    I don't use a VPN.

The online scan pointed me to the location of the infected files, and it were all uninstall.exe.

I didn't reboot my PC after they were removed, so maybe that is why I still got the Captcha's even after the scan.

This morning I rebooted my PC and router, so I got a new IP, and so far I haven't got any captchas yet

I live in the deep south and have noticed that where I pay 220 baht for shipping, people in other regions pay like 200 baht less.

How do you know what people in other regions pay for shipping?

Maybe you can post a screenshot from a cheap item that shows a 220 Baht shipping cost.

You do not explain yourself very well. Ok then why not buy this lot and it will only cost you 54 Baht which includes delivery, why whinge about it because you will not be able to buy the item over the counter for that price here in Thailand and go in your own can to pick it up. Looking at this add this item comes from China which is always cheaper than Thailand.

Why you can't be bothered to read the OP and the following posts? Too eager to ridicule others with your ignorant and apologist comments

The OP contained a question. Anyone know where I can find that.

The shops I visited earlier, obviously were on my way from one location to another, so no extra costs were involved

Those at 207 baht for 5 pieces also come from China.

The cheaper lot I only found after scrolling through a few hundred listings on Lazada, and hours AFTER I posted my question.

    Is that OK for you?

In the meantime another member has pointed me to a place IN THAILAND where they are sold for 5 Baht, and which would cost me about 20 Baht in petrol with my moped, as it is approx 7 km from where I live, but actually it would cost nothing in travel expenses, since I pass there every other day.

it is not just the price of the item. 200 Baht for 5 pieces delivered to the front door to me is worth it.

Why would I pay 207 Baht + shipping for 5 of those cheap items, when the normal price is 32 Baht + shipping, for 10 pieces delivered to my doorstep?

  5. See what I mean, this is just by refreshing the page. Have got at least 20 of these captchas this evening, including on websites I visit several times a day.

After this verification I get 2 pages of images I have to select.

Anyone can tell me what is going on, or how to sort it?

I didn't get involved in your PC thread as mostly it's a waste of time trying to help people with their PC problems here.

After I cleaned the GPU contact, and switched SAT cable, SATA port and power link to the SSD earlier this evening, I haven't had any issues anymore, and I used the PC heavily since.

Before I could not use it for more than 30 minutes at most before it would freeze up.

Touch wood, will try Brave browser again tomorrow

If your Bootloader is already unlocked then you won't lose any data.

So have you tried using twrp to modify the HOSTS?

No I haven't, and in the link you provided there is no instruction on how to boot in TWRP, neither a link to the correct TWRP version.

As far as I'm aware TWRP can be booted from SD card, isn't it, but you need the correct TWRP file.

Side question, why today every <deleted> site, including those I visit daily, give me the Captcha where I have to click 2 pages of images?

I would hate going shopping with you for what you might class as a big ticket item......say a garden hose!

Who's talking about a garden hose? I'm sure you know the exact places where I can buy the exact item I need.

Why would I pay 207 Baht, or even 40 Baht, for something that cost less than 1 baht to produce?

the highest risk with "stablecoins" is that the offshore company owning the currency can disappear any moment or make press-release "sorry we don't have all those trillions USD we told you we had LOL goodbye".

take a look at this: https://twitter.com/search?q=minted at from%3Awhale_alert&src=typed_query&f=live

    - it means that someone must be "investing" billions of real USD to create these "stablecoins".

Or the offshore companies just print "stablecoins" out of nothing.

Naah, that would never happen, Bitcoin is just another high profitable and legal investment vehicle, and there are no crooks in this kind of business.

  10. Well it took some time to find them with the useless Lazada search engine, but it turned out that 207 Baht for 5 pieces was indeed a rip off, since you can get 10 pieces for 32 Baht.

Will have a look in the @piston broke suggested place first anyway.

  11. I have a MI A2 lite and want to root it, so that I can paste a hosts file, then unroot it again, because my banking app will not work on a rooted phone

Reason is because I recently get inundated by ads, not in the browser but in my default applications.

I open my file browser, and there will be a ticktock ad, if not a full screen video from Lazada or Shopee. Driving me crazy.

Don't want to connect phone to PC in the process, as I have issues with my PC, and don't want to end up with a brick.

When I do a Google for it, I get plenty results for how to root without PC or TWRP.

When I click the site, first line in the instructions is, connect your phone to your PC lol.

    So any suggestions are welcome

200 baht for 5 pieces, 40 baht each, seems pretty reasonable.

You probably spent over 1000 baht in time already looking for a cheaper solution.

    My time is free.

A non return valve cost 14 Baht, so why would a much simpler item cost 3 times that, and then you also have to take 5 pieces to get that price?

Your PC is too damn old anyway. Those BIOS I haven't seen them in ages haha, modern BIOS are not much less than a OS themselves...

Anyway I am 99.999% sure it is a hardware issue. So you have to troubleshoot.

    Main suspect, GPU.

Does your CPU have an integrate GPU? If so remove the graphics card and try again. Or try to find a known good GPU to try with it.

    Second suspect, RAM.

Do you have dual channel or single channel? Try unplugging some of your memory sticks, or try with some known good ones.

    Third suspect, HDD/SSD.

In fact highly possible, specially if a mechanic HDD. Not much more to say here. Except to maybe take a look at the health of the HDD using a S.M.A.R.T. diagnostics software.

    Fourth suspect, CPU.

    Extremely unlikely.

    Fifth suspect, motherboard.

    Highly unlikely.

    Another big suspect

Your OS, corrupt, full of virus. You could try reinstalling Windows.

If I had to gamble. I'd bet 60% on the GPU and 40% on the HDD.

The Ram are 4 x 2Gb strips and are less than 2 years old.

I ran a memory diagnostic, and it didn't indicate any problems.

It is a 500 GB Crucial SSD bought from InvadeIT, also less than 2 years ago.

The CPU is an I5 750 running at 2.66 Ghz. I know quite aged, but should do the job.

I have ran various virus scans, and they don't find anything. The OS is genuine and activated, newly installed also less than 2 years ago.

About an hour ago I removed the GPU, cleaned the contacts with acetone an inserted again.

I also changed the SATA cable from the SSD and plugged into a different SATA port, also used a different power connection.

    So far no problems yet

I have only just come across this thread of yours, and what caught my eye was the fact that you were running Malwarebytes along with Panda AV.

That is how it started, and what I suspected. When I removed both, the issue stopped for about a month. I haven't reinstalled them, but the issue started again 1 month later

Sounds cheap to me, we had a small plastic pipe connected to a brass piece in our coffee machine and to replace it, we would have to replace the whole thing, e.g. to awkward to put another piece of pipe or hose over it as the pressure would just blow it off, so as opposed to forking out 900 baht for the piece, we purchased another machine for 1,7,00 baht and kept the other for spares in case we need it.

We love our coffee, I wouldn't think twice if it happened again, 40 baht a piece a rip off....lol

No it doesn't sound cheap at all, the parts you buy from the coffee machine makers are extortion.

I have a Philips senseo, and inside is a 3 way valve, which looks like this.

    PHILIPS SENSEO 3 Wege Ventil Für Hd-7800 1. Generation Senseo Nr. 9965 000 11409 - EUR 12,95 | PicClick DE

To buy it from Phillips it would cost 800 Baht + shipping.

Now I figured out that with 2 non return valves and a T- connector, I can do the same.

2 non-return valves cost 52 Baht including shipping on Lazada, so I would expect such a t-connector to cost about similar.

Now if i could buy 1 for 40 Baht, it would still be acceptable, but I don't need 5.

In a side note, the very same non-return valves are also listed at 467 Baht a piece on the same Lazada, with free shipping

If you had bought a pack 4 at the time you wouldn't be looking again now already

Thank you smart Alec, but if you had read carefully, you would have noticed that I said similar small items, not the same items. They were for another application, but if I could remember where I bought them, I'm sure they would also have what I need this time

For that small look in the aquarium supply section of global house. I saw similar this morning in my local global house.

I would have taken more notice if I knew you were looking for that particular item.????

Went to a few aquarium shops here in Pattaya, but they didn't have it. Global house may have it, but bit out of the way for me. Would cost me more than 200 Baht lol

A few years ago I bought similar small items, but can't remember where I bought them

Have you tried Hardware House  on Sukhumvit  @  Bahn Ampur     they have quite a selection of irrigation pipe fittings.

Irrigation fittings are considerable larger in diameter, this is for inside a coffee machine.

The Bht 207 is for 5 pieces. So you have spares for when they eventually (inevitably) break.

And it looks like you could specify the size and colour.

Well, I don't need 4 spares, neither is the colour important to me,  and at 40 Baht a piece it is still a rip off.

Non return valves of that size, which I think would commend a higher price, go for 10 Baht on Lazada

  17. I have no problem at all with safe mode, though even is safe mode it freezes instantly when opening Brave browser.

My problem is also only when using a browser, regardless which one

I ran a Windows diagnostic when this problem started more than a month ago, which told me hardware problems were detected, but it doesn't say which hardware.

A few days later, there was no freezing anymore for 1 month, after which it started again

Have you tried the water pipe connection areas of your local hardware store.

My homeone has black and blue plastic 3 way hose connectors.

What I'm looking for is only 6mm in diameter. You think hardware stores have such small sizes?
