got a TP for a friend from AQ. in.th mid april, no PCR test and used FWD 30 day covid insurance. the 30 days started from entry date as per FWD site which states policy start date be same as date of entry. 14 days waiting period of no concern to friend, just wanted to get TP and stamped into thailand which is what happened - no problems with airports, airlines or anyone/anything else.

I am from the UK - I believe the eVisa fee for 60 days single entry is UKP 30......about 1300 Baht
Is that correct?
yes that is my understanding

Is that the cost of an online tourist visa? ie 1500 Baht each time?
no evisa available in oz - grrr!
TR60 app'n at thai consulate has AUD60 fee (close to 1500B)

I am checking with my visa agent for costs of tourist visa extensions.
yeah we all have different situations.
for single me 3 TR60's per year= 2 month in 2 month out (4500B per year depend on exchange rate).
no extensions, minimal hassle.

i will let them reply in their own time if they choose
am curious myself as to the answer to your questions.
eg 3 per year with extensions - possible 9 months = 3 months in 1 month out
of course the infamous inconsistent IO interpretations can be a problem.

Can any visa experts confirm this?
on this forum ubon joe and dr jack 54 are very knowledgeable.
they may even respond to your post - if not PM one of them.

What is VE and TR60?
IO? TM30?
I thought there was a limit on the number of Tourist Visas/months you could do in one year??
VE - visa exempt
TR60 - 60 day tourist visa
IO = immigration office/officer
TM30 = notification of address
i am unsure as to the legislation re maximum number of tourist visas per year.
i didn't do more then 3 per year but one year i did add an extension to give me total 7 months .
i did ask the perth thai consulate in australia some years ago and the bossman said he was not aware of any limit.
i would think that continual back to backs would be "scrutinised" as being non tourist.
but i wonder why not 4 per year - eg 2 months in and 1 month out?

Will probably visit Pattaya 3-4 times a year going forward
i did that for 15 years pre covid and am about to re-commence.
used VE and/or TR60.
no agent required very straightforward eg TR60 x 3-4 = 6-8 months (no IO/TM30 when no ext).

As you may have read from a previous post, the prostate is not my problem, it's just that the bladder has ceased to function.
I bought a bottle of Swanson Stinging Nettle Root capsules, and have hardly used any, so you are more than welcome to have my bottle, and as you are a fellow sufferer, if you want to send me a postal address via PM, then I will post you it free of charge!
yeah, thanks will not go to waste.
i'm back in pattaya 12/3 so will pm you my condo address.
if your still in bangkok come on down for a visit
am interested in ozimoron's dosage as the swanson label recommends 500mg per day but if a larger dosage works better i will do same.

One day without it and I have difficulty urinating. Two a day and all is good.
i've just finished with beta sitosterol with no noticeable BPH benefit.
am now onto my next trial - swanson stinging nettle root one 500 mg capsule per day.
you mention two a day..........are they 500mg capsules?

30 visa exempt + 60 day extension to visit wife.
how many times a year can this VE 60 day extension be granted.
have just read a 2013 post by UJ on this visit wife ext suggesting only once.
maybe now changed....... also quite a long thread re my TIT attention span issues.

They all will work fine.
not sure about option 3.
i didn't think visa exempt could be extended more then 30 days (notwithstanding the temporary 60 day covid extension).
TR60 + 30 day extension could be an option 4 ?

will lay low until the required antigen test
good luck - my turn 12 march albeit 1 night booking and then my condo (should be covid free after being empty for 2 years) .

Am arriving visa exempt and will do 5 days test and go before moving to my condo.
i'm wondering why 5 days T&G.
i thought only 1 night T&G booking is required.
can go to your condo as soon as you receive a negative pcr result.

If I have to stay a day in an approved hotel, does it have to be in Bangkok? Is there one or more in Pattaya or at least one close to the airport?
SHA++ hotels are in all three areas mentioned, take your pick.
Check out aq.in.th website for others and further relevant info re the current required thailand pass.

I had more this in mind (pic).
yeah i like.
present table and chairs.....hehe.
i just purchased online SIA ticket PER to BKK ($675) 12/3 - 10/4.
will then be my turn to redesign condo as i want to sell.
its a 51.5 sqm studio, surprisingly i have more options then first thought.
but my procrastination and cheap charlie inclinations always lurking.
don't forget photos on completion, maybe will help with my endeavours

One is to keep same position as in first picture.
my "sense" of aesthetics is that the present fridge position is not ideal as it crowds the area and in particular the kitchen drawers.
perceptions will always vary.....post photos when completed.
i promise no more 2 cents worth.

Has anyone used timber slab planks for kitchen bench top.
also interested for option at my condo.
i have another idea your kitchen ..............maybe fridge swap places with that cupboard/shelf unit next to TV cabinet and then have a flash bench top in place of the divider (would be better if fridge was white).
my KISS style again.

14 minutes ago, DrJack54 said:
The hold back on putting fridge where you suggest is that there is no bench area in existing bench with the silly big sink.
Have also considered bench coming off from that wall section if fridge not there.
no bench area may not be really important as most people eat/buy out.
the suggested shelves can hold some cooking appliances etc and micro on top of fridge.
dividers may be relocated against other walls.
i agree with your no buy sentiment - 2014 i was warned not to but went ahead and bought my condo thinking i would retire in LOS and have the life of riley.
spent too much refurbishing it and then have centrelink cut my disability pension to 4 weeks per year if outside of oz (been on age pension since 2016).
of course the condo been vacant the last 2 years while i'm stuck in oz.
did get lucky 2015 and had a renter for 39 months while i rented around myself in the 6 months per year when in pattaya.
now not getting any renters or buyers....condo looks like being part of my deceased estate (haha)

As for the kitchen the hob will be replaced with a glass one.
The splashback which is a porcelain beige colour can be tiled over with glass etc
my 2 cents worth (i'm also soon to change my pattaya condo layout to make more saleable).
i like openness and would rid the room of those 2 dividers, put neat shelving in that fridge recess area, put fridge where the kitchen divider was, replace ceiling light fittings with insert downlights and paint over the red walls with a passive light colour eg powder grey, cream.
being a rental i would keep costs well down on whats been suggested and apply the KISS strategy.

both the FWD policy purchase and TP approval via AQ.in.th were within 3 or 4 days of entry and the policy start date - apparently had valid active insurance on entry despite the 14 day waiting period bizo.
to muddy the waters a bit more, my friend was on an emergency 14 day visit and thus not covered by FWD cos of the waiting period.
still got the TP QR Code flew, entered and left without question.
Make what you will, i have nothing more to add.
TP.......TIT.
