Not an uncommon event.
That's what I initially thought as well, but reading the article, a witness said he was having problems with his car and revving the engine for about 3-minute before he launched his car.
Perhaps it's time for this gent to surrender his drivers license and go with public transport.

Hmm, if brake fluid somehow finds its way onto the car body, it will strip the paint down to bare metal or plastic in as little as 10-minutes...
That'd be terrible if it happened to these cars!

I don't know Singapore enough to know the area that he was in, but a jail sentence seems a little harsh,
I'm glad you don't run Singapore, because you'd turn it into another Thailand.
The issue here is that someone tried to bribe 2 Singaporean law officers. It doesn't matter what initial contact was for.
He could have gotten years.

The best thing would be to turn Ma over to the Chinese.
While China turns a blind eye to most crimes their citizens commit overseas, these call centers target China and the CCP is very sensitive to their citizens having their life savings stolen.
If Ma gets turned over to China, he will live the remainder of his life in a hard labor camp, whereas he would be able to buy a comfortable prison life in Thailand.

DOPE !!! 😂
Six customers for spending a 1000bht , big spenders there .
Always amazes me these sellers put bag after bag on the counter to show people and don't think to maybe just show them 1 or 2 at a time . Not to mention the seller has probably been testing it in the shop so is stoned and not paying attention.
Sure, blame the victim for providing good customer service at his business.
If they were suspicious of everyone and only brought out one item at a time to examine, you'd probably complain that they hated Farang.
Sounds like those Aussies came in with a plan to distract, steal, and pass-off to another.

I really don't get it.
Why hazard smuggling weed by the kilo from Thailand to UK, when they could simply truck a ton of it over (or under) from Holland? The Dutch know how to grow high THC weed as well.
Not that there aren't grow houses well established in the UK.
Can someone please explain why ? Seriously.

This guy managed to blow through 43,000 baht overnight before they found him.
I wonder if the Tourism Bureau will count him as another "rich" Indian visitor.

The Yanks have been at it in Pattaya for decades that's why when the Fleet comes in they are banned from taking shore leave. Thank God. I remember when I wasn't that way and fights were breaking out all.over town!
Where do you get your news?
WHY would ships enter port if there was no shore leave? How would that work?
Rather than your silly belief, Pattaya looks on US visits as significant boosts to the local economy.
Last year when the US Fleet visited Pats, 6,000 sailors were granted shore leave. Didn't tear up the city.

I remember visiting Pnom Penh many years ago and hundreds of VN hookers had moved in the years following Wun Sen's takeover at the head of a VN army.
I remember. 25 years ago, Phnom Penh bargirls and hookers were all Vietnamese.

forcibly making a 29-year-old man swallow a bullet as part of a brutal tactic to collect a gambling debt.
Eating a bullet depending at its size is not really bad if they are from a normal handgun like a 357/ .38. / 9mm it'll pass trough the body no problem.
Was thinking the same and wondering why the bullet has been so sensationalized. I'd ingest a handfull of bullets vs being beaten with baseball bats and metal rods.
A 9mm would likely be FMJ or fully jacketed in brass. There wouldn't even be a risk of lead ingestion.

What.
Supposedly, hydro grown weed produces higher THC content. I don't smoke weed, but I've lived in N. California long-enough to hear the "talk". If you know different, then I defer to your experience.

What lab equipment I don't see anything but boxes of flower.
Those burnt boxes and the big tank on the right looks like a hydroponics set-up. No soil, less water, and higher THC %. But I don't see any burnt plants, so it is either just starting out, or they just harvested.
It'd need a lot of power to run, so I have no doubt something overheated, or wires got crossed somewhere.

10% off the top for someone?
You are thinking like a Westerner, only skim a bit so it doesn't get noticed.
In corrupt countries, the "skim" can be anywhere from 30%-50%, even 100% if there are no auditing processes in place.

Contrastively, cities like San Francisco, Dublin, Seoul, Budapest, and Edinburgh are reported to have the lowest levels of tourist fraud, offering travellers a relatively safer experience.
Oh yes, in San Francisco the businesses are definitely legit, but getting robbed at gunpoint while shopping isn't all that fun, and then you discover that your rental car has been stolen, but worse of all, you step in human faeces while walking back to your hotel.

So he rode straight into the back of truck ?
Not back but the side, from the looks of it.
Probably misjudged distances by inches and got his wheel or handlebar caught in a tire and that was that.
No way the truck driver could have done anything to prevent this.

My thoughts exactly.
It looks like they've decided to slap "AI" in front of everything to sound like they're up to date, but behind the curtains, it's just the same rodents running on their hamster wheels.

Huh?
The French guy was the one stabbed.
It was an English guy that presumably committed the stabbing, and he left Thailand the same day.

Once upon a time foreigners in Thailand, while enjoying the nightlife, were mostly well educated and well behaved.
You mean during the Vietnam War and the fall of Laos & Cambodia? Sure!
Just GIs coming straight from combat into Bangkok for 2-weeks of R&R "to blow off steam" before going straight back into combat.
Nobody ever got into fights back then, never!
