  1. 10 Billion Baht .. that is roughly 290 million USD. Then the negotiation and adjustment follow and change to X amount. Big deal for Toyota ? I don't think so. The locals whether public or private sectors always enjoy certain advantage. Toyota is not so novice thinking other places are different.
  2. Like many others, I plan to leave Thailand and re-enter just days later to abandon O-A Visa and return using Visa Exempt and subsequently get the O-Visa within Thailand. Not yet decide to do land trip or flight in-out. But I will go through this process in a month or two. My question is currently I have document from a Thai hospital having had Covid-related injection 3 times, do I need to get Covid Passport/Covid Certificate before leaving Thailand ?
  3. Both Pattaya and Jomtien are fine.
  4. Hotel pool for non-resident is not that cheap. Paid 200 B in a 3.5* Hotel for using a long and narrow roof top ( very cold water ) great for lap swimming in Soi 4 area few years back. Also had swam in 4* Siam-By-Design/Siam-At-Siam roof top photo-perfect pool years ago, the deal there was buying 500 B food/drink voucher. In the condo pool, swam in View-Talay Six ( just beside Central-Hilton ) as a condo-rental guest almost 10 years ago. It is of course a very old building and pool maintenance may be iffy. The pool in View Talay Six is not too good or too bad for lap swim. However, you may be able to wander in as security is very lax in that building. The pool is on ground level next to the high-rise. Best pool I have swam in Pattaya is The Base Condo ( soi 12 ). Very big and exceptional view roof top pool. Stayed there for few nights 4 years ago. Recalled that one needs key card to use the elevator to get up. On Soi two Sabai Lodge, stayed and swam there too. Pool is a bit small for lap swim. ;
  5. The title " Who would Thailand have to deal with if Putin falls ill ? " It mentioned Thailand... Putin.... falls ill. Simply who the ---- wrote such title and article ? Mikhail Gorbachev had fallen ill and subsequently passed away in late Aug 2022. The writer of this article might be so outdated and confused about Gorbachev and Putin.
  6. She goes, or she does not go. Either way, no war. If she goes, the situation will be nasty, still no war. The person in question ( much disliked by Americans and worldwide ) is not of such importance for 'make or break' that Biden and USA military and USA public will go to war for her sake.
  7. Yes and No to some of your points or generalizations. India dislikes China ; China dislikes India China hates Japan ; Japan hates China. N Korea hates Japan ; Japan hates N Korea. S Korea hates Japan. As to how Japanese see S Koreans, I am not sure. Need to dig deeper to understand. I don't see how "Vietnam might split again". Such interpretation from the left field goes beyond me. ( Have you been to both Hanoi and HCM City ? ) Thailand is neutral. Usually current Thailand PM Prayut gives no hints of his thinking from his body language and facial expression, as this is also his way in dealing with USA and China affairs. However, PM Prayut indeed has his preference deep down.
  8. Agree. Sensible and good commentary, knowledge, insight about Football games are what I care whether the source was from America, Mexico, Canada, South Pole or wherever.
  9. CNN reported on June 26, 2022 “ Europe and the US’ plan to file pain on Putin hasn’t worked. “ “ The West wants to go further on Russian oil. Inflation is making that difficult. ” “ Russia keeps cashing in. ” I focus on data, facts and reality only and not bother with off-focus, irrelevant subject. People perpetually choose denial and believe in whatever, up to them.
  10. The war started on Feb 24, 2022. It has been exactly four months into this war and an update on the exchange rate and interest rate is as follows US$ Vs RUB Rubles Jan 2022 1 : 75 Early March 2022 1 : 136 April 30, 2022 1 : 73 June 15, 2022 1 : 59 Today June 24, 2022 1 : 55 Euro Vs RUB Rubles Jan 2022 1 : 86 Early March 2022 1 : 150 April 30, 2022 1 : 77 June 15, 2022 1 : 62 Today June 24, 2022 1 : 58 Russia interest rate Before the war : 9.5% Feb 28, 2022 : raised to 20% April 8, 2022 : dropped to 17% April 30, 2022 : dropped to 14% May 26, 2022 : dropped to 11 % June 10, 2022 : dropped to 9.5% Today June 24, 2022 9.5% There had been up and down, however the trend was not going in the way USA Biden projected and predicted in public months ago.
  11. For those not familiar with HK geography, British got the Hong Kong Island and Kowloon as Colony and had a 99-year Lease of the land named New Territories from 1889-1997. British Government under PM Hayes and PM Margaret T had evaluated the scenario of returning just New Territories to China in 1997 ( not returning Hong Kong Island and Kowloon to China in 1997 ), but the British Government had decided this scenario was just not viable and dropped the idea completely. This specifics was all British Government decision, no body forced them making such decision at all. So what is your point raising it ?
  12. " Taiwan is weii-armed, some say more than very well-armed" Let me paraphrase and stress on this point. Taiwan is more than very well-spent on arming the force. It is the American military industries including Austin personally are laughing to the bank. Taiwan soldiers and government do not even have the will to fight in the case of military battle. d
