Thank goodness you were not using the shower at the time!

Shower has never ever been used, so it is surely not about moving the door recently and putting some pressure on it

Interesting video to see it happens everywhere in the world, though I had hoped that would have given an explanation for it.

But more likely, the house has shifted a tad over time and inward pressure was applied to the frame of the glass. Something had to give.

Did you notice from the pictures that there is free space above the frame, so the house may have shifted in the 10 years it was build, but I guess that would not affect this shower cabin.

Even if that was the case I guess one of the fixed panels would explode, and not an open door which has rollers on top and bottom, so the frame can move without applying pressure on the door

I've just seen on Facebook something that cannot be shared, the Police/Army have gone mob handed into a school and dragged a load out..... Looks as though the game's on ......  Censored off Facebook already....

Just seen the video myself, in the description in Thai it explains that it is an old clip where 14 students were taken to court, and one ended up in hospital as he was trampled by police/army who acted on orders of NCPO.

It also explains that the situation is still going on as of today

  4. Adjoining my office I have that bathroom that never has been used.

It has a shower cabin with sliding doors, which were functioning normal last time I checked, and are left open all the time.

Just a few minutes ago I hear an explosion as if the house is falling down.

The bathroom door is open and when I look inside I see what is in the pictures. One of the sliding doors has exploded, and with exploded I mean that the roller gliders are laying at the other side of the bathroom.

I walk into the bathroom and hear noises as if water is dripping, though I check the tabs and there is no water, but the noises continue.

When I move closer to the ground I notice that the noise comes from the glass on the ground which is still " exploding ".

I see the clusters of glass moving, and this is still ongoing as I'm writing this post.

As you can see from the picture, there can not have been any pressure applied to the cabin frame, doors were open and nothing leaning to the glass either.

How something like this can spontaneous happen?

Thanks, but the owner here is a company, not a foreign individual.

But the company is wholly owned by the foreigner

    https://blog.listglobally.com/different-ways-foreigners-can-own-property-in-thailland/

    The Board of Investment (BOI)

Any foreigner wishing to promote a business or invest in Thailand may be granted specific privileges, like the permission to own land.

The Investment Promotion Act grant sincentives to the business, not the individual, but under the BOI scheme a foreigner may control their Thai business, something which can not be done with a conventional Thai Company Ltd. And if they control the company, it means they also have control over any land owned by the company.

Any foreigner who is in a position to utilise the BOI scheme is also afforded legal control of a Thai property.

    https://www.siam-legal.com/realestate/thailand-property-foreigner.php

    Board of Investment (BOI)

A foreigner, who invests in a minimum of at least one million Baht in Thailand for no minimum prescribed period of time, is entitled to buy up to 20 Rai of land for residential purposes for employees. However only 10 Rai for executives and directors of the Company. However, it must be noted that although it may be permissible to own up to 10 or 20 Rai, this depends on how large or small your company is and the activities involved, which will then be ultimately up to the discretion of the Board of Investment. This land brought also has to be located in the same area where the Company is located. The Board of Investment may also grant privileges to the applying company permission to own land if it will be used for an activity promoted by Board of Investment, however this must not exceed 5 rai and must be owned by a foreign company and also deal with the activity requested of. Yes,  this is a Thai condo law and not something that the condo association decided on.  No condo project can be owned by more than 49% farang. When you try to sell or transfer any condo the land office will require documents that confirm the 51/49% Thai ratio.  Nothing new here.

Not quite true, they confirm at least 51% Thai i imagine

No they don't. They confirm 49% foreigner maximum.

There is no minimum or maximum on the Thai quota, only a maximum on the foreign quota

No, thats not how it works 49% of the units will have a foreign freehold and if the 49% is sold out farang can still buy a unit but only on a 30 year contract, farangs dont need to wait until the Thai quota of 51% is sold

Looks like you want to open your mouth but have no idea what is coming out of it.

When foreign quota a foreigner can still buy Thai quota, they simply open a company and own it through that company, no need for a 30 year contract.

I know of one that was in Phuket to sell the others they had to greatly reduce the price, Thai quota

Thai quota is always priced lower than foreign quota, and they are sold to foreigners though company structure

The fact it is closing after 15 months or so would indicate other financial issues - probably connected with using $133,000,000 on a theme park nobody wants to use.

    Burnt investors, and unemployed staff.

More of the same to come.

Fact is that it's only temporarily, and it will reopen when the COVID-19 scare has ceased, unless half of the Chinese population dies off of course.

Why would they stay open when their target public ( Chinese group tours) are not allowed to travel?

could reopen someday if conditions improve sufficiently. If so, it said, the staff would be rehired.

More of the same re openings to come, regardless of how much the Thai bashers dislike that.

please tell me you are joking because your statement is astonishingly ignorant beyond silly. since you asked will share a pic of the current minister of health of colombia south america.

he is a medical doctor with 2 masters degrees in addition, one of which is in public health.

the united states equivalent of minister of health is "the surgeon general" none of which have not had medical-health care backgrounds

Did it take you long to find a country that has a health minister with a medical background?

There are 195 countries in the world, how about finding 5 others, and not from third world countries where degrees are bought.

Try for example some of the biggest and most advanced countries in the world like US - UK - Germany - France

And since you mention the US, here is the United States Secretary of Health and Human Services

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Azar

And no having worked for a pharmaceutical company doesn't count as a medical background

They sell to get cash for panic hoarding :cheesy:

You may be close to the truth.

Yesterday an article on Yahoo finance suggested that investors’ losses on equities had become so severe in the course of the week that they were being forced to sell their precious metal holdings to meet margin calls.

Another possibility is that China and india are the largest buyers of gold, but with the current economic crisis due to Covid-19 those purchases maybe scaled back, and I wouldn't be surprised that in those countries there are now more sellers than buyers to keep food on the table

  12. I did my yearly retirement extension at Jomtien the other day. I use the money in bank method.

When I picked up my passport no document was attached which would tell me I have to show funds still in bank in 90 days, neither was I told anything.

Does that mean this is no longer required?

That said, if it is still required to keep 800K for 90 days and 400K for the rest of the year, how would it be possible to change banks during the year?
