  1. Actually Singapore does have a drug problem with young users, even though they have a zero tolerance. People who want to use drugs will.
  2. You're really against weed it seems, but don't really know much about it, as is the case of many who've never tried it. No one laces weed with hallucinogens, as they cost money, are are just sold as is.
  3. People here get food poisoning all the time, from many sources, and many die from it in the US and other countries. Hard to tell where you got it unless it's the only place you've eaten at for a couple of days. I was referring to the healthiness of the salad greens available on salad bars. Chicken, left out like it is here, is the highest cause.
  4. Salad greens are among the healthiest food available, and most are very low in calories, unless you pile on the salad dressing.
  5. And Trump has 4 years to prove what his power can do for the average man, and not just the rich. Many in the US are brainwashed by this man, following him no matter what he does, and that's not a smart idea. People on the outside, who aren't political, have seen what politics has done for the US as long as they've lived, and both sides need work.
  6. Ever look up how many KKK members the US has? Along with other hate groups? ..............https://www.statista.com/statistics/740008/us-hate-groups-by-type/
  7. Who on the left supports terrorists and criminals? No one I've ever known. The definition of leftist is this.......... Left wing politics Left-wing politics describes the range of political ideologies that support and seek to achieve social equality and egalitarianism, often in opposition to social hierarchy as a wholeor certain social hierarchies. Left-wing politics typically involve a concern for those in society whom its adherents perceive as disadvantaged relative to others as well as a belief that there are unjustified inequalities that need to be reduced or abolished, through radical means that change the nature of the society they are implemented in...................Seems like people who are concerned with others welfare, so the nonsense the other side spews has little to do with the ideas behind leftist politics. Remember, I take neither side and only hope the morons can someday work together.
  8. The first time I came here it was for Songkran, where I met my now ex wife. I was 62 then and they had me soaked din a few minutes. I expected it so was fine with it. If you don't want to get wet, you have to stay in your car until you get to where you're going, hopefully not a place with revelers lined up.
  9. Not only a Thai thing, but in all my years, personally, living in big and small cities and the country, I have never witnessed this kind of unfair fighting, and neither has anyone else I've talk to this about. It happens more in a society where children are dismissed by parents and sent to grandma to live, while the "parent" feels they have to work in a far away city and send a little money back now and then, seeing the kids a couple times a year. This is because it's mostly single mothers, as the boys aren't being held responsible for the children they make by the court system, and Thailand leads the free world with children raised by grandparents, a full one third, while Laos next door has around 3% .This is full and not part time while parents are working and coming home to their kids daily.
  10. Lot's of tough people die every year from upper respiratory problems. And no matter how tough you are, you will soon enough be humbled and find out what t feels like to be older. I was the strongest natural man in most of the gyms I was in, but now my knees tell me I'm older, along with a hip and shoulder pain I never had ever. No matter what you do, father time finds you. Try listening to this classic Kansas tune and see what I mean........... .
  11. Yes, sometimes 2 will gang up on one and I've seen it a few times, but they aren't kicking them on the ground and in the head. Gangs are different. They will trash someone from another gang and even kill but this is one man. No matter what he did, you don't need 10 against 1 unless you are a group of undisciplined cowards. This is a Thai thing unless someone else here can say otherwise.
  12. Never being taught respect for life as a child. Absent or abusive parent(s), and a following of like minded peers. Cowards need numbers, and the only way to stop this is jail for a long time. 10 against 1 is more than the usual, but someone kicking is a boy who doesn't know how to fight and needs friends to back them up because they would be flattened if it was one on one.
  13. No expat is licking any Thai boots here besides those who act like Brown Nosers, thinking that will bring them favor. Why are you bothering being in a Thai forum if you live back in Canada? To gloat for some reason? Some of us are going to leave Thailand soon enough, and would not return to the forum as it doesn't concern them Some will stay because they like it here and are satisfied with the country. Every country has it's share of problems, some more than others, and to each their own. Canada is a beautiful place I'd like to return to for hunting and fishing, but being cold half the year isn't fun. Now that you're back, you have a chance to be an old fart in Canada on one of their forums, so you can relate. We are all just prisoners here of our own device.
  14. "I remember in the in Australia a toddler running away down towards the busy road , a elderly woman sees me she shouts stop the baby ! I shout no way I don't want to get involved ! " You actually said this, and did nothing? Says a lot about your character.
  15. You can do the best job possible and your child will go into the world surrounded by protection and love, but once they have peers, they can be led astray, into danger, or used by others who were raised to be predators. This country already looks at women as inferior, as does a few others, and that thinking has them being targets for any piece of garbage that comes along, disguised in a cute face and slim body, and lines of BS.
  16. It's the hardest thing to find in anyone's life. A good partner is a blessing to your well being , hers, and of any children born. A bad woman is a curse on society and half of the reasons the world has so many problems now. My ex is a real problem because her mother had 11 children and didn't have the capability or desire to love them properly, one after another so the next in line gets more attention than the previous ones, which leads to them growing up mostly by themselves, looking elsewhere for attention and gui8dance, which usually comes at a price. This is where narcissism is created. You grow up without attention , and or abuse and neglect, and maybe the opposite, a golden child that's spoiled, you create a society monster, who takes out the anger on the rest of the world.
  17. That all comes with maturity or the lack thereof. The world's population is twice as much as it would be if children didn't have children with children, and waited until they were more mature so they could properly take care of the children being created instead of pawning them off with grandma, who could be totally incompetent to take care of a youngster. Being a father means you teach your children so they grow up with a brain capable of taking care of themselves and possibly others, and that starts watching your parents while you're growing up in their household. Thai teens lack maturity and are far behind those of equal age in the west because the west cares more for their offspring. They have them driving scooters at age 8 and doing farm work early, which some might think is showing them how to grow up faster, the opposite of what should happen.
  18. That's why they need better enforcement here. And less corruption. If you fine the poor, you take away their neded money, they learn a hard lesson so they might not break the laws again, and maybe save their lives.
  19. https://thailand.prd.go.th/en/content/category/detail/id/52/iid/326520
  20. Helmets should be worn everywhere. The US has laws in 20 states where you have to wear them. Thailand has it everywhere, yet the laws aren't enforced but in large cities, and the most deaths here happen because of people not wearing helmets on motorbikes, which far outnumber the amount of motorbikes in a much larger country. All fines should go towards whatever the needs for money are, the court system and helping the poor being two.
  21. Because they affect someone sometime.
  22. Do not drive drunk. You said earlier you can do this here but back home you couldn't get away with it, meaning Thailand has more freedom because of this but the daily deaths and accidents show someone isn't following the laws on the books. The US has many accidents but most involve phone use and drunk driving. You can get caught driving drunk here and might only get a slap on the wrist, whereas back in the US, you get a fine, loss of driving privileges, and sometimes jail, even on the first offense, and it also goes on your record in a national computer database which is easily checked, and subsequent offenses are harsher. Here, you can get caught in every province and they might never know if you ever did, so it would look like a first offense to them.
  23. The want for more protection of it's people maybe? The position it has in the world trade market , dealing with all countries worldwide and the need to ensure America isn't targeted by outsiders wanting to hurt it's people or resources.
  24. I never said we didn't need 5000 laws. I said we need laws, and you said we didn't. Most laws would never affect me so I wouldn't dare to make an opinion on them. You also said 50 laws are enough. What are those? At least tell us one law that's there you know of that's unnecessary.
  25. Your opinion doesn't mean anything, as these laws are passed whether you like it or not. You stated we don't need 5000 laws. All I asked is for you to tell us which laws you deem unnecessary. If you don't care, then you shouldn't make such a statement because any argument needs backing. You said the US has much less freedom than Thailand, which is a falsehood. This is a suppressed country.
