Apology from Pattaya Pub Guards after Assault on Tourists
fredwiggy replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
This comes from having no fathers in the household, who are the ones who teach boys respect for others, and not to kick people when they're down, because it makes you look like a coward who doesn't want to fight fair. This will someday happen to someone who knows how to defend themself, and the locals will suffer a beat down that will make news. Only problem with that is that then the foreigner will look like the bad guy, even if he didn't start the fight. -

By now most if not all of us know you don't like foreigners, which means you're either Thai and prejudiced or an anti-social that hates others because he was raised that way, and doesn't know any better. If you're saying the locals loathe us, and you're a foreigner yourself, that means you're included in that loathing. Best you just skipalong, cassidy.- 299 replies

Also, tell your woman and children you love them, by action and words. Do what you can to live in a place where you are comfortable, safe and able to enjoy your hobbies. Stay away from toxic people. Some cannot do these simple things, even though they know they are the right things to do, because of fear, anxiety or not having them done for them as they grew older. Challenge yourself to do things you know are right, but hesitant because they aren't on your normal agenda. -

Why would I sleep? I'm watching a good movie. I get up at 5 AM and go to sleep when I'm tired, ensuring I get at least 8 hours of good sleep, because it's good for the mind and body. It makes you think clearly, not make snap judgements, not assume things are so without evidence, make it easier to comprehend the written word, and ensure you make a good argument when you know you are right. -

I don't think you read much but just skim, like a lot do here, and make decisions based on a few words taken out of context and placed into your own misunderstandings. I'm watching "For Love of the Game", a great baseball movie, and I will go to bed when it's finished, so maybe you better slow down and not reply before you really understand a post. -

Actually, I'm right on in all I've said. You're not getting the main point I'm making and that's why I asked you if English was your first language, because most anyone would understand what I said. The OP did NOT tell anyone to do anything dangerous. He DID say he did something to challenge himself, although it was a dangerous thing to do. He then, if you still haven't understood it, said, "Are you a stagnant old man or achieving challenges? Place yourself into challenges as you get older instead of doing nothing ! Please I would love to hear from you guys who climb mountains ,do very long bike rides ,cycle races long distance". Where do you interpret this as telling others to do anything dangerous, because I, nor anyone else here I'm sure, see this as so?. He's plainly asking them to, place themselves into challenges (not dangerous situations but things that challenge them), as they get older instead of doing nothing, meaning, instead of just sitting around drinking in a bar, watching TV all day long, working in the garden, going for a walk, playing ping pong, swimming in a pool, walking their dog, or a million other normal daily activities, to challenge themselves and do something they've never done, but maybe wanted to do, were afraid to try because of a fear of failing, or just wanted to live in a safe zone. You have not said anything you consider dangerous. The only thing I could think of is climbing mountains, which isn't dangerous unless you're talking about K2, which isn't climbing a mountain as much as it is possible suicide. You've said he was trying to put others in that position, and he hasn't. I see much of what I've said has gone over your head, so maybe that's also the things that are as plain as day. Many here have heard you out on some of your posts, which do sound a little out there. This is yet another one. If you don't understand what others are saying, maybe you shouldn't reply, as I do understand that some who's first language isn't English might interpret things differently than those that are. Lost in translation so to speak. It might be a good thing for you to re-read the OP's post, and see what he's asking others to do. It isn't, like you thought, to tell others to do risky things but challenging things, so they don't just do nothing as they get older. That's how I see it, and I'm sure how most others do also. -
Thai Boy Rescued After Father’s Abuse Over Religion Choice

Evil exists in every corner of the world, and it's all traced back to people that were not raised with respect for life. Narcissist leaders, which includes most of them, are voted in by us, hoping they'll do something to help others besides the rich and shameless. There is more slavery today than ever before, and human trafficking is rampant worldwide because people get paid off, meaning officials. The only way things will change is if these trash are totally eliminated from the earth, and that means by drastic measures past what we believe to be laws, and onto doing what's needed to protect the innocent and our earth. -

Anything you do after you leave the house involving movement could be considered dangerous. In fact, many people are hurt and killed in their own bathrooms every year. He didn't ask them to risk their lives like he did, but to tell him what they are doing to challenge themselves. What example do you consider dangerous? Climbing mountains is probably safer than taking a shower. Cycling is probably safer than walking down a Thai road. Riding a bike is probably safer than driving a scooter in traffic. You could stay on your couch eating bon bons every day but you'll probably die younger from a heart attack. So? -
Thai Boy Rescued After Father’s Abuse Over Religion Choice

One needs to fully read and understand what one reads before making judgement. This article, if fully read, will describe why some think Muslims want to persecute all infidels, which some think means anyone opposed to their religion. Picking things apart, looking for lines that you feel are a full description of Muslims feelings towards other religions, will never have you understand what's behind the Quran. I'm a Christian, and respect other religions, even those that don't believe in God, because it's not mine to judge them but God's.An excerpt from the following link What does the Quran say about respecting other religions? Allah ordered us to respect one another and not to force anyone to enter Islam. Here are Quran verses about other religions “Allah does not forbid you to deal justly and kindly with those who fought not against you on account of religion and did not drive you out of your homes. Verily, Allah loves those who deal with equity.” [60:8] In the above verse we can see clearly that the Quran instructs Muslims to be kind and nice toward people of other religions. Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said “Know that people are of two types: they are either your brothers in religion or your equals in creation.” From this hadith, Ali Ibn Abi Talib instructs us to treat all people with kindness. Because even if they don’t share the same religion and believe they are humans and equal to us. Allah Says in the holy Quran: “Do not abuse those whom they worship besides Allah” (6:108) ...............https://studioarabiya.com/blog/what-does-the-quran-say-about-other-religions/. -

The first part of his post was him talking about what he did himself. The second I already posted but will post again seeing you aren't understanding what he said.................... "Are you a stagnant old man or achieving challenges? Place yourself into challenges as you get older instead of doing nothing ! Please I would love to hear from you guys who climb mountains ,do very long bike rides ,cycle races long distance, etc".............................Now, read this again and see that he doesn't say anything about anyone else taking any chances that are dangerous, like he did walking in Manila at night near a subway. He wants others to tell how they challenged themselves, by bike rides, cycle races, long distance etc, nothing about risking your life in any way. Placing yourself into challenges means challenging yourself to do things you've either never done or haven\t yet accomplished. Understand now? -

Many times and never saw any trouble, although it did happen almost daily, and more now than before. Many people think living in the US with all it's "gun violence", is a hrd thing, but I lived there from birth to 62 and never saw much of anything, and I was outside walking, driving and living near major cities all that time. But taking a chance walking late at night by yourself in any major city now is playing Russian roulette. -

Yes, to challenge yourself, not to put yourself in harms way, like he did. What he did wasn't too smart. I lived in New Jersey, and worked in and visited NYC many times, as my parents were from Brooklyn, and every time I was there, I made sure I stayed in well lit areas and was never alone. This was back in the 70's to 80's. Now I would be even more careful. -

I only wish I didn't train so heavy when I was younger. I combined bodybuilding with power lifting because I liked the heavy weights, but they always do the most damage whereas most bodybuilders don't use very heavy weights but lighter ones and use steroids to gain mass. Your joints are the weak link and can't take too much before you damage them. This is why many top power lifters can't walk well when they get older, and why I have some trouble some days doing the same. I didn't do the drugs but did do the heaviness. -

Much of the damage done to rotator cuffs comes from doing lat pulldowns behind the neck. Anything you do to pull puts a strain on the shoulder joints. The rotator cuffs are muscles that support the shoulder joint. The primary joints involved in a pullup are the shoulder and elbow joints, so if you have any damage to the rotator cuffs, like I do, pullups are to be done very carefully if at all. At the end of the bottom part of a pullup is where the shoulder is under strain, and I always do things in full range of motion. I tore both of mine doing exercises with too heavy weights for too long. I was told by the doctor I shouldn't work out anymore but being in the game , now for 50 years, and this happening when I was around 50, I knew not to listen to him because no one knows your body like you do, and I was into training others for almost 20 years myself, and know that not exercising means atrophy, which means the joints have no stabilization. -

As many age, they get fatter, which makes it harder for them to pull up their own body weight. If you stay slim, you will lose strength as you age, but will still be able to do pullups if you exercise regularly. I used to be able to do over 20, but lifting very heavy weights over 50 years hurt my rotator cuffs. I can still do pulldowns with around 170 lbs, which is my body weight, sets of 10, but I really don't want to try pullups in the regular manner because they might hurt my shoulder joints. -

There are many people who will never be able to do 30 pushups but are in excellent health. Most of health involves a good diet plan, and regular exercise. There are millions of walkers out there who have no health problems internally and live long lives. many in the blue zones just keep active and live to over 100. I did mention other things you can do to challenge yourself. many just involve health because they are physical. -

To challenge yourself to do things you haven't before, to grow. Not to put yourself, like he did, in a possibly dangerous situation just to see if you make it through. -

Being closed minded, going by prejudice, false reports and listening to others like minded doesn't make one grow with regards to knowledge. Just because it's Muslims that are the majority of terrorists doesn't mean they all are this way. I've been in this world almost 68 years, and coming from the US, hear everything about world news, and I, along with everyone I personally know, understand that their religion isn't one of violence unless it's to defend themselves. Others using it as a crutch to destroy are practicing what the Quran says, but twisting it to meet their own sick, disturbed ideologies. Try not to guess what the whole world knows, because you really haven't personally met more then some 80,000 people in your life, and don't know how most of them think behind closed doors. People aren't affected by anything unless they are weak or uneducated, and need something in their lives to look up to. Many choose the wrong paths because they were never taught respect for life and others, and this is their parents fault. There are many Muslims that hate westerners because this is what they've been taught by unstable people. There are millions who only want to get on with their lives and don't hate others. This happens everywhere. There are people who get on planes and see a person wearing a turban and panic because of ignorance. Just one link among many to read, although there are people who believe otherwise, and again, are close minded...........https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/islam-religion-peace-guidance-humanity-muhammad-khurshid- -

Anything you do you haven't yet done before is a challenge. I mentioned physical because they are among the many things that are challenging, especially to those that haven't been physical. If you can't do 10 pushups, then 15 is a challenge, then 20, 30 and so on. I rarely trained in a cardiovascular way, preferring weights and martial arts, but my resting pulse is still 58, and blood pressure is usually 154/60, and blood sugar around 88, because my diet was always very healthy. That's another challenge. eating healthier than you have before. Giving up cigarettes, excessive drinking, drugs. What is a challenge to you is just to you. Everyone is coming from a different place, and there are many challenges you can do, both for health and self esteem. As far as walking down any dark street late at night, in a big city, that's plain stupid, and could cost you your life. It might be a challenge over fear, but there are many cowards worldwide just looking to prey on people walking alone, and even if you're Chuck Norris, you can't fight a gun. -

I am correct. I'm a reader, a constant reader, of things pertaining to psychology, both in children and in adults. I have 6 children, mostly raised by myself, and am fully aware of their limitations at an early age, what they know and what they can learn. All of my children, including the almost 8 year old with me now, are very intelligent. English or any other boys are much the same, especially raised in western countries or japan, as the schooling is better by far there. Children at 8 are just beginning to develop their brains, to understand more complex things. of course some start a tad younger and many older, by by and large, this is just the starting point, as the brain isn't fully developed until your mid to late 20's. As far as Muslim ideologies, all Muslims aren't violent, wife beating or neglecting men. Many go by their culture, which , like Thailand and Buddhists in general, look at women as inferior, and that's not a good thing. Muslims that use religion as a means of force and violence, besides in self defense, aren't practicing the Quaran but twisting it in their own ways for power and control. People that hurt anyone sexually are wrong, and this is hardly limited to the Middle eastern countries. It's a worldwide problem, as trafficking, and rape or sexual deviations, are everywhere, and need to be stopped, by any means possible.
