come to Thailand, we are still "different" than the local men. Some of course look at foreigners as money, but women are still women, and attraction can still be there, and seeing most country Thai women are a bit shy, the ones that come out and say this to you have already been around foreigners and are attracted to them for this difference. Like any relationship, only time will tell what their motives are.

What you think about Asian wife's or Girlfriends
fredwiggy replied to still kicking's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
That's what I meant when I said the girl someone posted was attractive but skinny. A lot here seem to like girls that weigh less than 90 lbs, and are over 5' tall. That is basically a teenager's body, and to me it's just wrong. There are millions of girls with more meat on them that are still as, or more attractive. I don't understand the thinking besides domination. Women are supposed to have curves at any age past teenager. Any smaller makes it like you're with a teenager, and if you're 60 and above??? My ex wife was 5' tall and weighed 95 lbs when I met her. She lost weight and her attraction went away. She looked like a teenager again besides her face. -
Pit Bull Mixed-Breed Dog Attacks, Seriously Injures Five-Year-Old Girl
fredwiggy replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
I like dogs, and have had them all of my life, but some dogs should not be allowed freedom because of this. The fact is, any dog can bite and cause damage, but some breeds like the Pit can cause severe damage very quickly, which means they should never be allowed to be in proximity of anyone, especially children and the elderly, who cannot protect themselves at all. A dog that attacks a child like this should be put down because it has no fear of humans, and just like bears, when this happens, tragedies occur. This will happen again so sadly there is no other recourse, although many people will not want to part with their pets. This should be left to a proper authority to resolve, if they can find one. -
Do Thai men get jealous we take all the hot women?
fredwiggy replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
To put things plainly, as i did earlier to another, NO ONE knows what other people think about anything, unless they are asked, and then they can lie or exaggerate. A man with money can get most any woman he wants, because a lot of gorgeous women, including Asians, are gold diggers. I, and many here who have stated this, have seen hot Thai women with regular, overweight foreigners because they have money. You seem to miss the fact that this culture is world known as far as how the men are. Women here are looked at as slaves, inferior, objects, to them, and they know this, although they will still go with a rich Thai because he's, rich. How can a rich Thai businessman put a foreigner to shame? Maybe the cheap ones, because again, women everywhere are always looking for the best deal they can get, besides those who have low self esteem and think no one can love them. An average retiree still makes more than most locals. The hi-so's make more, and they usually stick with other hi-so's, who these women don't seem to understand, will cheat on and abuse them also. In any event, this isn't putting an average retiree, who is a good provider, good husband and good lover to shame. No one, no matter how much they have, is any better than anyone else who is a good man. The problem is that many women are generally ignorant as far as what makes a good man is concerned, many preferring to stay with some just because they have more money, which is no guarantee they have anything else going for them. The main characters here are the same everywhere, because of how women think. The one with more money is better, no matter if he's a human trafficking, drug dealing, abusive or cheating scumbag. If he's a good family man, all he needs is one good woman, but if you look at Hollywood and the like, most marriages fail no matter how much money is involved. -
Do Thai men get jealous we take all the hot women?
fredwiggy replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I posted a link explaining why women go into the trade, seeing the comment on lots of jobs was directed at me. As far as the last line, my ex chose me because her two men she had children with cheated on her and were into drugs. I saw only the fact they didn't want anything to do with their daughters, and that's enough for me to understand why a woman would leave. She has been with Thais after me, and both are drunks that hit her. One threatened my daughter if my ex didn't keep in contact with him, and I plainly told her to tell him he needs to stay away if he doesn't want to be thrown out with the trash. She is now going to visit a Polish man in Germany, and did tell me earlier in our relationship she didn't like Thai men. This shows they will go anywhere money is forked out, at least for awhile. -
Justice Sought for 11-Year-Old Girl in Buriram Sexual Assault Case
fredwiggy replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Eventually, if enough people complained, and didn't give in, something might be done, and they should be paying attention, because every incident that happens here gets out to the world public, and will reduce their tourist dollars, which is enough incentive to make changes. -
Justice Sought for 11-Year-Old Girl in Buriram Sexual Assault Case
fredwiggy replied to webfact's topic in Isaan News
Removal from office those that won't do their jobs, and severe punishment for those hurting children is the start of the beginning of the end of corruption. Money buys off too many guilty of despicable crimes, and this says you can do whatever you want, as long as you know the right person or have enough money to grease the palms. -
Do Thai men get jealous we take all the hot women?
fredwiggy replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Maybe they've lived here long enough to know what goes on? Maybe they want better for their daughter than becoming a farmer's wife? Living here all their lives, knowing most jobs are dead end and won't give you a secure future. Of course some weirdos manipulate their daughters to go looking for a cash cow, who will let funds go downstream to them, or talk their daughters to sell the bodies for the same reason. -
Do Thai men get jealous we take all the hot women?
fredwiggy replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
You should have found a question mark at the end of that sentence. ......................Since I've lived here, I have been asked maybe 15 or more times that question, so it does happen. They are looking for a way out of their past hurtful relationships, hoping a foreigner will actually love and take care of them instead of just using them for sex. -
Do Thai men get jealous we take all the hot women?
fredwiggy replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
What would you know about what any local might think might be considered a hot girl? You, nor anyone else, knows what anyone on earth thinks. And who cares what they think anyway? Most of them are run of the mill, average looking, much the same as everyone else here too. I, in just 6 years here, have seen many hot looking women with foreigners, including my own ex wife, and many plain looking girls with locals also. What you consider a peasant woman might be hot to another man. Just like in every country worldwide, many hot women end up with fat rich businessmen who have never exercised a day in their lives but have money the girls can buy things with. Women are kinda stupid that way. They'll marry someone they don't like having sex with, just to show off gold on the hands and a nice car to drive around in, instead of being with a decent looking, hard working man who's also a father figure. Take money out of the picture, and you would see more legitimate matches. -

The ridiculous age of consent of 15, which some start even earlier. One thing that needs to be done here is fathers actually being close to their daughters. This lowers the chance of young girls having sex with useless locals who's only desire is to bed as many clueless girls as possible, and then leave them once they get pregnant, which has the moms thinking they need to go elsewhere to make money, instead of staying home and taking care of their children. The kids get left with grandma, who is usually too old or busy to do an effective job, and without those fathers, the girls end up looking for that perfect missing dad, and have sex with boys who couldn't care less, repeating this cycle for generations. -
Do Thai men get jealous we take all the hot women?
fredwiggy replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I have seen many foreigners with very beautiful wives here. My ex, although disturbed, was considered hot and was the best looking girl around our village. Time and diabetes are taking their toll but that happens to the best. Before I moved here, there was a Thai restaurant I used to go to close to my job. They were from Korat. Every once in awhile I would see Thai women with their husbands and many of them were very pretty. One in particular was with an average looking older man, and their daughter, maybe in his 60's. She was beautiful in every way. A 10, so that also throws your reply out the window. -

fredwiggy replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
A lot of women end up there being forced by disturbed parents looking for cash. Women feel a responsibility to their parents here, and that sometimes means degrading yourself. Some are forced into the trade. Some are into a drug habit they can't quit. I'm not into this scene, but I feel for some of them. They aren't ugly unless they are the ones who are the evil ones, using their trade to scam customers into robbery or assault. Yes, most of them have a mental issue, but most of the time they were hurt as children and became that way.
