I think it must be a VPN app or some browser extension on your PC, that's the only thing that makes sense here.
Can't explain the TV though. As mentioned, testing on a phone at the same time as the issues occur would definitely help.
-
OK, PC not laptop.
No idea what's going on with your setup. Can't think of any possible reason that your TV box would disconnect its wifi signal when this issue happens on your PC.
Testing on wifi via a phone / tablet or just another device would be very useful to know. Can't you connect your phone to wifi to test? -
To answer your original question without the pointless bickering, no I wouldn't go near those deals. You will be a named user on somebody else's account and it could disappear at any time. Certainly wouldn't trust it with any important data.
If you want to use cloud storage, do it properly and pay for the service. As mentioned, Microsoft 365 family is pretty good value.

What happens when you try the same thing on your phone or tablet when connected to wifi? Everything about this from what I can see points to it being something on your laptop.
You are lucky AIS are so lenient, in the UK they would (rightly, I think in this case) be very reluctant to send an engineer and you'd be charged something like £120 for each visit that turned out to be a local (i.e. not an ISP) issue.

You will not need to do a 90 day report until 90 days after your apply for the one year extension of stay.
A new TM30 report will be required before you apply for the extension since you entered on a new visa.
Thank you. So new TM30 = another one in addition to the one I assume the hotel did for me? i.e. I have to get my wife to do one?
-
Background:
Arrived earlier this month on CoE with single entry Non-O (Thai wife) e-visa approved by London Consulate.
Completed 1 night quarantine at hotel, passed PCR test and since then living with wife in BKK.
Assuming the hotel submitted a TM30 for me, does my wife now have to do this again or can it just wait until I do the 90 day report? I also plan to extend for 12 months, if that is relevant.
Thanks.

This is a copy of my booking confirmation I received immediately after booking via Agoda. This is from a hotel after you screened the "quarantine hotels" only selection. If we look at my highlights, is this type of confirmation sufficient for TP or should I get another one? I purchased this 3 days ago and haven't heard from the hotel in any way.
Might be too late but I submitted this for my Certificate of Entry application and it wasn't enough, they need an extra letter that the hotel send you after booking so I assume it will be the same for Thailand Pass.
Also, my email from the hotel was in junk mail (of course) so might be worth checking there.

I arrived in BKK last week on CoE and completed one night quarantine before checking out after test results were negative as expected.
The hotel gave me a Covid test kit to do on day 5 (I think he said) but no indication on what you are supposed to do with it - does anyone know? It's an antigen / rapid test.

You will need the standard 40k baht out patient and 400k baht in patient insurance coverage valid for 90 days.
And the $50k corvid 19 insurance valid for 90 days.
Thanks. Correction to this: I believe it is 50k USD Covid-19 insurance.

If entering on a non-o visa issued by a embassy you will need 90 days of insurance.
If actually on a extension of stay issued by immigration it would need be valid to the day your re-entry permit expires.
Thanks, it’s an e-visa from London Consulate. Any idea on the level of coverage required?
-
I'm arriving in BKK this Friday, 5 November. I have the pre-approved CoE, now I need to do the 2nd stage.
Can anyone clarify the insurance requirements now? I heard that it matched the Thailand Pass rather than the original CoE requirements.
I'll be entering on Non-O visa (Thai spouse) if that's relevant.
Thanks.

My first choice would to be like others said and only bring the essential parts (HDD/SSD, Ram, MB, CPU, GPU) with you, bubbled wrapped and boxed, and you can buy and build the rest. Hopefully customs won't give you a problem.
The 2nd option is learn about desktop remote access and set up your desktop with with programs like: Anydesk or Google's Chrome Remote Desktop or TeamViewer or VNC Viewer, leave your desktop at home and bring a laptop with you, then access your desktop from the laptop overseas.
If you have Windows 10 Pro;
Latency from Thailand > Europe makes any kind of Remote Desktop a fairly unpleasant experience.

Sell or leave the bulky parts, take the GPU, RAM, CPU and maybe motherboard (if it fits) with you and buy anything else you need here?

Sorry but the only real solution here is to update to Windows 10. Ask your trusted computer shop to do that rather than waste time and money trying to fix this problem.

Does anyone know what documents you have to send to the London Consulate for a non-O visa (Thai spouse) once the application has been completed online (with supporting documents attached electronically)? Is it just passport? I could not see clear guidance on this.

I submitted my non-O (Thai spouse) application a few days ago but haven’t posted my passport to the consulate yet.
I’d rather use the e-visa system if possible - I wonder if I could just re-apply when the new system goes live on the 26 September?

I always buy I multi when I extend so that is not an issue. Under normal circumstances I leave Thailand every Songkran and keep an eye open for other travel opportunities. However, this trip would just be a UK two week trip for a rapid vaccine turn around. But even reduced to this simple framework it seems fraught. Basically once I am in the UK and ready to return here how do I get out? I think expensive adaptable business class tickets would be useful. Being prepared to enter via a European stop over that does not or will not classify Thailand as red is useful to avoid hotel quarantine in UK...
How are you planning on getting vaccinated in the UK in 2 weeks?
Also, if Thailand goes to red then you'd have to stop over in a non-red country for 10 days in order to avoid hotel quarantine.

It's not a visa even if it is called such, but an extension of the original visa year by year on grounds of retirement or marriage giving you permission to stay for another year. If you are abroad when the extension runs out you have to start all over again with a new non imm o etc. My non imm O visa ran out in 2006, I no longer have a visa I have an extension.
With this being the case, if I returned to BKK on a visa exemption, would I have to leave the country again to apply for the fresh non-imm O visa or can I apply while in-country?

As this thread is similarly themed I'll ask this here. I'm flying back to the UK at the end of the month with KLM. I'm just sorting all my tests for the return home. After checking on the KLM website and on gov.uk I can see that both specify that a rapid antigen test is acceptable for the test needed 72 hours before the flight. However when googling places to get the test I came across th MedConsult Clinic in Sukhumvit, they offer a rapid antigen test but they specify in the description it can't be used for international travel. I tried calling to confirm but the are not answering. What's everyone else in this thread doing as far as the 72 hour test? Will you be doing a PCR just to be safe or save some money with the Antigen test? I obviously don't want to pay twice as much for a test if it's not necessary.
I was also a bit confused by that. Ended up doing the PCR anyway to be safe (at MedConsult aswell).

I assume you have a extension of stay based upon marriage (is not a visa).
You could get a single entry non-o visa from the embassy in London or enter visa exempt and then apply for a 90 day non-o visa entry at immigration.
The non-o visa application requires about all the same supporting documents as the extension and you have to make 2 trips to immigration to get it.
If it was me I would probably apply for the non-o visa at the embassy.
I’ve been revisiting this. Why do you assume what I have isn’t a visa? Not challenging you, just trying to have a better understanding.
I last renewed in September last year at Chaengwattana. Since then I have had to do the 90 day reporting etc.
in my passport I have a re-entry permit (multiple entry) which expires in September. It mentions the category as Non-Imm. I also have various stamps mentioning Thai wife which I think are from the 90 day reporting. One of them has a date in September this year too.
In my head what I have is a non-immigrant type O visa - is this not the case and does it change my original predicament?
Thanks

Would anyone who has recently flied from BKK > Europe be so kind as to comment on how full the flight has been? Particularly interested in KLM.

Me too .
What is your plan of action ?
Mine is to buy a flight ticket one week before hand .
Take a covid test three days before and then buy the two UK tests and then fly to the UK and do quarantine at home
Decided to fly this weekend. That way, even if UK does go on the red list later this week, it should be still within a “grace period”.
Need to sort out the tests now.

For now. If Thailand goes onto the UK red list, which is entirely possible the way things are going, then it would mean testing before travel and booking managed quarantine in a hotel for 10 days that comes with (I think) about a £1700 cost.
The UK reviews the red/amber/green list countries every 3 weeks and the next review is due on about the 15th July.
I am on the verge of booking too and this is the concern for me at the moment.
wifi antenna or extender?

Laptops normally have pretty good internal antennae. Unlikely that a USB adapter like that will improve it, especially at that price.
As mentioned, moving or upgrading your wireless router might be a better option. Or some kind of mesh setup.
