  1. I'm sure you, as an adult, knows the amount of damage alcohol does compared to weed, and the deaths it causes daily, along with thousands of accidents where people are hurt and maimed. yes, wed does cause some problems, but there is no comparison to what alcohol does.
  2. It absolutely doesn't make me wonder why you would stick up for this one, as he's just like you in the way's we've seen all along. Remember, everyone's watching who backs up who here, and knows their motives.
  3. As is mine. So far.
  4. Many different opinions on the subject but eating anything in moderation isn't that harmful, and the amount of chlorine in Sucralose, Splenda isn't a worry to people as much as the effects it may have on the digestive system if consumed n large quantities................ Does Splenda Contain Chlorine and is it Unhealthy? (August 2008) It is true that Splenda is made using Chlorine, which sounds scary, but the sugar industry warns that you are actually “eating chlorine” when consuming sucralose, the chemical sold as Splenda. Plain sugar is transformed into sucralose by substituting three chlorine atoms for hydrogen, creating a substance that is not digested by the body, so it’s effectively calorie free and that’s 600 times sweeter than sugar. There is no evidence that the chlorine atoms in sucralose are any more dangerous than they are in, say sodium chloride (ordinary salt). Before giving sucralose the OK, the US Food and Drug Administration reviewed more than 110 human and animal studies demonstrating its safety...............https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/sucralose-good-or-bad#safety
  5. And Brazil, Thailand, Colombia, Indonesia, Peru, Honduras, India, Ethiopia and other African countries, Ecuador, Venezuela, Mexico, Costa Rica along with others.
  6. The more you add, the less you taste the coffee but good coffee will always taste better than average, especially the less you put in it. When I first tried the Vietnamese last week, with only a tad of sugar, it sold me on how good Vietnamese actually is. Never had coffee so rich besides espresso.
  7. Lot being said about SS and some sounds like it can be stopped, but although I dislike trump, some of what he's trying to do is actually preventing the loss of benefits. Time will tell. No one in their right minds would try and take survival money away from over 70 million Americans because it would be about the last thing they would do.
  8. I'm aware that Splenda isn't as safe as they'd like you think, as it can cause stomach issues. I've used it for many years without any problems, but I'm more leaning towards Stevia. The chlorination is a concern but salt itself has as many atoms of chlorine in it.
  9. Stevia and Truvia are kinda different, but use them. Usually go to Splenda and Equal.
  10. Thanks. I'm looking at the Bialetti's and will decide soon.
  11. Found this for whoever needs it...............https://www.bialetti.com/it_en/inspiration/post/how-to-clean-the-coffee-pot-at-home-natural-and-effective-remedies?srsltid=AfmBOooau2_sWBJs-0PTk5mpAQsDxqIhFF0Y-wGM3He9hSTki_JuF8cU
  12. Along with the assorted brown nosers, those who favor locals over their own kind, and stick up for them and make excuses for their bad behavior. And by the way, you're way outnumbered here also, by a huge margin.
  13. Because of all the myriad of things Thailand has adopted from the west, that is one of them they didn't.
  14. If you watch local news daily on a variety of channels you'll see many stories that take up a lot of time that would never make news in the west. Most of the stories are about people robbing gold stores after parking their scooters outside with the license plates in full view of the CCTV, snakes found in homes in Bangkok, daily road death accidents and people driving off into canals, or 5 chasing 1 down a street armed with sticks.
  15. Of course you have a life. It entails talking down to many foreigners here, and brown nosing to assume you get favor from locals. Remember, there are Thai forums where you might be more welcome.
  16. What you don't realize, is that everyone who kills or maims another, thought they were a safe driver driving after drinking. Another thing is that while drunk, you only think you're driving safely. Police can follow a drunk driver just a short distance before realizing they're impaired, at least in the west, where you're a lot less likely to get away with it in the first place.
  17. You aren't offending me, because I'm not one of the "typical" foreigners you think you personally know who are trashy drunks. What you consistently do, and keeping that true here, is assume you know anyone on this forum and what kind of life they have. Also, you assume many foreigners are like the one mentioned here, and that Thais are somehow immune to this kind of behavior. You're living in a fantasy world, because this happens with many in this country, daily, as I and many others can attest, and most of the time it's locals. This happens but I don't assume all or in fact most locals are drunks that cause trouble. It's a select group, just like it is in your country and every other. That you keep responding shows just what you are even more, and obviously you miss this. You are also a keyboard warrior, seeing you keep coming back for more. The difference is, you were wrong in what you said, both here and in many other topics, that foreigners are a "typical" lot that causes trouble like this, and dismiss that locals are 95% at least of what goes on here daily. If you aren't willing to call me trashy in person, don't so it here. One, you wouldn't get away with it in person, and two, it shows what a 'warrior" you are, meaning a coward.
  18. Seems like the only ones that look at me as a pest are those others look at as annoying, prejudiced trolls. You have a nasty habit of trashing foreigners, and a lot of us take it personally, especially seeing you stick up for locals, which is okay if they're doing something right but not if they're breaking the laws, and make excuses for them when they do. Remember, you're also on your keyboard, annoying others besides myself like a gnat that you just can't catch.
  19. I've heard this a few times from those who visited Starbucks, especially here. I'm guessing the training didn't get through to them like it does in the US. I usually go to Starbucks when I'm back there visiting, and the coffee has always been consistently good. Add on's do taste good but some prefer coffee with as little as possible added. Just like restaurants that serve the same type of food. Some get it right and some never do.
  20. People get into things either serious or just enough to make them happy, like you mentioned. I see why others get so involved in coffee making as it's a science. Just like fishing which I'm into seriously. Some use a cane pole and a can of worms, and catch fish to eat, which is just fine. Others like myself use all manner of fishing tackle for all types of fishing, and look at fishing as a sport, putting yourself against the fish in a battle of sorts, where both can win if it's catch and release or one wins and it's grilled swordfish. I see coffee making as an art also, and where I can experiment with many types of beans and see which ones I like the most. I've definitely opened my eyes yearly since I first started drinking, and more so since I just returned from Vietnam.
  21. And you're like a spoiled teenage boy who doesn't understand restraint and respect.
  22. Braun is always a go to brand, and electric also seems a more practical choice. I might get the manual one now and upgrade when I'm back home.
  23. Or married the wrong woman when they moved here and are still there because Thai women are among the most alluring on planet earth.
