Apps like that are all well and good until months later you get some weird Windows / App issue that you can't fix and it turns out it's because you used an app to "customise" Windows ages ago...

Why don't you contact Windows/ Microsoft help, Google them. They are more knowledgeable than people on this forum.

That's setting the bar pretty low but even then I think dealing with Microsoft will be even more painful than here ????

Showing an interest in anti-virus suggests a desire to keep the PC secure.
With this in mind, running an OS (Windows 7) that has not received updates / is out of support for over 2 years is a thoroughly bad idea.
The only realistic solution is to update to a newer Windows. 11 would be logical as it is the newest but 10 would also be suitable.

Is it connected directly to the router or is something else in between?
In the interest of helping with the original problem and now we have narrowed it down, it would be good to get an answer to this. If indeed it is connected directly to the router, which router is it?
-
In fact, I just noticed that it is listed as Realtek PCle GbE family Controller - GbE means Gigabit Ethernet so it should be capable of 1000Mbps.
Is it connected directly to the router or is something else in between?

Looks like that's the issue then! You could google the model number of your device to ensure it is indeed the port, there's a slim chance it could be the cable (worth swapping if you have a spare one to test with).
The easiest way to solve it would be to buy a USB gigabit ethernet adapter, Lazada, Shopee will have loads and they'll be inexpensive. Good luck!

The only correct answer.

Why the heck would you go from SSD to HDD, RAID or not?
What's the goal here?

If the laptop is pretty old it could have a 100Mbps ethernet port maybe? Check the link speed in network properties.

Come on OP, don't leave us hanging!
Why did you want the disc?-

OP - glad you made the (correct) decision to re-format, it was definitely too far gone.
Have you considered mobile banking going forward? It's pretty convenient and once set up you probably won't need to remember passwords etc., you can use fingerprint or PIN authentication. Also, I would suggest using a password manager to help remember banking details etc. Bitwarden is a decent free one. -

Confusingly, the answer is both. That computer probably uses the built in GPU in the CPU. It's not really good enough for gaming and doesn't support a monitor beyond FHD. Monitors these days are typically QHD at least. You will want to add a separate GPU (GeForce) at some point. It will slot into the pcie slot which most mainboards have. Then the CPU will automatically notice the external GPU and use it instead of the inbuilt GPU.
Yeah, that's not right. Almost any integrated graphics can handle 4K resolutions easily, even on multiple monitors, for desktop usage (not gaming though).
Also disagree about monitors, I bet if you walk into any standard office the vast majority will still be using HD monitors and no more. Same for home users too, unless they're "enthusiasts".
OP, sounds like you made a bad choice, talking about immediately upgrading the PC as soon as you bought it. You should have paid more and chosen one with more suitable components.

I think this thread proves that ASEAN Now is a terrible place to ask for IT advice ????

Don't even consider one with HDD instead of SSD, absolutely no point in doing that in 2022.
I also wouldn't recommend 4GB of RAM these days.
That leaves the other two, which will work, although if bumping up the budget to 20,000 then I think it would make sense because these are still pretty low-end.

You won't notice a difference, no.

Which datacenter you use? I have servers in OVH SG-1 and SG-2 and get 150-170 ms to servers in London (Netconnex/Thinkbroadband). And 60-80ms from Thailand (mobile network) to Singapore, so 210-250 ms total.
Still faster than the direct connection though ???? If I ping London directly from Thailand I get 240-300 ms.
That's interesting, if I ping my home router in UK (not London) from here in BKK I get 201 - 203ms right now. But sometimes it is around 300ms, I am not sure why. I guess it depends on some ISP routing.
There is fibre-to-the-premises on both sides, which might help a bit.

Can you tell us the name of the app / website you will actually be using? All these ideas are just based on various assumptions. You won't be using a leased line, I am sure of that.
I am no trader but I can't imagine latency of 200 - 300ms (which is what I typically see between here and UK) will make any significant difference. We're talking well under half a second here. Surely it's not that time critical?
-
How exactly are you going to be receiving this data from London? Knowing that might help understand what might be the best solution (if one is indeed required, which I doubt).
-
Depends on the kind of content and where your audience is located.
-
As usual, the answer is: "it depends".
The answer for you is probably: not a lot, unless you're getting serious views.

I use an Intel NUC PC with a Celeron CPU as my media centre. A bit more expensive but works perfectly with Express VPN installed, networked to my main PC where all my movies/music are stored on One Drive. And it is a full Windows 11 PC.
Windows is great for flexibility but terrible as a "Couch OS" though. Correct me if I'm wrong but you have to use keyboard and mouse.

Alternative approach - go on Fiverr, post a "request" explaining in detail what you are trying to do, a few people will come back to you with quotes.

Yes, absolutely possible to have a website at a later date.
Domain registration, email and web hosting are all separate services although you can get them through the same company if you wish.
ionos might be good for you - maybe check them out?

If you don't care about privacy (that any staff member will be able to read your emails) then you could just host your domain on Google / gmail.com or any other email service, for free. You will need to pay for the domain name only - approx $10/year.
If you want some privacy then you will have to rent a dedicated server, and this will cost not less than $300/year, plus setup service (from few hundreds to few thousands).
Renting your own server does not guarantee privacy, similarly, using a commercial service does not necessarily mean it is not private.
The fact that OP is asking how to have an email on his own domain suggests that renting a dedicated server is not likely to be a suitable solution.I think some domain registrars offer email for "free" (e.g. Ionos) or at least at a low cost when you register with them.
Do you have any preference on which app or web interface you use to access the email or is it not important?

err, so it does change things then.
Anyway, I'm glad it works for you and it seems to be from a legit German company which is always good. But even with the best intentions, with an app like this all it takes is for Microsoft to make a change behind the scenes and you could have some unpredictable results.
