  1. It's not plastic! It's synthetic fiber!!! Why don't you call it a proper name instead of causing confusion and arguments?
  2. The key word is permeable. I don't know what blue sheet you're referring to. Initially you've called it "plastic."
  3. He asks for an advice on geotextiles which are being used on "difficult" soil/terrain variations in road construction. Geotextiles are permeable fabrics - nothing to do with plastics (at least not in their common definition).
  4. Why would he need any plastic to start with? What is its purpose?
  5. I did a quick search and couldn't find anything relevant to your claim. Plastic being placed on freshly poured road surface might be used as a protective barrier to preserve surface moisture.
  6. Yeah, that's how they do minor roads here. Over here we have a major type of a road being expanded to add more lanes. They use lots of sand, different types of gravel and many huge compactors going back and forth as a prep work for the top hard surface layer.
  7. In what form? Plastic sheets or plastic structural cells? I see plastic sheets being used for initial erosion control. But I've never seen plastic sheets being used as a layer under the fill material. Can you point me to relevant websites?
  8. Plastic or geotextiles?
  9. You might have a problem if that section continues to sink this time next year.
  10. How would plastic help with his problem? I don't see any plastic being placed under crushed rock during roads construction.
  11. How long has it been since the rock placement?
  12. Grout lines do work and create tons of grip. Check out numerous American shower floors.
  13. Yes, you're right on those points. In addition the recessed grout lines work on the same principles as well known to work for car tire or shoe sole threads. They create grip.
  14. Yes, mosaic porcelain tiles - commonly used on the shower floors in the West.
  15. Are those tiles R11 rated?
  16. It seems the most common grade being offered in the Anti-slip section of Cotto is R11. There are also R9 and R10 grade listed. https://www.cottolife.com/en/tiles/innovation/r11.html Textured is not the same as slip-resistant.
  17. How's your experience so far?
  18. How's your experience with that pump? My question is related to the shower heater usage if you have one. Does the water pressure and temperature noticeably fluctuate (pressure tank refill cycle)?
  19. My understanding is that there are few, rare "rogue" households that are still unaware or couldn't care less.. Have you actually seen anyone still running such setups? Even in remote villages with centralized water distribution system? And if they do, then those must be exclusively leftovers from prior days of everything goes DIY setups. I'm certain no contractor in modern times would even consider doing direct hookup.
  20. Are you saying the law is not being meaningfully enforced?
  21. Isn't it obvious? Apparently not judging by some comments on this thread.
  22. Is that so? I'd suspect the law is being enforced with some appropriate punishment measures. Endangering everyone's water supplies is criminal.
  23. @Baldie I'd suggest testing your water in a lab first. Only then you (or any contractor) will know for sure what problematic minerals need to be removed. Also, what kinds of "valves/filters" and how often do you replace on a regular bases?
  24. @giddyup "Quality" (western standard) upvc windows will cost you an arm and leg, relative to the cost of other house components. That's the reason why just about every house here comes with cheap aluminum windows. There are quite a few companies around that you can ask for a rough quote, especially if you're in/around Pattaya. For example: https://europvc.co.th/ https://www.hevta.co.th/ https://www.tradeupvcwindows.com/ http://deku-upvc-windows-thailand.com/english/ The alternative would be the much cheaper Thai standard upvc windows, but those won't be that much different from your aluminum ones other than the frame material.
  25. I've noticed that the brand of the front-end RCBO differs from the rest of breakers, which are of the same brand as the panel itself, Schneider. I've never heard of the CCS brand before.
