  1. Hi all where is the best place to buy real designer fragrances that are not super overpriced? I’ve been into the Sephora shop and the brand shops like dior and Chanel and of course they seem to be a bit higher.

i did a comparison on boots UK website compared to here in Thailand and UK seems a lot cheaper back home.

For example a bottle of dior sauvage is around £85 and here is £115.

is there anybody in here that has purchased online on some Thai websites and has some websites I can check out?

i think Sephora offers 10% on first order when you sign up so I might just use the that.

I’ve seen a few websites but not sure if they are legit and I am not risking buying fakes on Lazada.

if you have any legit websites that you have used in the past so kindly share

    thanks

  2. Hi all,

thinking of getting some custom fitted french cuffed shirts for work, i have seen a few of these shops all around BKK but never needed to go in there before.

How much do they charge per shirt roughly does anybody know and typically how long the process take?

and is there any places that you can recommend? i will be looking to get somewhere between 2-5 shirts depending on how expensive they are (i have no idea)

I have seen some of those suit shops around khaoson and sukhumvit that offer a whole 3 peice suit for US$200 run by indians rather than thais, are these the best places or worst places to go?

  3. Hello, I am living in Bangkok and wondering if anyone knows where I can buy Monoxidil / rogaine in a tablet form? I used to use the foam but I am only looking for the  tablet form if possible..

does anybody know if they sell the tablets anywhere? Online or know any specific places to go to?

it seems that the foam topical version is very common here but oral not so much unlike other countries.

Any links or websites or line contact ID’s would be appreciated

picture attached for what I am looking for … Loniten / Minoxidil and if anyone knows how much it costs that would be good !

  5. I have been renting a average apartment for the whole of covid, will be looking to move into a condo at some point in the near future but anything that i should be aware of before renting and what questions to ask?

I am under the impression that when looking online on some sites like DDot property you need to message the agents on Line to arrange a viewing of the room? some pictures on some listings dont give you a full idea of what the room is like and most of the pictures are 3D renders for most part.

Are you able to show up at the condo reception and ask to view the rooms or you have to deal with the agents via line before hand?

Any questions that i should be asking before signing?

Questions that spring to mind are, water and electric costs, whether i can install my own AIS fiber broadband etc?

Also are the prices that you see on the websites negotiable at all with the agents?

  6. I will be picking up my work permit next week, as far as I am aware for a Foreigner to open a bank account to open a bank account you need a WP.

I am wondering if there is any particular bank here in Bangkok that is best for foreigners or are they all typically the same.

Without researching I suppose I would just walk into the nearest Bank branch to where i live, which is the yellow one, I believe it is called Krungsri. thoughts? let me know who your with and

do i just need to take my WP and Passport to the branch to open an account?

Is it all done in the same day ?

    Thanks!

  7. Recently last November CW we’re asking people for a proof of flight leaving Thailand in order to extend their tourist visa as there was not any news they were going to extend it.

Understood that after the deadline 2 days later they announced they were extending the deadline to end of January

I’ll be going at some point next week, has anybody already gone this month for a tourist extension and once again been asked for flight ticket ?

  8. Currently in Thailand ( British Passport holder )

I am fully Vaccinated 2 jabs of AZ. Havent seen much solid info on the philippines opening up to tourists tho.. i am hoping to get over to Manila at some point in January- March 2022 and obtain a new visa at the thai embassy in Manila after exploring a bit. I would be flying from Thailand, Bangkok whenever its possible.

    Any info would be appreciated.

  9. @ubonjoecsn you confirm if you need a photocopy of all your visa stamps in Thailand or just the ENTRY stamp and Latest stamp they gave you.

im pretty sure the last time they asked me for a photocopy of all my stamps, which given how many times we’ve had to extend since the start of 2020 this accumulates up to being a lot.

pretty sure before it was only the entry and latest stamps they wanted photocopied but also I think the woman at the desk just had really bad English so I ended up wasting an extra hour queuing for the photocopy machine.

ive also read somewhere that some people have been told some IO’s are saying the covid extensions will be extending again shortly - which I am guessing will allow us to start applying for them come the end of March > which then gives us 60 days towards May? — long gone are the days of these short term tourist visas I take it, it’s time to cash in every couple of months.

Counter K. It's up to IO discretion I think. My friends who went yesterday were asked for it.

It could be that since I stayed at the same place for 10 years the IO didn't need additional proof. She also said at one point when I was missing a copy that she would do it for me and was sympathetic to me since I am almost 60. Who knows.

Just got back from counter J, got stamped without tm30 no questions asked. Cheers

Apologies. I was waiting to see how things worked out as I have been every time and the situation has been different every time. The tm30 is a new requirement for people in my situation. I just saw a post about it today, which is why I am asking.

Hi Vernan, was you counter J or K?

J is no online booking required and also they didn’t ask you for tm30?

Just wanted to share my experience going to the MTT Immigration office today, in case it helps anyone. It was a chaotic process with a long wait (1-2 hours), as many people were applying for the tourist COVID extension, like I was. I arrived around 2pm, and people were still waiting when I left around 5:30. They seemed fairly strict about people needing to have a TM 30 notification thing (proof of residence in Thailand, I think), but fortunately I asked my hotel to print out some TM 30-related document yesterday, which the Immigration staff accepted after some discussion (otherwise I would have had to go to a nearby building to get some residence document there and then possibly have had to come back the next day). The office is in the middle of nowhere, and the closest BTS seems to be Wat Phra Sri Mahathat (N17) – at least, this is where the motorcyle taxi driver dropped me after I left (150 baht). Good luck if you're going there ... you may want to bring a book along to read!

Did you go to counter J or K ?

  13. hi guys,

So I am starting to worry about this “ you need a tm30 to extend this visa this time round” talk I’ve been reading about.

I will be going to MTT tomorrow,

I thought That I have everything I need for the tourist 60 visa stamp holder who requires the 60 extension.

ive now found out that apparently us lot are now considered ‘long stay’ according to barrow on Twitter and we need a tm30.

is this tm30 needed for me ( tourist visa 60 holder )

or is it just for visa exempt people?

I saw somebody post earlier that counter J ( the counter I need ) don’t ask for this. But counter K ( the visa Exempt counter and the one where you arrive at the tent at MTT..) they ask for this, they also ask for an online booking for appointment where as counter J, strangely doesn’t. ( it’s good because I can’t even book an appointment anyway as it doesn’t work whatever category/ date you pick it’s got a red circle with a line through it)

My girlfriend has everything in her name and the landlord doesn’t even have my id or passport or anything I’ve never been asked for anything from the landlord, and I don’t think tourists have ever been asked for this tm30 before? I’ve only just read barrows tweets to say this is a new requirement?

so in summary has anybody been to counter J ( tourist 60 stamp holders) and been asked for tm30, what happened? What was said? Turned away? Told to come back? Did you get your stamp etc.

Would appreciate any help and no obnoxious comments please and thank you
